Gala Event At City Center - Opening of Vdara! Is Las Vegas Ready?

Vdara opened with a flurry of excitement and anticipation on Tuesday night. Vanity Fair co-hosted the event and Orlando Bloom and Rosario Dawson added their star wattage to the event. With Orlando was girl-friend Miranda Kerr and Rosario's boyfriend DJ Mathieu Schreyer was spinning at the party. On hand to celebrate were also Las Vegas notables such as Joe Brown, Jones Vargas and Robin Greenspun. Spotted in the crowd Jake Saady looking handsome and dapper and Luxury's Managing Eitor Beth Schwartz. Writer's Norm Clark and Doug Elfman were also in attendance! Wonderful bubbly champagne was served and on hand were tasty treats to nibble on! Check out the picture of the "Champagne Girls" and the Sweet Tree! Earlier at the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Jim Murren (Chairman & CEO MGM.Mirage) and Bobby Baldwin (President & CEO CityCenter) gave moving speeches that touched upon what CityCenter means to Las Vegas. A bright beacon of shining glass and metal that enhances the Strip and will draw what this city thrives on...our beloved tourists! Since it's conception and now the opening much attention has been directed to the fact that the resort has been awarded LEED'S Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. This is important and much appreciated due to the fact that we all share the same planet and conserving our natural resources is a must! On Wednesday, December 2nd Louis Vuitton will illuminate the special light display at Louis Vuitton CityCenter signifying the opening of the new store at Crystals. Inspired by the vibrant, ever changing nature of the Las Vegas. “strip”, the façade comes alive at night with a dazzling light show made by over 4,000 LEDs

“Louis Vuitton has been present in the United States since 1898 and we are proud to open the 134th store in North America at CityCenter in Las Vegas,” said Daniel Lalonde, President and CEO of Louis Vuitton North America. “The CityCenter store is very special as it reflects the spirit of Las Vegas and the architecture of CityCenter, yet still remains true to the heritage of Louis Vuitton. This will be our first location on Las Vegas Boulevard; the first store in Las Vegas opened in 1988.”

This will be the largest store in North America and the 5th largest location worldwide. On the evening of December 2nd, Daniel Lalonde will first light the facade, which will run for 5 minutes at 11:00 pm, following the private dinner in the store to celebrate the opening. The illuminated facade will begin again at midnight that evening and will run every night from sunset to sunrise. Coming tomorrow a full update and pictures from the newest speakling development on the LV Strip - City Center Vdara. Mr. Feldman and Jim Murren gave great speeches that trumpet the return of Las Vegas! Words such as "Enhancement to the quality of life! Great urban spaces. Something not seen before!"
