Bone Marrow Drive Will Take Place 9/19 In Las Vegas

Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation (NCCF) seeks the community’s help to find bone marrow matches for critically-ill children in Southern Nevada during its ninth annual bone marrow drive from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19 at the Zappos corporate office. The adult community is invited to potentially save a child’s life whose life-threatening illnesses can only be cured through a bone marrow transplant by joining the national bone marrow registry, at no cost – FREE REGISTRY.

“We are truly thankful to those individuals in Southern Nevada who have joined the registry to help a child of NCCF going through this difficult time in their lives,” said Jeff Gordon, president and CEO of NCCF. “Without the help of our community, we couldn’t make this drive possible so we are asking everyone who could be potential donor to please join us on our efforts to beat our goal of 500 new registrants at this year’s event.”

NCCF is in need of Hispanic, African American, Asian and Pacific Islanders as more than 80-percent of the multi-race community can’t find a match because very few are in the national registry.

A marrow or blood cell transplant is a potentially life-saving treatment for patients with leukemia, lymphoma and other blood diseases. A transplant replaces a person’s unhealthy blood cells with healthy blood-forming cells from a volunteer donor. This year, as in past years, NCCF will cover the cost for those who join the registry. Doing so is as simple as having a swab of cheek cells which is taken and tested to determine the donor’s tissue type.   No needles or blood draws are involved.

Potential donors, between the ages of 18 and 40 years old, who meet the health guidelines, visit www.marrow.org, to complete a brief health questionnaire and consent form to be listed on the registry.

For those who are unable to join the donor registry, NCCF will accept monetary donations to cover the cost of the transplants which can be a burden on a family in need.

Professional Boxing Champion Floyd “Money” Mayweather transformed REHAB at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas into The Money Team (TMT)’s official fight after-party headquarters on Sunday, Sept. 14.

Jamie Foxx and 2 Chainz were among the first to arrive at Las Vegas’ original dayclub. As the two entered the venue, DJ Whoo Kid blared Foxx’s “Blame It (On The Alcohol)” while DJ Envy hyped up the crowd. In honor of 2 Chainz’s birthday, DJ Whoo Kid played the rapper’s “Birthday Song.”

Shortly after, Mayweather took over the poolside stage with his entourage as partygoers cheered in his honor. The group immediately popped bottles of Rick Ross’ Luc Belaire Rosé Rare champagne before hip-hop artists Jeremih, Fabolous, Jamie Foxx and 2 Chainz took turns performing. Spotted on stage was Chief Executive Officer of Philthy Rich Records and President of TMT P-Reala; TMT official DJ Jay Bling; artists Cap1, K.O. McCoy, Lonny Bereal, Marques Houston, Migos, Red Café, Slug, Tank and Young Scrap; promoter Jas Prince; Mayweather Promotions boxer Luis Arias; and reality star Siya.

The party turned into an all-night affair as Migos headed inside for the ultimate fight weekend experience finale at Vanity Nightclub. The hip-hop trio hung out on stage for an hour and performed some of their biggest hits including “Versace,” “Hannah Montana,” Fight Night” and more.

Multi-Progressive Poker Jackpot For The Venetian & The Palazzo Is Now At $500,000

The Venetian and The Palazzo recently rolled out a multi-game linked progressive jackpot that as of September 15, 2014, has exceeded $500,000. The three brand games included in the progressive are Caribbean Stud Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, and Three Card Poker, and are found at both The Venetian and The Palazzo.

When playing at any one of these three table games, players can make an optional $5 side bet to be eligible for the progressive payout, of which a portion or all of the jackpot will be paid out when a player receives a straight flush or higher. Any player who is dealt a royal flush will win 100% of the linked progressive jackpot.

“Incorporating this linked progressive jackpot to our poker-variant table games gives players the ability to win a large sum of money while playing their favorite games,” said Sean McCreery, senior vice president of casino operations at The Venetian and The Palazzo. “By linking the games, the jackpot increases faster and gives players the chance to win whether they’re playing at The Venetian or The Palazzo.”

The progressive jackpots are based on a five-card poker hand and the odds of winning the entire progressive jackpot with a Royal Flush are the same across all three games. Vocal impressionist Véronic DiCaire has announced Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada, as the September charity partner for “Lend Your Voice,”  her monthly awareness-building and fundraising effort for selected local nonprofits. During her performances from September 18 through September 27 at the Jubilee Theater at Bally’s Las Vegas, Véronic will collect audience donations and provide information on Girls Scouts of Southern Nevada’s mission from the powerful platform that is her stage.

Snoop Dog!! Takes Over At TAO Nightclub Along With Other Celebs!

Saturday evening, Will Smith was spotted dining with Marc Anthony, Romeo Santos and friends at TAO Asian Bistro. The group enjoyed satay of Chilean sea bass and Kobe ribeye with Yuzu cilantro butter before they headed to Marquee Nightclub for the night.

Actor and musician Jamie Foxx was also seen having dinner at TAO with a large group of friends. They all enjoyed the Chicken Wing Lollipops, satay of Chilean sea bass and Chinese five spice short ribs, among others. Foxx was seen walking around the restaurant chatting with the tables surrounding him and taking the time to pose for photos before heading to TAO Nightclub.

“Vampire Diaries” stars Paul Wesley, Daniel Gillies and Matt Davis were also spotted at the Asian-inspired hot spot enjoying signature dishes. Joining them were fellow actors Josh Bowman, best known for his role on ABC’s “Revenge” and Charles Michael Davis of “The Originals” and “Grey’s Anatomy” fame.

Entertainment icon Snoop Dogg returned to host his 1920’s-themed Snoopadelic Cabaret residency upstairs at TAO Nightclub. Upon arriving, Snoop immediately made his way to the DJ booth to kick off his DJ Snoopadelic set. Later, as Snoop transitioned from the DJ booth to the venue’s main stage to perform, partygoers were surprised as rappers Bow Wow and Wiz Khalifa jumped in the booth in his place. Mid-performance, Wiz Khalifa joined Snoop on stage to perform their club anthem “Young, Wild and Free” to the ecstatic crowd. After Snoop finished the performance of his most iconic hits, he returned to the DJ booth to kick off his second DJ Snoopadelic set. The surprises kept coming as actor and Grammy-nominated musician Jamie Foxx hopped in the booth alongside the man of the hour to sing an a cappella version of “Gold Digger.” After the impromptu performance, Foxx manned the booth as Snoop went out into the middle of the room on the venue’s catwalk to dance and interact with the crowd. Rapper 2 Chainz also joined Snoop in the DJ booth and hopped on the mic for a bit.

Revelers were not the only ones being surprised throughout the night. Snoop sent out a surprise birthday cake to Wiz Khalifa, who celebrated his 27th birthday last week. Facial expressions of love and gratitude took over the rapper’s face as he stood hugging his mother and he then proceeded to bite off the top of the cake.

Actor and comedian Dax Shepard was also spotted in the crowd at a VIP table with friends.

American professional basketball player, Metta World Peace, added to the wild festivities by jumping on stage and receiving a lap dance and strip show by a “mini” Miley Cyrus.

SUPERSTAR DJ Tiesto Goes Gold! Throws Gold Party In Vegas At Hakkasan!

This past weekend (Friday, Sept. 12) Hakkasan Las Vegas resident DJ Tiësto took over the nightlife complex for a special Gold Party edition of his “Club Life” affair as he celebrated not one but two of his 2014 singles going Gold as certified by the RIAA. The two singles, “Wasted” featuring Matthew Koma and “Red Lights” have both reached over 500,000 digital sales making this Tiësto’s first Gold plaques in the US.

The turntable sensation transformed the fourth level of the destination into the ultimate celebration as thousands of electronic music fans and partygoers alike flocked to the hot spot. Taking the stage around 1 a.m., Tiësto began his heart-pumping set while the energy of the main room erupted with excitement. Kicking the celebration into full party mode the DJ icon was surrounded by Hakkasan’s stunning model cocktail servers as he was presented with two commemorative gold plaques by representatives of Casablanca Records. As gold confetti burst into the air, Tiësto held his trophy high above his head for all of his fans to see and cheers took over the hot spot. Adding to the excitement, fellow DJ and Hakkasan featured artist Afrojack made a surprise appearance in the DJ booth to celebrate with his good friend. It was truly a night to remember as Tiësto spun his hits into the early hours of the morning and closed down the party around 4 a.m.
