"Ante Up for Africa" Event at the Rio - WSOP!

Annie Duke, Winner Alex Bolotin and Don Cheadle Actor Don Cheadle and poker pro Annie Duke yesterday co-hosted the third annual Ante Up For Africa tournament, which is hosted on the eve of the World Series of Poker Main Event and since 2007 has raised nearly $2.5 million to build awareness for the humanitarian crisis in Darfur, Sudan, and support those who are victimized by it. Everyone who participates in Ante Up For Africa pays a $5,000 entry fee and is encouraged to donate a portion of any winnings for the immediate benefit of ENOUGH and the International Rescue Committee. Last night’s winner – Alex Bolotin of Brooklyn, NY – donated half of his winnings. In all, the third annual Ante Up For Africa raised $362,000. Event was played at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and finished late July 2, Pacific time.

LeBron James, who is hosting at TAO Beach and LAVO on July 3rd, had dinner at TAO Asian Bistro. Donning black rimmed glasses, King James sat at the head of a 15 person table located under the watchful eye of TAO’s famed Buddha. The group, which included several NBA players, enjoyed a selection of specialties from Chef Mark Andelbradt before heading to the nightclub for TAO’s Worship Thursdays. Also spotted dining with friends at TAO was Matt Dillon. After dinner the group adjourned to the owner’s table in the nightclub. Stopping by TAO nightclub was NBA player Trevor Ariza. The 24 year old, who just won the championship with the Los Angeles Lakers, verbally committed to sign with the Houston Rockets on Thursday. Ariza and a group of friends held court at a cabana at TAO Beach, taking in the nighttime outdoor oasis and celebrating with shots of Patron and Louis XIV. Over at LAVO, several notable names in town for the Ante Up poker tournament dined at the Italian eatery. Cedric the Entertainer was spotted dining with former NBA pro Kenny Smith and friends. The group enjoyed Carne Pizza, Filet and Bread Pudding for dessert and kindly took photos with a nearby table. Also dining with his wife and in-laws, talk show host Montel Williams, who shared a selection of favorites from the kitchen along with a bottle of wine. Superman Dean Cain, along with his wife and friends, also had an Italian feast, with Kobe Meatballs, Chicken Marsala, Shrimp Scampi and more, topped off with Oreo Zeppole for dessert.

Wednesday night actress Cheryl Hines dined at TAO Asian Bistro. Joined by friends, Hines enjoyed Lobster Wontons, Satay Bass, Buddha Chicken, Pad Thai, and assortment of sushi, along with white wine and cocktails. Over at LAVO, D.J. Mbenga of the Los Angeles Lakers filled up on Italian offerings from the kitchen and was later spotted in the nightclub showing off his NBA Championship ring. Mbenga and friends checked out the Vegas Royalty fashion show taking place as part of Label Junkie Wednesday and partied to the sounds of DJ Crooked!
