Contest to design Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Las Vegas 350 program cover begins Aug. 1 LAS VEGAS – Las Vegas Motor Speedway is inviting all artists, designers, photographers and race fans to enter a contest to design the cover of the Las Vegas 350 NASCAR Camping World Truck Race souvenir program. The contest will run from Aug. 1-Sept. 1 and the winning entry will become the cover of the souvenir program for the Saturday, Sept. 26 event. The winning contestant also will be a VIP guest of LVMS and will receive four suite and Neon Garage passes for the Las Vegas 350 and will be photographed with the race winner in victory lane. Contestants must submit a high-resolution 8 ½” x 11” vertical (a.k.a. “portrait”) color or black-and-white design by Sept. 1. Artwork must depict themes pertaining to Las Vegas and racing. Open to any medium, including, photography, drawings and paintings. Thursday night at LAVO inside The Palazzo superstar couple Jay-Z and Beyonce were spotted enjoying a private dinner for two after her concert. The couple arrived at 11:30 pm dressed low key in jeans and sweatshirts and sat in a corner booth in the restaurant where they enjoyed specialties from the Italian menu. Also at LAVO was actress Mirtha Michelle, who dined downstairs before heading up to the nightclub to host LAVO’s Seduxion night. The Fast and The Furious Four actress sipped Grey Goose Pear cocktails and danced at her VIP table. At TAO, adult film star Tera Patrick celebrated turning 33 with dinner at the Asian bistro followed by a night in the club. Joined by husband, Spyderz rocker Evan Seinfeld, her mom and friends including chef Kerry Simon and tattoo artist Mario Barth, the group of twelve toasted with Moet Rose and enjoyed Sea Bass, Sushi and Sashimi before heading up to a VIP table in the club. Once in the club, the crowd clamored to get photos of the vixen as she was presented with a birthday cake and sparklers. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer, in town for his annual Bad Boys Hockey Tournament, returned to TAO for the third year in a row. Bruckheimer was joined by actor Cuba Gooding Jr. and a large group of sports and entertainment figures spanning six tables in the VIP moat area of the club. Chart topper Ray J arrived at TAO around 1:30 am surrounded by a bevy of beautiful women. He charmed the staff and was exceptionally polite to all around him. Kevin Federline spent Thursday afternoon and evening (7/30/09) at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino filming his new reality show for VH1. Federline and friends arrived on property around 5 p.m., stopping by the pool with camera crew in tow. After filming a quick scene, he left and returned later that night for a party in Wasted Space. Joined by his new girlfriend Victoria Prince and 13 of their friends, observers said a “noticeably heavier” Federline sipped Grey Goose vodka and Red Bulls from the comped bottle service and then decided to stiff their servers. Aside from that, sources say he was polite and seemed to be having fun. Today (7/31/09) Vince Neil was spotted checking out the sound system inside The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for his upcoming show on Saturday (8/1/09). Motley Crue headlines Crue Fest at The Joint with Godsmack, Theory of a Deadman, Drowning Pool and Charm City Devils. Sources also said Neil is one of the first guests to stay in a luxury pool villa suite in Hard Rock’s new Paradise Tower celebrating its grand opening TODAY.

It's the Mayor's Birthday - Let's Party!

Las Vegas Mayor Oscar B. Goodman will celebrate his 70th birthday in style on Friday, July 31 with a public birthday street party on Fremont Street Experience. “It’ll be a blast!” Goodman said. “I’m inviting everyone to leave their worries behind and join me for a one-of-a-kind evening that will benefit three local charities. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my birthday than to share it with the citizens of fabulous Las Vegas!” Fremont Street Experience is currently in the middle of its Summer of ’69 festival and concert series and Mayor Goodman’s birthday street party fits right in with the festivities. “We have the `happiest mayor in the universe’ and with Fremont Street Experience currently the `hippiest place in Las Vegas,’ we are proud to host the mayor’s birthday party,” said Jeff Victor, president of Fremont Street Experience. “We are excited that the mayor decided to make his birthday a public event to raise money for three fantastic local charities.” Mayor Goodman’s 70th Birthday Celebration will be a Fremont Street Experience “street party” at the First Street Stage plaza next to Golden Nugget from 7-10 p.m. on Friday, July 31. There will be special entertainment and appearances from performers throughout Las Vegas and a ceremony on stage with Mayor Goodman will take place from 8:30-9 p.m. Admission is a $20 donation and will be sold at the entrance gate. Charities will receive 100 percent of money donated with funds raised going to Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, Opportunity Village and Three Square. In celebration of the occasion, special “Good-Man Martinis” will be served inside the party on Fremont Street Experience.
