Annual Party for local non-profit Golden Rainbow sets new record for fundraising!

Local HIV/AIDS nonprofit Golden Rainbow hosted its 25th annual “Ribbon of Life” fundraising spectacular at Paris Théâtre inside Paris Las Vegas Hotel on Sunday, June 26. Prior to the show, guests were greeted at the theatre entrance with fancy feather boas to celebrate the show’s silver anniversary. This year’s “Ribbon of Life” drew a record-setting crowd with 1,158 people in attendance including Siegfried Fischbacher from Siegfried & Roy. Hosted by 8 News Now anchor Chris Saldaña and Edie the Entertainer, each number left the audience curious for more. Hit acts included “Big Spender” by Fantasy, “The Color Purple” by THE LION KING, Tarzan’s “Everything I Am” by PEEPSHOW headliner and co-star of E!’s “Holly’s World” Josh Strickland, “Footloose” by Human Nature and Clint Holmes’ rendition of “West Side Story” which earned a standing ovation from the crowd, just to name a few.

Following the spectacular, show attendees enjoyed an after-party at Chateau Nightclub and Gardens and celebrated with a silent auction, music, cocktails and a cake designed by Freed’s Bakery of Las Vegas. The benefit raised more $151,000, surpassing the previous year’s goal by $20,000. Money raised during the event directly supports Golden Rainbow’s mission to provide housing and financial assistance to individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS.

Shaquille O'Neal was the biggest kid in the candy store yesterday afternoon as the NBA phenom celebrated his retirement and satisfied his sweet tooth at Sugar Factory  www.SugarFactory.com.  at Paris Las Vegas. O'Neal, who was accompanied by girlfriend, reality star Nicole Alexander, sampled sweets in Sugar Factory's retail store, picking up heaping handfuls of sour gummy candies, chocolate-covered gummy bears  and a few tank tops for Alexander. The doting duo loved Sugar Factory's signature Couture Pops and playfully posed for photos with fans.

Following their shopping excursion, O'Neal and Alexander grabbed a private booth at The Chocolate Lounge inside Sugar Factory American Brasserie and indulged in milk chocolate and cookies and cream  milkshakes, along with a plate full of handmade chocolate truffles.

Also spotted at the sweetest spot on the Strip was Indiana Pacers player, Tyler Hansbrough. The NBA player was enjoying Sugar Factory American Brasserie’s signature Red Velvet pancakes at the restaurant with a group of friends. He also stopped to look around the sprawling retail section and check out the selection of candy.

Sugar Factory American Brasserie is an American take on a traditional French brasserie, serving delicious cuisine all day, and all night, along with an oversized retail store and signature Chocolate Lounge. Nicole Scherzinger performs and plays in Las Vegas! All at Marquee Dayclub

Nicole Scherzinger celebrated her upcoming 33rd birthday with a weekend in Las Vegas.  The pop star and judge of the X-Factor started the Vegas vacation relaxing in the sun at Marquee Dayclub on Friday.

Friday night the solo artist and lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls dined at LAVO, enjoying signature dishes before heading up to the nightclub where she was surprised with birthday cupcakes.  Scherzinger danced on the banquette with glow sticks and a blinking ring, and being extremely gracious, she invited several club goers to join her for drinks.

The party continued Saturday afternoon as she returned to Marquee Dayclub, commanding a cabana and taking in the sounds of DJs Roger Sanchez and Dirty South with a surprise set by ATB.  She was treated to a cake designed by Gimme Some Sugar before hopping into the DJ booth with Roger Sanchez, jumping, dancing and whipping her hair as fans cheered.

The celebrating wrapped up Saturday night at TAO.  After walking the red carpet in a Jean Feres Couture dress, Scherzinger took time to greet 50 fans in the nightclub’s Opium room before sitting down to dinner under the watchful eye of TAO’s famed Buddha.  She made a special request for TAO’s popular Sea Bass dish, and made a game out of the restaurant’s Giant Fortune Cookie dessert, doling out the fortunes to each of her friends and having them read them aloud.

Upon arriving in the nightclub she grabbed light sticks which she waved around as she danced in her skybox overlooking the club as her friends from high school joined the party.  As a five tier cake with a microphone was presented to the pop star her friends, including members of the Lion King cast and the A Cappella group Mosaic, sang happy birthday.  As the song came to an end, Nicole grabbed the mic, shouting out, “What’s up Vegas?”.  DJ Vice promptly began to play her new single “Right There” featuring 50 Cent and she surprised the entire club with an impromptu performance.

The birthday girl looked stunning throughout the weekend with hair and make-up by Violet Hour Hair | Nails | Beauty at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

From MTV’s “Jersey Shore” fame, the reality star closed the night at Palms and performed to thousands at Rain Nightclub. A red, white and green carpet was rolled out for him and fans as they entered the club.

Music superstar and budding pop culture icon, Nicki Minaj, held her official Femme Fatal Tour after-party at Gallery Nightclub (www.GalleryLV.com ) at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino last night. The self-proclaimed “Harajuku Barbie” was done up in true fashion, sporting curve-hugging leggings, a pink crop jacket and a bleach-blonde wig as she walked Gallery's red carpet. Also joining her on the carpet was singer Taio Cruz, looking great in a leather jacket and dark sunglasses.
