THE IMPROV AT HARRAH’S LAS VEGAS IS SEARCHING FOR THE NEXT FUNNIEST PERSON IN THE UNITED STATES
On January 27, in conjunction with the Blu-ray Hi-Def and DVD release of Universal Studios’ critically-acclaimed movie Funny People, Budd Friedman and Mark Lonow’s Improv at Harrah’s Las Vegas will end its hunt to find the next funniest person in the country, as the three finalists take the stage at Improv at Harrah’s Las Vegas. This contest offers one aspiring comic the opportunity of a lifetime as he or she will be “spotted” by Improv founder Budd Friedman’s monocle, the same monocle that spotted and launched the careers for Jay Leno, Sarah Silverman and Adam Sandler. The winner will receive a paid gig at the Improv at Harrah’s Las Vegas over a six-night run later this year.
Comedians Alysia Wood, Jason Marcus and comedy/music duo Carlie & Doni will be flown to Las Vegas where they will perform their material in front of a live audience – and a panel of judges – who will determine the winner on January 27.
To become a finalist, comics submitted some of their funniest original material to ijoke.com. A panel of professional comics and otherwise hilarious people selected the top five videos that were received during a two-week period. These five videos were posted to ijoke.com, where the public cast its vote and determined the top three winners.
