Comedian-Magician Mac King supports Susan G. Komen..and you can too!

Comedy-Magician Mac King joins the fight to make breast cancer disappear during Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a special fundraiser benefiting Susan G. Komen of Southern Nevada. Throughout the month of October, guests who make a $5 donation after the show will receive two limited edition pink “Mac King & Susan G. Komen - Magic For a Cure” wristbands. For those that purchase two merchandise products after the show King will donate the $5 on their behalf. All proceeds will benefit Susan G. Komen of Southern Nevada. The wristbands won’t be the only pink in Mac King’s show. For the entire month of October, King will “go pink” for a cause by ditching his traditional yellow “Cloak of Invisibility” for a pink one.

“Breast Cancer is a terrible and unfortunate disease that no one should have to endure,” said King. “That’s why I’m calling upon my guests to join me in the fight to make breast cancer disappear. Wearing a nifty “Magic For A Cure” wristband is a great way to show support and raise awareness for this important cause.”

About Mac King
Now in his 12th year of headlining afternoons at Harrah’s Las Vegas, Mac King has been consistently lauded throughout his impressive run, including recently being named “Best Strip headliner” in the Las Vegas Weekly’s 2011 annual Vegas’ best awards. Las Vegas Review-Journal’s “Best of Las Vegas” readers’ poll named his show the “Best Bargain Show” for eight straight years (2003-2011) and deemed him “Favorite Male Las Vegan” in 2008. King has also been honored as Magic Magazine’s “Funniest Act in Magic,” the World Magic Awards’ “Best Comedy Magician” and the Magic Castle’s “Magician of the Year.”

Sought after worldwide, King has made television appearances on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” and all five of NBC’s “The World’s Greatest Magic” TV specials. King has also made several appearances at the “Just For Laughs” comedy festival in Montreal, and was a featured performer in the “Masters of Magic” series at the Luminato Festival in Toronto, Canada.

Spend some time on the mountain! The Resort at Mt. Charleston has lots going on!

This year, Halloween and the celebration of the Fall season, have found a new home high in the mountains at The Resort on Mount Charleston.  Just a short 30 minute drive from Las Vegas, the air is turning crisp, the leaves are colorful and the picturesque surroundings are rustic and relaxing. This month, The Resort on Mount Charleston is offering even more reasons to hop in the car, grab the kids and stay and play with a pair of family-focused events. On October 29, the resort is hosting an indoor Family Halloween Party and on October 30, they will host an outdoor Fall Festival.

To kick-off Halloween and create a cool and creepy experience, the Aspen Room at The Resort on Mount Charleston will become host to a spooky and fun night for the whole family on Saturday, October 29 from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.  Parents and kids alike will swig from a witch’s brew, design spooky Halloween crafts, compete in costume contests and
enjoy the rare opportunity to trick or treat throughout the hotel.  Additionally, there will also be a special spooky movie-time complete with popcorn balls and Halloween-themed refreshments.  Be sure to explore the Experiments Gone Wrong Laboratory with creepy things to see and feel. The cost is only $5 per child.

Making it a weekend to remember, The Resort on Mount Charleston is also hosting an outdoor Fall Festival the next day on Sunday, October 30 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Guests will enjoy traditional autumn activities including hay rides, a petting zoo, pumpkin decorating contest for the kids and all the best foods of fall – cider, doughnuts, caramel apples and more. Be sure to check out the live entertainment and the fresh produce from Valley Farms during the festival. Admission is $10 per child and $15 for adults. Admission includes one ride and one entrance to petting zoo. Each additional hay ride or petting zoo entry is $5.

Instead of driving back and forth to home, The Resort on Mount Charleston has designed a special room package for the weekend.  Guests can check-in on October 29 and check out October 30 and get a room and two child entries into both the Halloween Party and Fall Festival, along with two adult entries into the Fall Festival for $144.90 plus tax and resort fee – based on availability.
