Top Ten Things To Do In Vegas For NYE 2015!!

The countdown is on. 2015 is right around the corner and in the Entertainment Capital of the World, there’s no shortage of ways to celebrate. While Las Vegas has all the usual NYE suspects, why not consider some new ways to bring in the New Year, like eating 23-karat gold flecked lasagna or kicking off 2015 with Justin Timberlake?

So, how should you celebrate New Year’s Eve in Sin City? Here are 10 ideas:

10.  Taste the decadence. Say adieu to 2014 at The Mirage with Portofino’s White Diamond truffle and 23-karat gold flaked lasagna. The $100 “Diamond and Gold” Lasagna tantalizes taste buds with layers of pasta stuffed with porcini mushrooms, Iberico ham, Prosciutto di Parma, 24-month-aged Parmigiano-Reggiano, buffalo mozzarella and Kobe Bolognese. This luxurious creation is finished with foie gras-infused Alfredo sauce. www.mirage.com/restaurants/portofino-by-chef-michael-laplaca.aspx

9.     Dance the year away. If confetti blasts and partying like a rock star are more your style, check out the top headliners at the finest nightclubs in the world. Calvin Harris with Eva Shaw & Burns will headline a special New Year’s Eve set at Hakkasan at MGM Grand. Alesso will drop beats at LIGHT at Mandalay Bay and The Bank at Bellagio will feature an exclusive live performance by Trey Songz.

8.     Party with Macklemore. If you’re donning your latest thrift shop finds this New Year’s Eve, 1OAK at The Mirage is the place to be, as Grammy Award-winning hip-hop duo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis take the stage to perform hits like “Thrift Shop” and “Same Love.”

7.     Go out with a bang. Fireworks light up the sky along Las Vegas Boulevard at midnight so it’s crucial to find a good vantage point well ahead of time. miX Lounge at Delano Las Vegas boasts an outdoor patio and floor-to-ceiling windows facing The Strip. You won’t miss a single burst with this epic view. www.delanolasvegas.com/dining/mix-lounge.aspx

6.     Catch the water works. Water and fire usually don’t play well together, but on New Year’s Eve on The Strip, it might be the best mash-up yet! Using dramatic music, water and light, The Fountains of Bellagio soar up to 460 feet in beautifully choreographed synchronization. With the glimmering fireworks in the background and the waterworks right in front of you, the combination makes for one stunning sight! www.bellagio.com/attractions/fountains-of-bellagio.aspx

5.     Pig out. Steak is so 2014; celebrate the start of 2015 at Monte Carlo’s Yusho with a whole pig’s head. Cooked for a full 24 hours and served with a plethora of Japanese fixings like stuffed buns, cabbage kimchi and bowls of ramen, this will be a New Year’s Eve dinner you won’t soon forget. Just be sure to order at least a full day in advance. www.montecarlo.com/restaurants/yusho.aspx

4.     Paint the town gold. Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino will transform into a golden wonderland, complete with elaborate gold-themed accents, lavish culinary selections, incredible cocktails and more. The masquerade-style affair encourages guests to welcome 2015 in an exuberant environment. The party continues with chart-toppers Maroon 5 as they take over the Mandalay Bay Events Center for two special performances December 30 and 31. 1.         newsroom.mgmresorts.com/mandalay-bay/latest-news/all-that-glitters-will-be-gold-at-mandalay-bays-paint-the-town-gold-new-years-eve-extravaganza.htm

3.     Beef up your new year. Ring in the New Year with the most indulgent burger experience on The Strip – the legendary FleurBurger 5000 from celebrated chef Hubert Keller of Fleur at Mandalay Bay. The foie gras and black truffle-topped Kobe burger is accompanied by a bottle of Chateau Petrus 1995 poured in Ichendorf Brunello stemware, imported from Italy. After the meal, Fleur will ship the glasses to your home along with a personal note from Chef Keller. All this decadence for the price of $5,000! www.mandalaybay.com/dining/fleur/

2.     Cure your hangover. Hangovers are all too common come New Year’s Day. Luckily, Vegas has as many hangover cures as ways to incur said hangover. Developed by a group of experienced emergency room physicians, REVIV, located at The Underground at MGM Grand, features a wide range of intravenous and vitamin therapies to combat hangovers including three different types of IV therapies. If the “hair of the dog” cure is more your style, check out the Instagram-worthy Bloody Mary at Todd English P.U.B. inside The Shops at Crystals, where a cart is rolled tableside and guests select from an insane amount of garnishes including a bacon cheeseburger slider, a chicken wing, shrimp and a mini corn dog. revivme.com/locations/las-vegas/

1.     Put on your suit and tie. In Vegas, the party doesn’t end at the stroke of midnight. This year, continue your celebration of a fresh start, a new year and a new day with none other than Justin Timberlake, who will close out his 20/20 Experience World Tour January 1 and 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.  www.mgmgrand.com/entertainment/grand-garden-arena.aspx

Brian Setzer Performance At The Palms Brings Holiday Cheer

Christmas came early to The Pearl at Palms Casino Resort Saturday night as the Brian Setzer Orchestra brought the 11th annual Christmas Rocks! Extravaganza to the city. The band took to the stage with plenty of spirit as they rocked the house with Christmas songs such as “Dig That Crazy Santa Claus,” “Jingle Bell Rock” and “Joy to the World” mixed in with Stray Cats hits including “Rock This Town” and “Sexy & 17.” Setzer even threw in some covers performing “Ring of Fire” as well as “Jump, Jive and Wail” - the song Setzer himself gave a new life to when he covered the catchy tune in 1998. That cover won a GRAMMY for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group the following year.

In an previously released statement, Setzer said: “The Christmas Tour has become an annual tradition for many people. It’s so enjoyable for me because not only do I get to play my own versions of holiday music, but also songs I recorded with my orchestra and the Stray Cats.”

Beautiful Dark Hues Of Hair Color Herald Winter - So Says Michael Boychuck!

The winter season has arrived, which means it’s time to shed fall’s beauty trends and embrace a natural look for the colder months ahead with glamorous makeup and rich hair hues.

This winter, Boychuck anticipates that women will make a bold hair move and take a walk on the darker side. For women with lighter brown hair, a deep brunette color will look flawless with the natural makeup trends predicted for the season. For women who already rock a dark brown hair color, the addition of auburn and deep red highlights will create a rich look for winter. Blondes are encouraged to add more caramel tones to their honey highlights in order to create a warm look for the cold season.

“Fall was full of honey blondes with sleek and structured low ponytails accompanied by deep side parts,” Boychuck said. “The holiday months are the perfect time to show off deeper shades with voluminous styles.”

The color guru, owner of COLOR Salon at Caesars Palace, and partner of LifeSpa + Salon at Life Time Athletic in Summerlin and Green Valley says big, luxurious curls dressed into a side ponytail are perfect for celebrations and date nights, while structured ballerina-inspired buns make an elegant statement during the day.

Winter make-up trends include making eyes pop with black mascara to create long, plump lashes. Neutral colors, such as a taupe or cream-colored eye shadows, are the best pairing for bold lashes, as it helps to brighten the eyes and face. For an added touch, Boychuck recommends a bold eyeliner with false eyelashes to create more volume and length. A soft pink to nude lip is best for daytime wear, while nighttime is ideal to experiment with a bold lip to match the deeper hair colors of the season.

The popular pairing of natural and deep tones continues into the nail color predictions for winter. The Las Vegas-based colorist to the stars predicts that women will be sporting deep red and purple palettes, such as burgundies and eggplants, or crisp colors like stark whites and barely-there nudes.

Survivor Power Couple Jon & Jaclyn In Vegas! Where??

Jacyln & Jon

Jon & Jaclyn & Family & D Owner Derek Stevens

Last week LONGBAR at the D Las Vegas played host to Survivor power couple Jaclyn Schultz and Jon Misch.

Hot off the island, these college sweethearts from Michigan State outwitted, outplayed and outlasted their way into the top six before Jon was voted off the island in a surprising turn of events. Jaclyn held on long enough to make it into final two before losing to rival Natalie Anderson.

For almost two hours the dynamic duo posed for photos, signed autographs and interacted with fans during their “tribal council” at LONGBAR. Afterwards, Jaclyn and Jon along with Jaclyn's parents were treated by owner Derek Stevens to a beautiful dinner at Joe Vicari’s Andiamo Italian Steakhouse inside the D.
