Farm Friendly Restaurant WILD Adds New Menu Items

Chicken Club Sandwich

Tuna & Shrimp Poke

The farm-friendly eatery and bar, WILD in downtown Las Vegas, has unveiled an all-new menu developed by Chef Natalie Young, owner and chef of the popular breakfast and lunch restaurant, Eat, located just around the corner from WILD in downtown Las Vegas.  WILD’s new menu stays true to its original intent to offer delectable comfort food favorites with a healthy twist.

“We were honored to have Chef Natalie lend her years of restaurant and culinary experience to us as a consultant and oversee the development of a new menu that brings the restaurant to the next level,” said Elyse Martin, general manager of WILD. “She has brought our menu from good to great.”

The revamped menu, available for lunch and dinner, adds mouthwatering starters like Ahi Tuna & Shrimp Poke, made with cucumber, ginger, cilantro, onions, avocado with a sweet chili vinaigrette and served with taro chips. Other new appetizers include Pulled Chicken Nachos and WILD’s own guacamole and chips.

New entrees include Emily’s Zucchini Pasta made with fresh julienned zucchini, broccoli, mushrooms, marinara, basil, garlic and parmesan cheese and a half free-range Oven Roasted Chicken served with fingerling potatoes and roasted seasonal vegetables. Tasty sandwiches also join the menu, including an Ahi Tuna Burger and a double decker Chicken Salad Club.

The menu retains some of the restaurant’s signature items, like a selection of its oven flatbreads, including the Wild White with mozzarella, truffle ricotta, cracked black pepper and arugula, as well as WILD’s popular gluten free cupcakes created by Pastry Chef Tatiana Lewis. To end a meal on a sweet note, WILD offers three cupcake flavors daily, including vegan chocolate with mocha frosting, vegan lemon with blueberry compote, and carrot cake with orange butter cream frosting.

With the tagline, “great food that just so happens to be gluten free,” WILD’s new menu remains completely gluten free, yet diners can’t taste the difference. And WILD continues to offer vegan options and whenever possible, using meats and cheeses that are hormone and antibiotic free, as well as local and organic produce.

In addition to the new menu, WILD has hired new culinary and front of house team members, including Sous Chef Judy Dezarn-Mack, previously a sous chef at  Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa.

WILD is located in the heart of downtown Las Vegas on the first floor of the high-rise residential building, The Ogden, at 150 N. Las Vegas Blvd., suite 120 (restaurant entrance is on E. Ogden Avenue). And just recently, a new parking lot opened across the street from WILD on Ogden Avenue that customers can use.

WILD opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and at midnight on Friday and Saturday nights. It offers a daily happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. with half off all drinks, including beer, wine and cocktails.

"Dig This" With Murray Sawchuck & Chloe Crawford - The Dynamic Duo!

The dynamic duo of Murray Sawchuck and Chloe Crawford took on an exciting challenge on a Friday afternoon. They visited Dig This which is a different Las Vegas attraction. Guests have the option of operating either a full size Bulldozer or a full size Excavator, they chose the Bulldozer which weighs over 20,000 pounds and is huge!  Moving dirt and operating huge machinery is quite a different activity from what Murray and Chloe do for a living. Murray who headlines his own magic show at The Laugh Factory at The New Tropicana would almost seem to be better suited to making both the bulldozer and the dirt disappear than move the mountains of dirt! Chloe Crawford is a lead dancer in the popular show FANTASY at the Luxor and she also works as Murray’s assistant and has been featured in Sports Illustrated and was a Playboy Cybergirl. She is very petite so when you see her behind the wheel of this huge machine it is quite a sight!
Chloe
Chloe & Murray

The experience starts off with a training course and each driver is connected to the instructor via a headset and Murray and Chloe were warming up in their bulldozers.  There is a series of activities and Murray and Chloe were soon digging, trenching, and pushing all of their dirt around. Chloe had the advantage in the first round as she dug her hole and moved mountains of dirt very smoothly and efficiently.   Murray on the other hand found this part a little challenging as he was rocking and kept dropping his dirt halfway through the exercise! Round one winner Chloe!

Second activity is where you move huge tires from one area to another and stack them.  By this time Murray was hitting his stride and he stacked his tires up easily and quickly. Round two winner Murray!!

The third activity almost seems impossible with the size of the bulldozers, but it is possible. You need to take basketballs off of cones and place them in a container.  By this time both Chloe and Murray had mastered the bulldozer’s mechanics and maneuverability so this round was so close that is was a tie!

It was quite a fun experience to see these two showbiz veterans step out of their comfort zones and take on Dig This from the sidelines.

Afterwards I had a chance to ask Murray and Chloe a few questions:

 How hard was it?
Murray: Honestly, it wasn't that hard but you did have to concentrate in regards to accuracy, as you have two joy-sticks the do something different when moved every direction. Once you know what does what you can get things to move right... but at first it's like being at a bad school dance.
Chloe: It wasn't super hard, but it is like learning to drive stick shift but there's too joy sticks... Once you've got the controls down, you're good to go... We did three different exercises, we made a big dirt pile, then moved & stacked these huge tires & lastly we played basketball with tires as the 'hoop'. I was better at the basketball one, I was going at a snails pace for the tire stacking, and Murray was flying through that one.

Have you ever done anything or operated any type of machinery similar to this before?
Murray: I have driven tractors, trucks, and motorcycles before... but this was something completely different. Anyone that hasn't done something like this before really should! With Dig This any age can really have fun and do it... but I do give all the construction workers credit as you swing that arm of the tractor the wrong way you could take out a few people and a building! I would not win JENGA if I was using one of those diggers!
Chloe: No, I've never tried anything like this before... And I only got my driver’s license last year.

Chloe are you more of a tomboy or more of a "sparkly" girl?
I think most people would say I'm more of a sparkly girl but I don't mind get my hands dirty & I'm up for trying anything once... I much prefer to be kicking around in a pair of converse than a pair of platforms but what girl doesn't like getting dressed up every now & again.

Murray was this harder than a simple magic trick?
Yeah it was definitely harder than a simple magic trick but it did get me thinking of a really new and cool trick using a big digger... as I have vanished trains and cars etc... a tractor would be a fun concept to work with!!! Might have to call the CAT Company up and chat to them about a new illusion for the Las Vegas strip!

How would you describe the experience?
Murray: It was definitely a MUST DO!!! Something I am sure most people don't say, 'Hey lets see if I can find a place to dig some dirt up with a really big tractor!' So it really is the unexpected but definitely something for the 'bucket list!' Also if you are looking for a gift for the guy or girl of any age that has EVERYTHING... DIG THIS IS IT!!!
Chloe: I loved it & it's been something I've always wanted to try... It's good for people of any age, a really fun day out & the guys there really made the experience memorable.
