Check Out Carrot Top's Shrunken Head At The Golden Tiki

Carrot Top meets his shrunken head at The Golden Tiki

The Golden Tiki's Branden Power and Carrot Top

Kicking off Halloween weekend in Las Vegas, comedian Carrot Top unveiled his own shrunken head this evening at The Golden Tiki. Managing Partner Branden Powers was on hand to present the honor to the headlining Strip performer.

"This is amazing," said Carrot Top. "Now I always have a friend to drink with at The Golden Tiki!"

Said Powers, "We just thought, what better way to salute one of our favorite performers than by preserving him forever in our Headhunter Village."

Carrot Top loved the likeness so much, he posed with it for several minutes, before requesting that Powers have a duplicate made for his showroom at the Luxor Hotel & Casino. The head was crafted over a four week process by artists commissioned by the Golden Tiki, and is expected to be the first in a series of celebrity shrunken heads on display at Vegas' iconic new Tiki revival bar.

Located in Chinatown, Las Vegas, The Golden Tiki is a journey to a wondrous land where boundaries are only limited to one's imagination. The vision of hospitality veteran Branden Powers, in collaboration with Seth Schorr, Jeff Fine and Joe Cain, The Golden Tiki has spared no expense in recreating the classic mid-century tiki bar, reminiscent of Don the Beachcomber and Trader Vic's storied establishments. The cocktail menu features nostalgic classics and new creations, as well as a traditional Martinique ti service and a special treasure chest VIP experience. Collaborating with renowned artists including Tiki Bosko, Billy the Crud, Bill Collins and Oceanic Arts, the one-of-a-kind decor also boasts an animatronic skeleton of the mythical privateer and legend behind The Golden Tiki, William Tobias Faulkner.

Open 24 hours a day, The Golden Tiki offers a multitude of experiences and can host private parties up to 145 people. For more information, visit thegoldentiki.com or call 702.222.3196. Like us at facebook.com/TheGoldenTikiVegas

Bolster Your Brain Health With New Offerings From The Juice Standard

Fall offerings from The Juice Standard, Las Vegas’ swanky organic juicery, continue throughout November in honor of National Alzheimer’s Awareness month. The juicery has introduced turmeric-infused juice blends, new “shots” and a harvest-inspired organic specialty espresso drink to both celebrate the flavors of the season and bolster brain health.

The juice bar, with locations at 4555 S. Fort Apache Rd., and 2530 St. Rose Pkwy., offers an array of juices and nut milks that are cold pressed from 100 percent organic produce. Several signature recipes include turmeric, a root vegetable popular in curries, which contains curcumin, a powerful and well-documented alleviator of joint inflammation that is sought for its positive effects on cognitive function in Alzheimer's disease patients. According to Jamie Stephenson, The Juice Standard’s CEO and co-founder, drinking turmeric juice is a highly effective way to absorb curcumin, especially when it's paired with a pinch of cracked black pepper. The curcumin in turmeric acts as a bodyguard against molecules that aim to cause chronic inflammation, and black pepper increases the body’s ability to absorb curcumin by 1000 percent.

The Juice Standard’s turmeric-containing juices and nut milks include:

•    Bee On Point, a blend of cucumber, celery, carrot, apple, kale, beet, dandelion, radish, lemon, ginger, turmeric and black pepper;
•    Bee True To You, a sweet-yet-spicy juice with cucumber, lemon, ginger, turmeric, honey, and cayenne;
•     Bee WHealthy™, the juicery's signature recipe featuring cucumber, celery, romaine, kale, apple, dandelion, parsley, lemon, ginger, and turmeric;
•     Bee Legendary, an eggnog-inspired nut milk made with raw cashew, raw brazil nut, raw walnut, turmeric, ginger, vanilla bean, cardamom, nutmeg, clove, pink Himalayan salt, cracked black pepper, and raw local honey.

Throughout November, The Juice Standard will also offer $5 turmeric shots, where juicers may get a strong dose of the powerful ingredient combined with oil of oregano, ginger and apple cider vinegar, all of which combine to promote full absorption of turmeric’s curcumin.

And for a limited time, until organic pumpkin leaves for another season, coffee lovers can spice up their typical Bee Invincible with the flavors of fall. For an additional $1, the newly released Harvest Spice Bee Invincible includes organic espresso, house-made pumpkin purée, cinnamon, clove, vanilla, ginger, raw agave, cardamom, coconut oil, and your choice of grass-fed butter or ghee.

More information is available by calling 702.476.9800; on The Juice Standard’s website at www.juicestandard.com; on Facebook at www.facebook.com/TheJuiceStandard; on Instagram at instagram.com/thejuicestandard; and on Twitter at twitter.com/JuiceStandard.

Get Your "Boorito" At Chipotle Mexican Grill & Help Farmers

Chipotle Mexican Grill announces the return of its longstanding and popular Halloween fundraiser, Boorito. On Saturday, October 31 between 5pm and closing, Chipotle will offer $3 burritos, bowls, salads, and tacos to customers dressed in a costume with an, “unnecessary” addition. Proceeds from the fundraiser, up to $1 million, will benefit the Chipotle Cultivate Foundation.

Boorito has become one of the company’s most iconic promotions and this year, to showcase the simplicity of their ingredients, Chipotle is asking Boorito participants to add an unnecessary addition to their costumes in order to redeem the $3 Boorito offer. This twist on the costume guidelines supports the company’s larger vision of serving only the highest quality ingredients versus the complex array of unnecessary additives and preservatives that are typically found in fast food.

Unlike a typical fast food restaurant menu that includes hundreds, if not thousands of additives, including chemicals, processing aids, artificial colors and artificial flavors, Chipotle serves a simple menu of food made with only 68 ingredients that are raised or grown with respect for farmers, the environment, animals and consumers. These high quality ingredients are then prepared using classic cooking techniques.

“We’ve always focused on sourcing the highest quality ingredients, and we are challenging our customers to learn about the unnecessary ingredients used in typical fast food by adding something
‘unnecessary’ to their costume,” said Mark Crumpacker, chief creative and development officer. “In
exchange for adding an unnecessary item to their costume, we’ll donate $1 from their purchase to the
Chipotle Cultivate Foundation to help in its efforts to create a better food future."

In support of this year’s Boorito fundraiser, Chipotle has produced a companion short film in conjunction with New York-based studio, Piro, entitled “Endless Line.” The humorous film features a customer entering a fictitious fast food restaurant where she discovers what Chipotle would be like if it served traditional fast food rather than cooking by hand. It follows her as she orders from an endless line of workers, each adding a different artificial additive to her meal. Rather than accept her artificially flavored, colored, and processed meal, she questions where the “real” ingredient are. The short video concludes with the line: “Unnecessary additives are creepy.”

Proceeds from Boorito up to $1 million will benefit the Chipotle Cultivate Foundation. To date, Chipotle customers have raised more than $4 million through the Boorito fundraising program to support the foundation’s work. The Chipotle Cultivate Foundation provides resources and promotes good stewardship for farmers; promotes better livestock husbandry; encourages regenerative agriculture practices; and fosters food literacy, cooking education, and nutritious eating.

Splatter Zone Halloween! Costume Contest At EVIL DEAD: The Musical

Las Vegas' only show with a Splatter Zone is stepping up its game and celebrating all Halloween weekend.

"People come invade Las Vegas all year long to see this show, and Halloween may see the wildest audiences, the bloodiest performances, and the loudest fans of all," said director and producer Sirc Michaels, "Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, which is great, but why limit the best holiday of the year to just one day? Every day at our show is Halloween, and we wanted to do something special for the entire weekend to celebrate."

In addition to the show's normal performances, the team behind the most unlikely hit on the Strip have worked to add the following touches:

1. A costume contest open to any attendees in costume on Friday 10/30 and Saturday 10/31 - fans are encouraged to attend the show in their undead best and be a part of the contest!
2. Extra blood for the Splatter Zone - because sometimes 20 gallons of fresh warm blood just isn't enough!
3. Additional Halloween touches throughout the performances to celebrate the holidays. These could be little "easter eggs" or could be blatant references to classic films or maybe even an appearance from a classic horror character or two. These will change from night to night so both shows will be different.

The Halloween performances are expected to sell out in advance, so people are encouraged to get their tickets before they are all gone.
