Fashion Music & Art Collide On Monday At Foxtail Pool SLS

Music and fashion have always gone hand in hand, and with the launch of Musical T's™, the connection solidifies its place in history with the introduction of technology to the design mix. Fashion designer and rock royalty Astrella will debut her new designs on Monday, August 17, 2015 at Foxtail Pool at SLS Las Vegas with an official launch party, just as the collection expands to Bloomingdale’s locations in Los Angeles and New York City.

The Musical T's™ brand is a hybrid of fashion, music, art, design, technology and philanthropy created to provide an entirely unique, multi-faceted clothing experience. Astrella, daughter to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Donovan, created this collection of lavish t-shirts based on iconic album artwork from artists including Elton John, Miles Davis, Queen, Cyndi Lauper, The Vandals and more. Working with 100% organic fabrics and lovingly handmade in Hollywood, Calif., the collection re-imagines iconic album artwork, while simultaneously allowing consumers to download the full album associated with the t-shirt design by scanning the digital gate (NFC or QR Code) unlocking an entire musical experience online including videos, photos, memorabilia, interviews and more. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a cocktail party and exhibit featuring the collaborative art of Miguel Paredes, an innovative pop-artist, and Michael Turchin, an artist with a modern take on retro celebrity-driven pop art, as they recreate the iconic album cover imagery found on Musical T's™ from Queen, Elton John, The WHO, Ray Charles, The Vandals and more. These massive screen paintings, hand embellished by Paredes are “1 of 1” originals signed by Astrella, Paredes, Turchin and the musicians themselves making these incredible canvases priceless and unique. The event, hosted by Astrella and Parades will also feature musician Lance Bass as the emcee and electronic artist Carmen Rizzo providing the tunes.

Guests will then be wowed at the Foxtail Pool during the fashion show produced by Susan Stein Style. DJ Chris Carter from Breakfast With The Beatles will provide additional music during the fashion event.

Another amazing find at Cosmoprof; the Pockette! Which claims that it will blow you away and it does! Why use a single ply tissue when you could have a luxurious scented 4-ply tissue pack? These tissues were a obsession for two tissue smuggling globetrotters - Beauty Mogul George Schaeffer (former OPI owner) and Family Therapist Tom Cohn. They found the European tissues to be more durable, soft and scented. Smokey Eye Duo Purple

We were introduced to the Kryolan product line a few years ago and were so happy so see the beautiful booth. This makeup line has two uses, one for the true makeup aficionado and one for the  professional makeup artist. They manufacture their own makeup and have been doing it for three generations and 70 years. What did we find? The new Smokey Eye trio which is an elegant  mirror set with three colors. Celebrated Chef Gordon Ramsay & Family In VEGAS! Where?

Tuesday night, award-winning chef Gordon Ramsay surprised his family with tickets to one of Las Vegas’ most exciting shows, the world famous Mystère by Cirque du Soleil. At 7 p.m., the critically acclaimed chef and his family arrived at the theatre, where they enjoyed their last night in Vegas with some of the greatest acrobatic performers in the world.

After the show, the family joined the cast backstage and praised them for their breathtaking performance, with Ramsay himself calling the production absolutely “brilliant.” Amazed by the artists’ impeccable skills, the kids were seen chatting excitedly, saying they “can’t believe the artists do that twice a night!” The cast happily took photos with the Ramsay family to commemorate the unforgettable experience.

Today, artists from Mystère join Chef Ramsay and his family as they film a special segment for season two of “Matilda and the Ramsay Bunch.”

Proceeds from the bowling tournament will support ECF’s primary charitable endeavor of awarding annual scholarship awards to deserving high school students seeking careers in the hospitality and food and beverage industries.

 Strikes for Scholarships will feature bowling, food and drink specials as well as exciting raffle prizes. Top Chef Master Reunion Dinner Coming To Border Grill Get Your Tix!

Border Grill chefs/owners Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger will host fellow Top Chef Masters alumni for a special Top Chef Masters Reunion Dinner on Wednesday, August 19 at their Border Grill kitchen inside Mandalay Bay. Guest chefs include Hugh Acheson (5&10, The National, Empire State South and The Florence) and Rick Moonen (rm seafood and Rx Boiler Room). The all-star lineup will also feature cocktails created by The Modern Mixologist Tony Abou-Ganim.

"It's rare to get us all in the same room together, so we're thrilled for the chance to host this dinner.
