Rapper Lil Jon served as special celebrity DJ at Moon Nightclub inside Palms Casino Resort Tuesday night (1.26.10). Also at Moon Nightclub was Australian snowboarding personality Dingo (real name Luke Trembath).

Earlier that evening, Lil Jon dined at N9NE Steakhouse with a party of eight friends. They sat in the main dining room where Lil Jon enjoyed the shrimp scampi and a mixed green salad to start. For his main course, he had the grilled chicken breast.

Open audition to determine national anthem singer for Sam’s Town 300

One aspiring singer will get the opportunity of a lifetime before the start of the Sam’s Town 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall, the race sponsor, along with FOX 5 TV, are staging an open audition called Speedway Superstar to find a singer to perform the national anthem prior to the Feb. 27 NASCAR Nationwide Series event at LVMS.

The first audition will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 30 at Sam’s Town on Boulder Highway. All performers must sing the national anthem a cappella. The top 25 singers chosen will advance to the next round of competition on Saturday, Feb. 13. On that day, the winner will be announced.

The Jan. 30 auditions will begin at 10 a.m. Registration will open at 9 a.m. Anyone wishing to audition must arrive at Sam’s Town before noon on Jan. 30. The first 150 applicants are guaranteed an audition. For more information on the competition, please contact

“Open Wings-Broken Strings” is an opportunity for audience members to get to the heart of their favorite artists and songs in a unique and compelling way. Stripped down, intimate and acoustic, the audience will hear the strings on the guitar vibrate and buzz, the vocal chords hum and pulsate as the songs they love come to life like you never knew they could. The event will feature Red Bull specialty cocktails and will be presented in partnership with KMXB’s Mix 94.1 FM. Kyle Busch in Las Vegas - you will never guess where!

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kyle Busch was in Las Vegas to promote the Feb. 26-28 NASCAR Weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Busch stopped at HobbyTown USA in Las Vegas -- a store he used to work at and race at -- to participate in a radio-controlled (a.k.a. "RC" car) race. Busch won the four-car, five-minute race by a lap over the second-place car.
