Wet Republic Daylife Brings Big Name Talent To Party With!

WET REPUBLIC at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino and Angel Management Group will up the daylife ante by launching pool season into high gear with the reveal of its highly anticipated, star-studded DJ line up for March and April. Beginning Saturday, March 30, Vegas’ hottest pool party destination will welcome the world’s most celebrated electronic music artists who will provide non-stop, action-filled entertainment for guests.

The line-up consists of (in alphabetical order) Calvin Harris, deadmau5, Hardwell, NERVO, Steve Aoki and Tommy Trash, among others. Pool season officially will be in full effect as partygoers flock to the iconic daytime hot spot for its Grand Opening weekend blowout Saturday, April 20 and Sunday, April 21.

·       Saturday, March 30 – Tommy Trash: WET REPUBLIC kicks off the 2013 summer pool season with GRAMMY Award-nominated Australian DJ and producer Tommy Trash when he makes his daytime debut, spinning his highly celebrated anthems. Thomas Olsen, better known as Tommy Trash, has been rocking the charts and dance floors ever since appearing on the scene in 2006. The Electro-House DJ has created high-profile remixes for heavy hitters including Swedish House Mafia, deadmau5, Kaskade and many more.

·       Sunday, April 7 – Calvin Harris: Pool season will be in full swing as bikini-clad beauties line up to see GRAMMY Award-winning Calvin Harris when he launches the first date of his daytime residency. Harris has earned multiple awards including Best Electronic Video for “Feel So Close” and Video of the Year for “We Found Love” featuring Rihanna at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. He also took home a GRAMMY Award for Best Short Form Music Video at the recent 2013 GRAMMY Awards. Additionally, he was nominated for “Best British Male” at the BRIT Awards in 2010 and 2013 and was named the “World’s Most Successful Songwriter” in 2011 and 2012 by Music Week.

·       Sunday, April 14 – Tommy Trash and NERVO: Australian-born DJ Tommy Trash arrives at the daylife mecca when he mans the decks of the “It” pool party and spins his hits for the masses. It will be a Sunday filled with non-stop entertainment as the beloved DJ duo NERVO takes over the venue and keeps the party going until the sun goes down. The celebrated pair, featuring Australian sisters Mim and Liv Nervo, made a name for themselves in the U.S. after opening for Nicki Minaj and Britney Spears on the Femme Fatale Tour. They also have played at a number of music festivals including Electric Daisy Carnival, Lollapalooza and Ultra Music Festival.

·       Saturday, April 20 – Hardwell: The Revealed Recordings impresario and dance music juggernaut Hardwell kicks off WET REPUBLIC’s highly anticipated Grand Opening weekend when he showcases his mind-blowing sets for thousands of bronzed poolgoers. The Dutch Big Room House producer and DJ broke into the scene in 2009 and has since produced a handful of chart-topping singles including his collaboration with Tiësto, “Zero 76,” “Spaceman,” and most recently his stellar track “Apollo.”

·       Sunday, April 21 – deadmau5: Summertime revelers are in for a treat as dance music phenomenon deadmau5 continues the mayhem of WET REPUBLIC’s Grand Opening weekend and heads home to where daylife began.GRAMMY-nominated deadmau5 is known for his infectious music and iconic mau5head donned during his performances. Paving the path for the electronic music era, the entertainer became the first electronic dance music artist to grace the cover of Rolling Stone in June 2012 and gave a legendary performance at the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards in 2012, marking the first-ever televised celebration of electronic music.

·       Saturday, April 27 – Calvin Harris: The daytime party continues as the “We Found Love” artist Calvin Harris returns, creating a must-see, must-experience bash that will leave poolgoers wanting more. Harris has worked in various capacities with a number of internationally known recording artists including Rihanna, Florence Welch, Ellie Goulding, Dizzee Rascal, Cheryl Cole and Kylie Minogue and will take over the daylife destination, showcasing his unrivaled talents.

·       Sunday, April 28 – Steve Aoki: Fans will line up en masse as the highly celebrated DJ and producer Steve Aoki heads to the Vegas hot spot and reveals his exclusive party. Aoki will transform the ultra pool when he debuts his futuristic daytime party AOKIFY SPLASH VEGAS that will bring his popular AOKIFY mobile app to life. Tuesday, March 19 hip-hop icons Rev Run and Ruckus put on an unrivalled DJ and MC set for clubgoers at Angel Management Group’s PURE Nightclub inside Caesars Palace during the official Nightclub & Bar Convention and Trade Show party. The talented duo arrived on the red carpet just after midnight where they stopped and posed for photographers before making their way into the hot spot. At 12:30 a.m. Ruckus took over the DJ booth and began to hype up the packed mega-club preparing them for the arrival of the one-and-only Rev Run of the influential hip-hop group Run-D.M.C.

Around 1 a.m. the legendary rapper appeared inside the DJ booth located on the main stage and hopped on the mic. “You all are rocking with the king of rock!” he said and the nightclub rumbled as his fans cheered with excitement. Beginning their set with a few remixes of classic songs including “I Love Rock And Roll” and “Jump Around” the energetic twosome immediately had partygoers on their feet. Addressing his fans once again, Rev Run asked the crowd, “Where are all my old school fans?” and continued to perform fan favorite rock and hip-hop mixes.

The historian Rev Run exclaimed that real hip-hop had ascended on Las Vegas as the guys put on a non-stop set while performing an unpredictable mixture of classic club bangers and today’s top hits that had clubgoers dancing and singing along. At 2 a.m. Rev Run made his way out of the night spot and Ruckus kept the party going a little bit longer before he closed out the high-energy set. PURE Nightclub was certainly a sight to see as the celebrated pair transformed the destination and took their fans on an action-packed musical journey back in time.

Friends of the Shade Tree will host its Eleventh Annual “Girls Night Out” charity gala on Thursday, May 16 at The ACT Nightclub inside The Shoppes at The Palazzo Las Vegas.

The largest annual fundraiser for The Shade Tree will kick off with Emmy Award-winning FOX 5 anchor, Jason Feinberg, resuming his role as emcee of the extravagant event beginning at 6:30 p.m. Attendees will be able to bid on a variety of items in a live auction hosted by celebrated auctioneer, Christian Kolberg, as well as a silent auction. Entertainment for the opulent occasion will be provided by the famed Las Vegas headliner, Zowie Bowie. Southern Wine & Spirits will generously donate libations for the evening and The ACT will provide food and a special performance by the venue’s multi-talented cast.

Proceeds from the night will benefit The Shade Tree, a local organization that provides safe refuge to physically abused and homeless women, children and their pets.
