Ben Harper made his debut in 1994 with Welcome to the Cruel World, which was subsequently certified Gold. In 2005, he received GRAMMY awards for “Best Pop Instrumental Performance” for his single “11^th Commandment” and for “Best Traditional Soul Gospel Album” for There Will Be A Light, featuring the Blind Boys of Alabama. His three most recent studio albums – Both Sides of the Gun (2006), Lifeline (2007)
and White Lies for Dark Times (2009) – debuted in the Top 10 of The Billboard 200. Harper formed Fistful of Mercy with Dhani Harrison and Joseph Arthur and the trio released the album As I Call You Down in 2010.

On May 17, Virgin Records will release Give Till It’s Gone, Ben Harper’s 10th studio album. The songs on Give Till It’s Gone are nothing less than a revelation, expressing one man's struggle, confusion, and, ultimately, redemption. Harper has never been afraid
to dig deep into his emotions for his songs, but there's a sense of maturity and experience on Give Till It's Gone that adds new weight to his efforts.

Estelle Performs at Chateau Vegas..electrifies!!

The energy level was through the roof last night at Chateau Nightclub & Gardens www.chateaunightclublv.com at Paris Las Vegas as Grammy Award winning singer and songwriter, Estelle, put on a show that the holiday weekend partygoers won’t soon forget.

The sensational R&B artist, dressed in Nicole Miller shorts, a Claudia top and Charlotte Olympia shoes, looked stunning as she walked and flashed her gorgeous smile on the evening’s red carpet.

Once inside, Estelle turned the lavish nightclub’s VIP area into her own personal catwalk. Performing her hits “American Boy,” “One Love,” and a cover of Mary J. Blige’s “Real Love,” her energizing choruses could be felt through the walls and ignited the already lively crowd into a giant dance party.

Hill Harper from CSI: New York made a special appearance and enjoyed Estelle’s performance from the VIP area.

The holiday weekend wrapped up with a Monday celebration at Marquee that lasted from day until night.  An overcast morning gave way to sunny skies at Marquee Dayclub with Porter Robinson, Benny Benassi and Gareth Emery manning the decks.  Benassi treated fans to a live vocal performance from Gary Baker with the hit “Cinema” and later LFMAO and the Party Rock crew took over the booth for one song as they filmed a music video.

Benny Benassi returned at night followed by DJ Chuckie, drawing notable names including Paris Hilton and DJs Kaskade and Axwell.  Around 3 am the crowd was in store for another surprise with a performance from Redfoo and Skyblu of LMFAO.  Apl.de.ap from the Black Eyed Peas even got on the mic as well.

 Special Olympics Fundraiser Invites Adventure-Seekers to Rappel  51 Stories Down Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino Masquerade Tower

If you’re an adrenaline junkie looking for something to do in Sin City, consider stepping off the roof of the 51-story Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino and enjoy the views as you rappel more than 400 feet to the safety of ground.

On October 15, the Rio will host Over the Edge, a fundraising rappelling event to benefit Special Olympics Nevada. As many as 100 people will make their way down the northwest side of the building on two ropes – all to raise money for the charity. Flamingo Las Vegas headliner, Nathan Burton, UFC Champion Chuck “Iceman” Liddell, UNLV mascot Hey, Reb and other local celebrities will join Special Olympics in their quest to raise as much as $100,000 from the event.

“The red and purple glass of Rio is iconic to Las Vegas , but how many people can say they walked on that glass?” asked Maggie Schwarz, Regional Vice President of Special Olympics Nevada. “This is the perfect location to go Over the Edge and we are so excited that Caesars Entertainment and the team at Rio are brave enough to partner again with Special Olympics Nevada. Take our dare and join us too!”

Participants, known as “edgers,” must raise at least $1,000 in support of the activities and programs of Special Olympics Nevada and pre-register at www.OverTheEdgeLasVegas.com to partake in this once-in-a-lifetime experience. All funds will go directly toward providing training opportunities, equipment, uniforms and practice venues for some 4,000 Special Olympics athletes in Nevada .

“We’re excited about offering this amazing experience while raising much-needed funds for our Las Vegas athletes,” said Rick Collett, CEO and President of Special Olympics Nevada. “Our athletes have a lot of courage and take risks everyday when they try to do something thought to be impossible by most. Likewise, this event will take a lot of courage for anyone who decides to rappel 400 feet in the middle of Las Vegas .”

All “edgers” must be in good health and weigh no less than 100 pounds and no more than 300 pounds. The rappelling will be supervised by Over the Edge, a Nova Scotia company that has organized dozens of rappelling events all over North America .

 This is from acclaimed Las Vegas Vet Dr. O'Sullivan...

I was going to drive some big dogs (maybe 5-6) up to Boise Idaho to meet Trisha of RisingPheonix Mastiffs, BUT INSTEAD she is going to drive her huge vehicle and maybe a trailer down here to pick up 12 - 13 "in need" giant breeds in SoCal and here in Vegas this weekend. The only flaw in the plan is gas money. I have been told it runs her about a $1000 in gas for the round trip.

I have donated $300 to the cause, and I want to ask for your help. No donation is too small and everything we can do to help this many giants at one time is worth every penny (in my opinion) She is planning on doing this amazing, life saving drive this upcoming weekend, so please let me know if you can help and how much. I will figure out a way to collect these donations for her, OR most of you know where I live. Please feel free to cross post this request and lets see what we can do.

Diddy amped up the crowd by getting on the mic and singing “Mo Money Mo Problems”. Other celebs at the poolside bash included Jeff Timmons from 98 Degrees, Flo Rida, Christina Milian and Akon.

Labor Day weekend celebrations continued on Saturday in Las Vegas at TAO Beach, TAO, LAVO and Marquee Nightclub and Dayclub.

 

At TAO Beach Christina Milian was spotted in the DJ booth with DJ Reach as he spun for pool goers while EDX and Markus Schulz kept the party going at Marquee Dayclub.

Saturday night LMFAO and DJ Vice rocked the crowd at TAO Nightclub while Z-Trip held court at LAVO.  Redfoo, SkyBlu and the 30 person strong Party Rock crew performed at TAO for the packed club with favorites including “I’m in Las Vegas B***ch” and the “Party Rock Anthem”.  They sprayed the crowd with Champagne and shots.  Taking in the scene from a table on the dance floor were Paris and Nicky Hilton and LMFAO made sure to give them shout outs during their show.  SkyBlu led the entire club in singing “Happy Birthday” to Redfoo in celebration of his 36^th birthday and the birthday boy was surprised with a four tiered cake from Gimme Some Sugar.  Redfoo immediately sampled the creation and the crowd erupted.  Paris and Nicky joined DJ Vice in the booth for a bit and later in the night  Paris and SkyBlu danced on the TAO catwalk to “Sexy and I Know It” as the crowd cheered on.

 

Earlier in the evening Paris and Nicky fueled up for the party with dinner at LAVO, enjoying their favorite dishes including the Seafood Plateau, Kobe Meatballs, Tuna Tartare and a platter of signature desserts.  After partying at TAO they hit Marquee nightclub in the wee hours of the morning.

 

At Marquee DJs Blake Jarrell, Avicii and Cosmic Gate packed the club.  Deadmau5 checked out the scene after his concert at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and was overheard raving about Marquee’s 40 ft tall LED screen and DJ stage.  Will.I.Am and Apl.d.Ap of the Black Eyed Peas were spotted in the club and Craig Robinson of The Office could be seen in the club’s main room during Cosmic Gate’s set.

"The Situation" takes over LAX Nightclub..totally SNF look!

 Saturday, September 3, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino of the hit MTV series ‘Jersey Shore’ kicked off Labor Day Weekend at LAX Nightclub inside Luxor Hotel and Casino. The infamous reality star arrived at the Las Vegas hotspot just after 12:30 a.m. to hundreds of fans gathered around waiting to get a glimpse of Sorrentino. The fit guido, known for showing off his six pack abs decided to keep them under wraps as he opted instead to show off his stylish white sports coat from his upcoming clothing line named “The Situation” debuting later this month.

After posing for photos on the red carpet, he was escorted through the packed house, stopping to say hi to a few fans before heading to his VIP area located on the main stage. After settling in at his table, he graciously walked up to a number of all female admirers that were vying for his attention. From that point on, it became a “Situation” party where he was seen dancing, drinking and enjoying the dynamic atmosphere of the nightclub. Sorrentino partied until the early hours of the morning with brothers Mark and Frank Sorrentino at the hotspot.
