Flamingo Headliners Donny & Marie Provide Sneak Peek Into Creation Of Wax Images

Flamingo Las Vegas Headliners Donny & Marie are sharing a sneak peek of their Madame Tussauds wax figures that will be unveiled in 2016, making them the first new figures of the year for the attraction.

In the photos, Donny Osmond and Marie Osmond can be seen being measured by the Madame Tussauds studio team. This step of the process involves collecting hand impressions and nearly 300 precise body and facial measurements per person, as well as comparing hair samples and eye color. For measuring, calipers are utilized to ensure accuracy.

Now that the measuring is complete, their figures are currently being sculpted and perfected in clay by hand. Once this step is complete, the clay will be covered by a plaster cast. Once the plaster is cooled, the clay will be removed from the casts, leaving the shape of the figures in plaster. The final weeks of 2015 will be spent meticulously inserting each hair by hand then fitted with acrylic eyes and teeth. The final step will include countless layers of tinted paint being applied to build up skin tones and replicate their faces.

100,000 Tickets Sold For Santana Show At House Of Blues!

Yesterday, fans caught a glimpse of House of Blues headliner Carlos Santana as he appeared in front of House of Blues inside Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino to receive an honor  commemorating his 100,000th ticket sold to An Intimate Evening with Santana: Greatest Hits Live. The memorabilia display will be installed in the House of Blues Las Vegas Music Hall.

The crowd was also treated to a performance by the Agassi College Preparatory Academy, a school Santana has supported over the years.  Santana resumes his residency at the intimate concert venue with performances beginning tomorrow (Wed, Nov. 4) - www.houseofblues.com/lasvegas/santana

Multi-platinum GRAMMY®-nominated singer and songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen will ring in the New Year at Venetian Las Vegas during three concert performances:  Dec. 30, and 31, 2015 and Jan. 2, 2016.  Jepsen will perform her headline shows inside The Venetian Theatre.

Carly Rae Jepsen released her critically acclaimed new album E·MO·TION on Aug. 21, earning a host of positive reviews from such outlets as Rolling Stone, Stereogum, People, NPR, and TIME magazine, which deemed E·MO·TION, “the current frontrunner for pop album of the year.”   The first single released from the album, “I Really Like You,” became a global Top 40 hit, while the video is Vevo Certified with more than 100 million views.  Jepsen’s new single “Run Away with Me” is out now.

E·MO·TION is the follow-up to Jepsen’s U.S. debut album Kiss, which featured her blockbuster break-out hit “Call Me Maybe.” The single climbed to No. 1 on the iTunes Singles charts in more than 47 countries and has sold more than 18 million singles worldwide to date. It earned Jepsen 2012 GRAMMY nominations for Best Pop Solo Performance and Song of the Year. Kiss also spawned the follow-up hit “Good Time,” a duet with Owl City, which has been certified double-platinum. The holiday weekend continued on Saturday with the grand opening of the Marquee Dayclub Dome. DJ Carnage provided the soundtrack to the daytime pool party while Oculto and Tinder were sponsors of the event.  Oculto began its 12 weekend partnership with Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub. The brand, known for making secrets, transformed Marquee’s Library into the “Oculto Lair,” complete with free samples of beer aged on tequila barrel staves, intimate DJ performances, brand ambassadors, fortune tellers and much more.  Through January 2016, Oculto will also have a presence on the main floor of Marquee, distributing approximately 3,000 samples per weekend and conducting giveaways of premium branded items.

The Fat Jew

Over at LAVO a special Halloween edition of Champagne Brunch was hosted by social media star The Fat Jew. The entertainer also known as Josh Ostrovsky made a grand entrance pulling up to the venue in LAVO’s luxury golf cart before heading to his table where he enjoyed a selection of brunch favorites and sipped on his wine label, White Girl Rose. Taking to the stage, he delighted party-goers when he sprayed the crowd with White Girl Rose from a water gun.

Halloween Contest Winner 

From day to night the festivities continued as The Fat Jew hosted Halloween at TAO where he enjoyed dinner before heading up to nightclub to watch the costume contest complete with $30,000 in prizes. Wrapping up the night, the group made their way to Marquee Nightclub where they took in the sounds of Alesso.

Also spotted at TAO Asian Bistro was pop star Nick Jonas with friends. The group enjoyed the satay of sea bass, crispy snapper in the sand and imperial wagyu sirloin before also heading to Marquee for the Zombie ApoQlypse.

 Bryshere Grey aka ‘Yazz The Greatest’ 

At LAVO Casino Club, Bryshere Grey aka ‘Yazz The Greatest’ from the hit show Empire hosted the venue’s inaugural Halloween party with a group that included his girlfriend Allonie Janet. The actor delighted guests when he stepped onto the stage and performed his new single, “Bout 2 Blow”.

At Marquee Nightclub Alesso manned the decks for the Zombie ApoQlypse party as festive club-goers danced the night away. After enjoying dinner at TAO, professional poker player and social media star Dan Bilzerian joined celebration.

"Tis The Season" For Ethel M's Annual Holiday Cactus Festivities

Famed chocolatier, Ethel M Chocolates, will once again light up the night with its 22nd Annual Holiday Cactus Garden on Tuesday, Nov. 10 from 5-8 p.m. The countdown to the lighting of more than half a million colorful lights will take place at approximately 6 p.m. at the Henderson Factory and Cactus Garden location.

Recognized as the ultimate community holiday kickoff event in Southern Nevada, the Holiday Cactus Lighting is widely supported by local entertainers and personalities. One of Las Vegas’ favorite radio hosts, Mercedes of MIX 94.1, will emcee the event again this year with holiday entertainment provided by Las Vegas Strip performers Human Nature and the Jabbawockeez as well as Sin City Opera.

While the Holiday Cactus Lighting event is free and open to guests of all ages, tickets are required for admission. Starting Nov. 2, a limited number of tickets will be available at the Ethel M Chocolates factory in Henderson. A family four-pack of tickets will be offered in exchange for non-perishable food items to be donated to Three Square Food Bank, or a toy donation for HELP of Southern Nevada.

This annual Southern Nevada tradition is expected to attract thousands of chocolate lovers eager to usher in the season. In addition to the awe-inspiring lighting, the evening will feature holiday festivities including photos with Santa, chocolate samples, face painters, balloon artists, raffles and more. Families are welcome to take their own Santa photos for free, but a professional photographer will also be on hand taking and selling images for $10 each.

The Ethel M Holiday Cactus Garden will be open every evening through Jan. 1 and is free to the public (no pets please). The garden will glow nightly from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Additionally, visitors can peek into the factory where Ethel M Chocolates are crafted using time-honored methods and only the finest, fresh ingredients.

“You’re the One That I Want!” Legends in Concert, Las Vegas’ award-winning live tribute show, along with superstar and Flamingo Las Vegas headliner, Olivia Newton-John, have joined forces to launch the global search for the first Olivia Newton-John tribute artist.

Due to popular demand, the contest has been extended through Saturday, Nov. 21. Aspiring singers and ONJ fans are encouraged to submit a video of themselves singing a classic Newton-John song from any era via the Legends in Concert website. Participants must dress up as the real life GRAMMY award-winning music icon, or one of their favorite characters she made famous such as Sandy from “Grease” or Kira from “Xanadu.”

One “Hopelessly Devoted” fan will be selected by the Aussie icon and mentored by the Legends in Concert’s casting team, winning an opportunity to join the cast and perform at one of the Legends in Concert venues throughout the U.S. The lucky winner will be determined based on overall looks, mannerisms and vocal ability to match the star’s likeness. A prestigious judging panel including Olivia will crown the very first Olivia Newton-John tribute artist.

For fans who want to get “Physical” and enter the competition, but don’t sing, can enter a related contest via Instagram. Entrants can upload a photo of themselves dressed as Newton-John, tagging @LegendsInConcertLV and using the hashtag #OliviaIsALegend. The winner will receive an overnight stay at the Flamingo Las Vegas, and two VIP tickets to both Legends in Concert and Olivia Newton-John’s residency, Summer Nights. If the winner lives within the U.S., two round-trip airfares to Las Vegas will be provided. "Funky Cold Medina" Vegas Style! 90's Halloween Bash At Chateau Nightclub

Hip-hop artist Tone Loc and GRAMMY award winning artist, Coolio, transported club-goers back in time on Halloween at Chateau Nightclub & Rooftop at Paris Las Vegas Saturday night.

Coolio, widely known for singing the theme song to Nickelodeon’s hit television series, “Kenan & Kel,”  arrived at the club past midnight with Tone Loc and an entourage of friends to join in on the 90s themed Halloween party. In true Coolio style, the artist sported a navy vest over his button-down shirt and plaid kilt complete with black leather fanny pack, all while flaunting his famous Coolio braids through his fedora.

Tone Loc brought the house down an epic performance of his hit songs “Funky Cold Medina” and “Wild Thing.”

After the performance, Tone Loc and Coolio took to a lavish VIP booth to relax and wrap up Halloween weekend surrounded by the panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip.

It's BACK! Lee Canyon's Name Change Is Official!

The Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort is officially changing their name to Lee Canyon.  With this they are actually returning to their original name when established in 1963.

This decision to change their name is of way of being a part of the Spring Mountain's long history as a winter playground for locals and guests to Las Vegas, as well as the evolution to a year-round outdoor recreation destination.    Lee Canyon, as a name, reflects more of what they stand for now (and back then), and that's an unpretentious year round family outdoor recreation area.  In the days to come you will see the re-brand to the new name including resort signs, uniforms, brochures, trail maps, as well as social media.

We hope you will join them this winter and celebrate the return to their roots as well as the bright future at Lee Canyon.
