Love and Miss the 80's?? They are BACK at The Suncoast!
The 80's are back!! The Suncoast presents Whip It and Loveshack!
Celebrating the nostalgia and new wave nature of the ‘80s music scene, Suncoast Hotel and Casino has added two “totally rad” and popular local bands to the entertainment lineup for the summer—The Whip Its and Loveshack.
Performing ‘80s hits such as Blondie’s “One Way Or Another” and Rick Springfield’s “Jessie’s Girl,” The Whip Its have made a name for themselves in Las Vegas with their blend music and witty narrative. The group is made up of a unique ensemble of performers including vocal duo Dieter (inspired by “Sprockets” on Saturday Night Live) and Ivana Hump, a Euro dominatrix that commands the stage (and the attention of the audience) with a whip and leather ensemble. Completing the retro vibe, the singers are backed by a full band dressed as “Devo drones.”
Formed in 1995, in demand ‘80s tribute band Loveshack brings their high-energy act to the Suncoast. Singing all of the great ‘80s tunes by Human League, The Go Go’s, Madonna, Duran Duran, Soft Cell and New Order. Having performed in many hotel casinos on the Strip, Loveshack has been recognized by the readers of the Las Vegas Review-Journal and their “Best of Las Vegas” list, voted “Best Band” by the readers of Las Vegas City Life and voted “Favorite Band” by readers of What’s On. The five-member group takes on physical and costumed characteristics of recognizable ‘80s singers such as Devo, Adam Ant, Slash, Madonna and Mike D. from the Beastie Boys, offering a visual and musical representation of the decade.
Beginning July 9, The Whip Its will perform every Friday and Loveshack will perform every Saturday from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the Suncoast Lounge. Starting August 4 and throughout the remainder of the summer, both groups move poolside from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., The Whip Its on Friday and Loveshack on Saturday.

Holly’s World co-star Angel Porrino was named as one of Sin City’s up-and-comers by Blush Nightclub at Wynn Las Vegas on Tuesday night. The 21-year-old was joined by her co-star Laura Croft to celebrate the “Next Big Thing” honor. Upon receiving her plaque, the bubbly Porrino screamed loudly with excitement. Porrino and Croft drank Vodka with mixers all night and partied until 2:30 a.m.

During the week of July 26 through Aug. 1, Chef André Rochat of the Michelin-awarded Alizé at the Top of the Palms marks “Riesling Week,” a celebration of the diverse Riesling’s from Germany Austria Alsace

Playboy Club inside Palms Casino Resort hosted the Miss Playboy Club model search Sunday night (7.25.10), naming Hillary Fisher Playboy Club Miss August 2010. Fisher, 26, is from Columbia, South Carolina and is a model and pastry chef.
Earlier that afternoon, Nove Italiano hosted High Society where NBA player Shawn Marion enjoyed the scene with two friends.
Saturday, July 24
Outside linebacker for the Houston Texans, Brian Cushing came to dine at N9NE Steakhouse on Saturday (7.24.10). Cushing arrived with a lady friend at 6 p.m. They enjoyed the lobster pot stickers and crispy chicken wontons for appetizers. The football star also enjoyed the Kobe burger for dinner and had S’mores for dessert. Also at the steakhouse was Drew Gooden, basketball player for the Milwaukee Bucks and Shawn Marion, basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks. They came in with a group of 10 around 9:30 p.m. In addition, Mike Bibby, point guard for the Atlanta Hawks came in to dine with a group of 20 around 7:15 p.m. and Pete Rose, former major league baseball player and manager stopped by with a friend at 8:15 p.m.
Over at Moon Nightclub, Kevin Durant, basketball player for the Oklahoma City Thunder came to party with 20 friends. They sat at a table drinking Ketel One and mixers. After dinner at N9NE Steakhouse, Shawn Marion and his 14 friends popped by to party. Also at the club was actor, Mekhi Phifer, best known for his multi-year role as Dr. Greg Pratt on ER. He came in with a friend to have a few drinks. Rapper, Wale also came in with seven friends. Wale took the microphone and surprised the crowd with a performance.

At Palms Pool & Bungalows inside Palms Casino Resort was Joseph Simmons, better known as Rev Run on Friday (7.23.10). Rev Run entertained the crowd and performed at the pool. His daughters, Vanessa and Angela Simmons, known for starring in MTV’s reality show Run's House and its spin-off show Daddy's Girls, came to support their dad. They sat in a cabana with six friends. Also at the pool was DeSean Jackson, wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles and Shawn Marion, basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks. In addition, Nick Cannon, actor, comedian, rapper and television personality stopped by with eight friends and partied in a cabana. He did surprise the crowd by singing a few songs before Rev Run took the stage.
At N9NE Steakhouse, Mike Bibby, point guard for the Atlanta Hawks came in with a party of 20 people around 8 p.m. He had the rock shrimp for an appetizer along with a big filet and sides of mac and cheese, creamed corn and the lobster-mashed potatoes. After a long day at the pool, Rev Run came in for dinner with a friend around 8 p.m. He enjoyed the 22 oz porterhouse with Alaskan king crab legs, mac and cheese and asparagus.
Also at the steakhouse was Glen Davis, basketball player for Boston Celtics. He came in with a party of 10 people around 11:30 p.m. He ordered a variety of appetizers for the table including the rock shrimp, lobster pot stickers and chicken wontons. For dinner, Davis had a filet along with a side of asparagus
Actor Matthew Perry, better known for his role as Chandler Bing on the sitcom Friends came to dine at Nove Italiano with four people at 10 p.m.
Over at Rain Nightclub, Nick Cannon stopped by to party with 20 friends at 12:45 a.m. He took the stage to DJ for an hour.
