The Village at Lake Las Vegas adds “Movies al Fresco” to their list of fun, ongoing summer activities. These weekly, family-friendly movie nights are free and shown on the lawn at 8 p.m.

All movies will be shown on the lakeside lawn at The Village which is located in Henderson at 15 Costa di Lago. Movie-goers should be advised that no coolers are allowed at these showings. The Thursday addition of “Movies al Fresco” creates a fun-filled weekend lineup at The Village joining the already popular Friday night lakeside live music series and Saturday night’s “Jazz on the Lake ” series.

The band that was to become Blue Öyster Cult (BÖC) originated in 1967 while its members, at the behest of music critic and future manager Sandy Pearlman, were attending college in Long Island, N.Y. After undergoing several name changes and a new vocalist, the band settled on Blue Öyster Cult in 1971 and Pearlman got them signed to Columbia Records.

Throughout the tenure of BÖC’s career, it has continuously toured and released albums, including the 2007 re-mastered editions of the albums Spectres and Some Enchanted Evening. All ages welcome- Under 21 must be accompanied by an adult

The Ditch Dating Game kicked off on Friday afternoon (6.19.09) during the Ditch Fridays weekly pool party. The interactive dating game is created for Las Vegas’ sexiest single men and ladies. Two couples were selected for each game and were awarded dinner at Nove Italiano and a VIP table and bottle service at Rain Nightclub during DJ AM Fridays. The Ditch Dating Game featured Emily Gimmel of SOAPnet's reality series Southern Belles and 702.tv and N9NE Group’s own David Gutierrez. DJ Cubeechee was on hand spinning for the packed party. NHL athletes in attendance included: Alexander Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals; Evgeni Malkin, aka Geno, of the Pittsburgh Penguins was spotted catching some sun with two friends; and Jeremy Roenick of the San Jose Sharks was joined by a large group at one of the cabanas.

R&B singer-songwriter Christina Milian and Grammy Award-nominated singer-songwriter The-Dream were spotted together in a VIP cabana joined by a large group of friends, security and their manager. Mid-afternoon The-Dream took the stage and performed for the crowd. Afterwards he stayed around to chat with fans. Funny Car drag racer Ashley Force Hood, daughter of NHRA Funny Car champion John Force and first woman to win at the NHRA Summit, arrived with sister Courtney Force and several additional girls in a cabana.

UFC fighter Clay Guida was joined by three friends was spotted doing a sparring session poolside with his trainer. Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce, aka The Truth, and a friend hung out on the stage area near the DJ booth for most of the afternoon.
