In our return to regular rotation at Tropicana Cinemas, we've consistently drawn 100+ people in crowds, topped off by a completely sold our Halloween show, with every seat filled. Plus, the efforts many of you to help spread the word of our show around the Las Vegas area is most appreciated, and we thank you deeply.

Palms Casino Resort and pop culture and comedic icon Pauly Shore team up for an online video contest, Warm Up For Pauly, a sweepstakes for comics to win the chance to warm up the crowd – live and on stage – before ‘Pauly Shore’s Vegas Is My Oyster’ variety show inside the Pearl on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011.
Comics are encouraged to upload a one-minute video to the Palms Facebook page of their best comedic material for a chance to win the opportunity to warm up the crowd for ‘PaulyShore’s Vegas Is My Oyster’ show. Five finalists will be selected and the Grand Prize winner will be chosen by PaulyShore himself to win a five-minute opening slot and special flyaway prize pack.
Grand Prize:
One grand prize winner will receive a special flyaway prize pack for two including two nights at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, a five-minute opening slot at ‘Pauly Shore’s Vegas Is My Oyster’ show on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, two tickets to attend the show, airfare and ground transportation.
Second Prize:
Four remaining finalists will each receive two tickets to attend the show on Sunday, Jan. 9.
Every entrant will be given a special 2-for-1 ticket offer for participating.

‘Pauly Shore’s Vegas Is My Oyster’ will showcase a mix of comedy from some of the hottest stand-ups on the comedy circuit today, as well as live music, hilarious skits and a lot of hot women and debauchery.
Featured comedians performing throughout the show include: the stunning Amber Lancaster (MTV’s The Hard Times of RJ Berger) musician Dave Navarro, adult actress Bree Olson, Playboy Radio host Andrea Lowell and everyone’s favorite tattooed home wrecker, Michelle Bombshell McGee. Other performers include: Charlyne Yi (Semi-Pro and Knocked Up), Faizon Love (Couples Retreat, Def Comedy Jam), Andy Dick (television personality), Maz Jobrani (Axis of Evil Tour, Friday After Next), April Macie (voted Hottest Female Comic on Howard Stern) and a never-before seen, R-rated Carrot Top (Las Vegas headliner). Pre-taped variety acts and skits featuring comedians Tom Green (Road Trip, Charlie’s Angels) and Bobby Lee (MadTV, Pineapple Express) will be incorporated throughout the special.
The night will rise to a new level with a musical performance by Semi Precious Weapons as they return to the Pearl after previously rockin’ the house on tour with Lady Gaga. House band Electrolightz will keep the party going as the audience is taken on Shore’s wild ride. Cameras continue to roll as the party moves to a private suite for the official after-party.

Treasure Island Takes Top Honors at Magical Forest Gingerbread House Village
Competition
A ship made of gingerbread, with Santa Claus waving from the deck, took first place at Opportunity Village¹s 18th annual Magical Forest Gingerbread House Village competition earlier this month. The ship weighs around 50 pounds and took more than 30 hours to build.
The ship itself is made from traditional Austrian dough, the steps are made of chocolate, the windows are gumdrops and even St. Nick is a sugar creation. Snowy icing gives the creation a perfect winter look.
The Magical Forest is a major fundraiser for Opportunity Village, a nonprofit organization that serves people with intellectual disabilities. Its gingerbread contest draws competitors from across the city, and Treasure Island is honored to have taken the top spot.
The ship is on display at Magical Forest through the holiday season and a duplicate ship is on display at Treasure Island¹s Buffet until January 1st.

Earl Watson, basketball player for the Utah Jazz, dined at N9NE Steakhouse inside Palms Casino Resort Friday night (12.24.10). He came in with a friend around 6:45 p.m. Watson started the night out with the buffalo mozzarella and artichoke salad for his appetizer and had salmon for his entrée. Topping the evening off, he had a mango tango specialty martini for dessert.
