Brooklyn! Talib Kweli in Vegas! Takes the stage

One of Brooklyn’s finest underground artists Talib Kweli took over the Sin City as he put on a riveting performance at LAX Nightclub inside Luxor Hotel and Casino. Upon arrival, the entertainer and a group of friends settled into their exclusive VIP booth. Also seated in the VIP area was Denver Nuggets forward, Wilson Chandler. As the player’s group was escorted to their section he stopped by Kweli’s table where the two exchanged words.

Around 1:30 a.m. the night was well under-way when the musician took the main stage inside the mega-club.  The massive group of clubgoers screamed with excitement as the well-respected artist began his live set. Pleasing the crowd with his smooth lyrics and high-energy the unforgettable performance included a collaboration of hits. Covering The Notorious B.I.G. and a Kanye West single that he was featured on the fans sang along. Cheers soared through the nightclub when the lyricist addressed the partygoers asking them, “One more?” and breaking into his popular track “Get By” closing out his set.

Following the mini concert, Kweli returned to his VIP section and partied with his crew early into the morning at Vegas’ top nightspot.

Tommy Bahama brings on new summer items! Tacos, Margaritas!

Summer is the time to lighten up: Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar celebrates the season by turning up the heat with a new menu featuring tasty tacos, icy margaritas and refreshing summer cocktails. Light and full of flavor, their take on this classic street fare features layers of tastes, all made from scratch with the culinary craftsmanship of Tommy Bahama. Slow roasted, house-marinated meats, luscious seafood and scratch salsas made of the finest ingredients the season offers. Casual and cool, the new taco menu will be served all day at Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar Town Square Las Vegas. Just as the days of summer pass too quickly, the taco and drink menu is available for a limited time only through September.

All tacos can be ordered as a meal or an appetizer depending on how hungry you are and with options like the Crab & Mango taco featuring lump blue crab nestled in a crispy corn tortilla with watercress, mango salsa and chipotle aioli don’t be surprised if you are suddenly addicted.  If you are a traditionalist, the Street Carnitas, won’t disappoint with a light and tangy combination of slow-roasted Kalua pork, cilantro, pickled onion, salsa verde and lime sour cream on a soft multigrain tortilla. If you prefer a little Caribbean heat, opt for the Jamaican Jerk featuring hand shredded, spiced chicken,  lime slaw, avocado, mango salsa and chipotle aioli. The Langosta features succulent lobster sautéed in tomato relish, topped with bibb lettuce, queso fresco in crispy blue corn tortillas.  Don’t fret beef lovers; Spicy Angus chimichurri takes center stage in the Gaucho, with pickled onion, green apple slaw and fire-roasted salsa on a multigrain tortilla. The classic fish taco gets a serious upgrade in the Hawaiian: grilled, lightly seasoned Mahi-Mahi, is dressed with crunchy shredded cabbage, roasted jalapeño aioli and fresh pineapple salsa. Rounding out the line-up, the Sonoran takes grapefruit marinated mojo pork and serves it up with pickled onion, cactus petal relish and lime sour cream.  And if you are still hungry, don’t miss Tommy Bahama’s Spiked Guacamole, made to order with fire-roasted salsa and freshly made chips it’s the perfect starter or side for this selection of savory tacos.

When the temperature rises and the days get long, the best accompaniment to a tasty taco is something icy cold and Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar introduces four new seasonal margaritas along with three fresh market cocktails designed to keep things light and refreshing. The Sedona Skinny Margarita begins with Tres Generaciones Anejo served with orange liqueur, grapefruit soda and agave nectar. A bite of citrus is the kicker in the Pink Grapefruit Margarita, with hand-pressed grapefruit, orange liqueur with Cazadores Reposado tequila. A winning combination of sweet and spicy, the Chile-Lime Margarita adds hand-pressed jalapeño and lime, cayenne pepper and orange liqueur to smooth Sauza Conmemorativo. The Prickly Pear Margarita blends Sauza, Cointreau, Scratch Sour and prickly pear for a slightly sweet but fabulously tart margarita. Cocktails also feature the freshest market ingredients: The Big Kicker is as advertised, with Grey Goose, St-Germaine Elderflower, hand-pressed jalapeño and Scratch Sour, blended for a taste that packs a wallop. Sweet and smooth, Easy Does It mixes Ketel One, watermelon, honey, orange juice and grapefruit soda to make a perfectly thirst-quenching drink. Ripe and fruity, the One-Two Punch pairs Cruzan Silver, Cruzan Raspberry, passion fruit, and pomegranate and mango juice for a tasty treat.

Kardashians at TAO

Saturday night Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries celebrated their upcoming nuptials with separate Las Vegas bachelor and bachelorette parties at TAO at The Venetian and LAVO at The Palazzo.

The bride-to-be was joined by her mom Kris, sisters Khloe and Kourtney, friends including La La Anthony, Brittny Gastineau, Larsa Pippen, Robin Antin, Malika and Khadijah Haqq, Allison Azoff and her future sister-in-law Kaela Humphries.  The women arrived in style, flying in on one of The Palazzo Las Vegas private jets. The party started with dinner in TAO’s private dining room as Kim donned a bachelorette sash and tiara for a feast of her favorite dishes. In the middle of dinner she was surprised as Mighty Mike, a little person clad in sequin pants, vest and a bow tie, hopped up on the table to entertain the room full of women.  The group toasted with Midori cocktails and then made their way to the nightclub, taking over several tables on the dance floor.
Getting cake at TAO
In the club star struck fans clamored to get close to the group, snapping photos with their cells phones.  Kim got on the mic, telling the crowd, “This is one of my last few weekends as a single girl!”  DJ Vice played “Going To The Chapel” and the whole club sang along as the bride-to-be was surprised with a cake from Gimme Some Sugar.  The girls danced the night away, with Khloe Kardashian Odom serving as the unofficial photographer, taking photos of her family and friends.
The boys at LAVO

Meanwhile Kris Humphries was the man of honor at his bachelor party, arriving at The Venetian and starting the celebration with cocktails and beer pong at Lagasse’s Stadium.   Later in the night Kris and friends dined on the terrace of LAVO Italian restaurant, overlooking the Las Vegas Strip.  Joining the New Jersey Nets player were teammate Jordan Farmer, Jason Kapono of the Philadelphia 76ers and future brother-in-law, Lamar Odom of the Los Angeles Lakers.  Also in the group were Kim’s brother Rob Kardashian, Kourtney’s boyfriend Scott Disick and family friend Jonathan Cheban, as well as college friends from Indiana.  The gentlemen enjoyed Opus One wine and Ace of Spades Champagne along with their meal of signature dishes.  They wrapped up dinner with cigars before heading up to the club.
Kris at LAVO

Once upstairs in the club at LAVO DJ Skratchy gave Kris a shout out, sending the crowd into a frenzy that had the groom smiling.  He was surprised with a cake with his picture and the words “Property of Kim Kardashian For Life”, which caused his friends to tease him and poke straws into the sugar confection.

As the night went on, Rob Kardashian, Scott Disick and Jonathan Cheban made their way over to TAO to meet up with the girls and ultimately brought the whole group back to LAVO as Kim stopped in to say goodnight to Kris before heading to her suite.

The happy couple loved being able to celebrate their last moments of single life in their penthouse suites on The Palazzo and Venetian properties. The neighboring locations created an ideal environment for the soon to be bride and groom.

No Broken Hearts on display...Emily and Holly meet up and Party at XS!

Emily & Holly

Holly and Josh

Last night, Emily Maynard from The Bachelor was spotted with a group of her closest girlfriends at XS Nightclub’s celebrated Sunday night swim party. Fresh off her recent breakup with The Bachelor star Brad Womack, the blonde beauty is getting back into the swing of things by taking a trip with her nearest and dearest to Las Vegas. She told her fans that her entourage of pals kidnapped her for a girls weekend away which led them to the party at the Wynn Las Vegas hot spot. Although Maynard has recently revealed she wants time away from the spotlight and cameras, she ran into fellow American Sweetheart Holly Madison at the evening soiree who could relate to the pressure of media and constant camera coverage when working on reality shows. The two clicked instantly, merging their groups of friends and dancing on stage to the sounds of Manufactured Superstars. Holly even tweeted, “Finally met my twin, The Bachelor’s Emily Maynard @XSLasVegas tonight! She’s so sweet!”

Maynard was sporting a striking black dress which enhanced her bronzed skin and svelte figure. Her platinum blonde hair was sleek and sexy, straightened rather than her usual curls. While the engagement ring was obviously missing from her left hand, she donned a stunning canary diamond ring on her right, along with silver bangle bracelets and black pumps. The Southern belle sipped on champagne with her friends and enjoyed the atmosphere into the early hours of the morning.

Madison was in a much more casual attire, wearing her signature tube socks, a jean skirt and vintage t-shirt featuring the artwork from Boston’s self-titled album cover. Along with Holly’s World co-stars Angel Porrino and Josh Strickland, she was seen on stage throughout the night, posing for funny photos with her friends and dancing the night away.
