Names Kevin Dimond as President The Epicurean Charitable Foundation Las Vegas (ECFLV) names Kevin Dimond as president to lead the rapidly growing organization. Dimond, former ECFLV vice president, takes on the role of executive board president, heading up the Foundation’s leadership team with chairwoman, Christina Clifton. In his new role, Dimond will lead the Foundation’s primary charitable endeavor of establishing college scholarships for local students seeking a career in the hospitality and culinary industries. Each year, the Foundation awards academic scholarships to Clark County high school graduates who demonstrate the academic ability, personal dedication and promise that is required to pursue a career in the hospitality industry, but lack the financial means to achieve their goals. The students receive financial support of up to $10,000 per year that goes toward tuition, books and other educational expenses and fees. Scholarship recipients also receive ongoing guidance and mentoring from the members of the Foundation throughout their educational experience. LAS VEGAS RESORT PREPARES TO CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAYS IN A BIG WAY

M Resort Spa Casino to Welcome Nation’s Tallest Christmas Tree on December 12

The M Resort Spa Casino, the newest resort to open in Las Vegas, and recent Forbes Travel Guide Four Star Award Winner, will welcome the nation’s tallest Christmas Tree, a 109-foot White Fir on December 12. The Christmas Tree is expected to wow throngs of spectators with its towering display of lights and ornaments this holiday season.

The tree will be placed in the M Resort’s Villaggio Del Sole Outdoor Entertainment and Events Piazza on December 2. It is expected to take up to a week to decorate with thousands of lights and ornaments. The M Resort will host a special Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, December 12 at 5 p.m. Hot chocolate, carolers, Christmas cookies and more will be available in the resort’s piazza.

The resort is offering a special Fa La La package for the holidays with rates starting at $110 night and a $75 dining credit. Guests can call 1-877-673-7678 and mention Group Code HMFALA9 or visit themresort.com to book.

To spread holiday cheer, the resort has also partnered with local charities Toys for Tots, Three Square and Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada to be a drop-off location for toys, canned food and coats. The 16^th Annual Cactus Lighting event will take place from 5 - 8 p.m. at the three-acre Botanical Cactus Garden adjacent to ethel’s chocolate factory in Henderson . The countdown to the lighting of more than half a million colorful lights will take place at approximately 6 p.m.

This annual Southern Nevada tradition, hosted by Southern Nevada ’s hometown chocolatier, is expected to attract hundreds of festive chocolate lovers. Santa will be present, eager to take children’s wishes and holiday entertainment will be provided throughout the evening including performances by some of Las Vegas ’ favorite entertainers alongside local school choirs singing holiday classics.
