Hollywood Poker Tournament Coming To The M Resort!
WET Republic Kept The Party Going All Week-End!
DJ Hardwell |
LA Kings Champagne Shower |
This
weekend WET REPUBLIC at MGM Grand was a sight to see as the ultra pool hosted
five days of non-stop entertainment in honor of the awaited Electric Daisy
Carnival weekend. The daylife destination was the place to see and be seen as
thousands of bikini-clad patrons flocked to the pool decks for a chance to see
their favorite turntable sensations.
Kicking
off the weekend was two members of the English trance music group Above &
Beyond as they manned the decks Thursday, June 19. As the festivities
continued, the cake throwing sensation Steve Aoki transformed the hot spot into
his very own Aoki’s Playhouse as he spun his beats for the masses Friday, June
20. Also joining in the fun were the 2014 Stanley Cup Champions The LA Kings as
they celebrated their victory at Vegas' "it" pool party and showed
off their legendary trophy.
On
Saturday, June 21 the celebration heated up as the world's No. 1 DJ Hardwell
had partygoers dancing to his chart-topping hits into the early hours of the
evening. The weekend hit an all-time high as the electronic music legend Tiësto
turned the daytime party into Republic of Tiësto, Sunday, June 22.
Bringing
the action-packed weekend to a close WET REPUBLIC welcomed in three
world-renowned artists to put on an unforgettable day full of iconic music
Monday, June 23. As DJ duo Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, dance music superstar
Calvin Harris and Dutch power pair W&W kept poolgoers partying until the
sun set.

Coming Up! July 11 At Hard Rock Cafe On LV Strip The English Beat Concert Benefit!
On
Friday, July 11, 2014, Hard Rock Cafe is set to celebrate one year of its
renamed intimate music venue Hard Rock Live with a special benefit concert
honoring the lives of the victims of the June 8 tragedy. All the money raised
by the $10 ticket will go directly to help the families of officers Alyn Beck,
Igor Soldo and Joseph Wilcox.
“Not
only is music so ingrained into the heart of Hard Rock, it has an incredible
power to bring a community together,” said Andrew Courtney, Talent Buyer and
Special Events Manager for Hard Rock Live, “and once we heard the tragic news
that has affected so many of us here in Las Vegas, we knew we wanted to find a
way to honor these three great men and hopefully the proceeds from this
anniversary show can be our way of doing a small part in helping their families
during this difficult time.”
The
English Beat will be joined by local talent Rusty Maples and Avalon Landing.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at http://www.ticketweb.com/ or at the
door.
After
the iconic music venue’s official renaming last year, Hard Rock Live has booked
some of the hottest names in music from rockers such as Mogwai, Umphrey’s
McGee, and Sevendust to rappers such as Schoolboy Q, YG, and Tech N9ne along
with EDM DJ’s 12th Planet, Crizzly, and Brillz.
Additional
Artist Information
The
English Beat is a 2 Tone ska revival band founded in Birmingham, England. Their
sound uniquely fuses ska, pop, soul, reggae and punk rock.
Rusty
Maples were grown from the dry desert landscape of Las Vegas. The band’s sound
captures the spirit of the West with their well-crafted blend of tender lyrics,
classic themes and energetic Americana-inspired pop songs.
Avalon
Landing was the recent winners of the annual Hard Rock Rising battle of the
bands and had advanced to the top 25 world competition. The band’s catchy sound
and rave reviews have made the band a staple opening act for tours passing
through and other budding Vegas acts, such as Imagine Dragons. The idea for
Avalon Landing was sparked in a restaurant in Buffalo, New York and led to the
band’s formation ten months later in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dash Berlin Electrified Crowd At Marquee Nightclub!
On Thursday,
June 19, Dash Berlin, presented in conjunction with Marquee Nightclub &
Dayclub, delivered an electric performance as part of the Set Your Life to
Music series at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas’ Boulevard Pool.
The
show opened with sounds from KYGO who entertained the audience, spinning
classic beats like Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing.” Next up, Marquee resident
Dash Berlin took over the turntables on the mophie stage for an epic
performance that served as fans’ kickoff to EDC weekend. The crowd could not
help but dance to the DJ’s eclectic set, which included popular tracks such as
W&W’s “Bigfoot,” “Waiting for the Sun & Moon” and “Steal You Away,”
Dash Berlin’s track with Alexander Popov featuring Jonathan Mendelsohn. The
show served as the closing party for the 3rd Annual EDMBiz Conference and Expo
that was held at the resort earlier this week.
The
Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas features artists at the forefront of the touring
world and emerging artists that will inspire the next musical movements coupled
with spectacularly-designed, technology-driven venues. Perched high above the
Las Vegas Strip, Boulevard Pool is a multilevel pool experience by day and an
intimate outdoor concert venue with unobstructed sightlines of both the stage
and The Strip by night.
“Set
Your Life To Music” returns to the Boulevard Pool on Thursday nights this
summer. The highly-anticipated summer series continues with Bleachers with
special guest Rusty Maples (June 26); Las Vegas Local Band Showcase featuring
GoldBoot, American Cream and Almost Normal (July 3); Big Data (July 10);
Jurassic 5 with special guest Dilated Peoples (July 17); Mac Miller with special
guest Black Boots (July 24); Juicy J with special guest Project Pat (July 31);

will begin at 9 p.m. Additional artists will be announced at a later date.
Legendary Rocker Gregg Allman Played At The Pearl
Saturday
night, rock and blues performer Gregg Allman returned to The Pearl inside Palms
Casino Resort for another amazing performance.
As he walked onstage, Allman first walked to the front of the stage to
bow to the adoring audience before taking a seat behind his organ. Allman then
ran through a string of hits with an eight-piece band, including a horn
section, backing him for a great night of live music. From The Allman Brothers
Band hits such as “Whipping Post,” “Don’t Keep Me Wonderin’” and Billboard
toppers “Midnight Rider” and “Melissa,” to solo hits such as 1987’s No. 1
Billboard Mainstream Rock chart hit “I’m No Angel” and “Love Like Kerosene,”
Allman proved that he still rocks with the best of them.

EDC'S Second Night Had Plenty To Offer! Colorful & Quirky In Vegas!
PC-Alex Perez |
PC-Alex Perez |
The
second night of the Electric Daisy Carnival had come to a thundering close
after welcoming a sold-out crowd to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The
dusk-till-dawn festivities featured more than 65 musical acts, including
up-and-coming artists from this year’s Discovery Project. This year, winners
were expanded beyond aspiring DJ/producers to include winning selections from
the art installation, stage, and costume design categories.
Adding
to the completely immersive setting of the festival grounds, more than 30
carnival rides, five Ferris wheels, and 20 large-scale art
installations—including the re-imagined Electric Daisy—encouraged fans to
explore and engage with their surroundings. The 125-foot structure featured LED
lights and white petals spanning 45 feet as fans danced beneath its warm glow.
The bassCON stage unveiled a brand new design that engulfed the DJ booth at the
mouth of a 65-foot-tall, apocalyptic Cyclops, surrounded by 26 large,
graffiti-stained steel containers and crushed automobiles.
Returning
for the second year, the VIP Dining Deck welcomed festivalgoers as they enjoyed
spectacular views of the kineticFIELD and a three-course meal prepared by Chef
Keven Lee in conjunction with Kitchen24. Drawing inspiration from the energetic
atmosphere, items such as the Electric Fruit Bowl—a pineapple shell of tropical
fruits, honeyed yogurt, and organic crunch power granola sprinkled on top—were
served throughout the night until 4 a.m.
Free
water was provided to fans throughout the night at the four water stations
throughout the grounds. New dining options were also available, including a
number of gourmet food trucks and a fruit stand blending fresh smoothies
throughout the evening.
