Tickets Now On Sale For 12th Annual Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational

The 12th Annual Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational (MJCI), hosted by ARIA Resort & Casino at Shadow Creek, returns to Las Vegas for the third consecutive year, April 4 –7, 2013.  Tickets are now on sale for one of celebrity golf’s most popular events, giving spectators access to the acclaimed Shadow Creek Golf Course as the biggest names in sports and entertainment gather for four days of competitive golf and special events, while raising money for several worthy charitable organizations. 

Since its inception in 2001, MJCI has raised more than $6 million for charity.  This year, the event beneficiaries include the Make-A-Wish Foundation, James R. Jordan Foundation, Opportunity Village and Cats Care, the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats’ charity arm, as well as the participating celebrities’ charities of choice.

The First Chinese Lantern Festival Coming To The Venetian & The Palazzo!

The Venetian and The Palazzo announce the first Las Vegas Lantern Festival, celebrating the end of Chinese New Year. Guests will be treated to a whimsical evening of traditions and fun, including promises of good fortune and love to those who attend.  The event, sometimes called “Chinese Moon Festival,” will feature traditional dim sum, Chinese-inspired cocktails, and entertainment.

On Saturday, Feb. 23, from 7 to 9 p.m., the Lantern Festival will take place under 28 majestic lanterns hanging throughout The Palazzo Waterfall Atrium, among a traditional reflecting pool full of oranges. Guests will also be surrounded by the resort’s popular Chinese New Year art installation and décor.

Legend says the Lantern Festival is a time to celebrate and promote positive relationships between families and friends. The festival can also be a time for finding love and a lifelong companion.

Some Asian cultures consume the rice ball in a savory soup as a meal, while others use them as small sweet snacks and desserts. The significance of the rice ball is its circular shape, signifying a never-ending line of family togetherness.

The night will feature four custom cocktails, including the signature Jaina. This cocktail was created by Fusion Latin Mixology Bar mixologists Wendy Verdel-Hodges and Cynthya Halog, who were inspired by a number of exotic ingredients after walking through an Asian market one night. Other signature cocktails include the Beautiful Flower, Sleeping Dragon, and the Sweet Song.

The Beijing Trio will be the featured entertainment of the night. The trio is known for their traditional Chinese music from ancient and folkloric to contemporary.

Meet N Greet Autograph Session With Rock Bank Linkin Park Saturday!

Rock band Linkin Park will host an autograph signing session at 7 p.m. at Club Tattoo inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Saturday, Feb. 16.

Members of the band, including Chester Bennington, co-owner of Club Tattoo, will be on hand to meet fans and sign autographs. Mardi Gras Bash At PURE Nightclub Had Hip Hop Artist Fat Joe Performing

PURE Nightclub inside Caesars Palace welcomed hip-hop artist Fat Joe as he put on a special Fat Tuesday performance playing for an unforgettable Mardi Gras bash. Arriving around 1 a.m. the multi-platinum rapper joined by his entourage, took his place at his VIP booth on the main stage. Upon arrival Fat Joe immediately became center of attention as resident DJ Shift got on the mic and announced his presence. 

Shortly before his performance the rap master took time to meet and take photos with admiring fans from a nearby table. Just after 1:30 a.m. the lights in the mega-club focused center stage and Fat Joe appeared kicking off his performance with his hit “We Takin’ Over.”  The packed nightspot soared with excitement as the artist and business man put on a high-energy set playing all his fans’ favorites. Fat Joe suddenly stopped the music and addressed the audience, “I see a lot of beautiful ladies, independent ladies out there tonight,” pausing for reaction he continued, “To all my beautiful ladies, this is dedicated to you” and he segued into his chart-topper “What’s Love” and had the entire nightclub singing along. The artist continued his mini-concert as he performed his classic hits including “Get It Poppin’,”Another Round” and “Make It Rain.”  Halfway through his set the artist paid tribute to past hip-hop icons including Tupac and Notorious B.I.G. as well as today’s top artists Jay-Z and DJ Khaled. Bringing his performance to an end, Fat Joe began his song “Lean Back” and had the entire dance floor on their feet doing the artist’s famed dance move. As the track cut out and the crowd finished the song Fat Joe said “I love you Vegas,” and made his way off the stage.

The rap sensation returned to his VIP booth and spent the rest of his evening sipping cocktails, meeting fans and even inviting a few lucky admires to join him at his table. Fat Joe put on an unrivaled performance giving clubgoers the ultimate Fat Tuesday treat.
