USAC HPD Midget Series Comes To LVMS Saturday 4/26!

The USAC HPD Midget Series will make its second visit this season to Las Vegas as NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing resumes Saturday night at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
NASCAR Super Late Models, Super Stocks, Bombers, Legend Cars, Bandoleros and Thunder Cars also will be on the track for a full night of racing at the 3/8-mile paved oval.

Christine Breckenridge of Riverside, Calif., became the 26th female driver to win a USAC feature race when the HPD Midget Series visited the Bullring earlier this month. Breckenridge led the final 20 laps of the 30-lap main event to notch her first USAC feature victory.

Tight points battles highlight many of the NASCAR-sanctioned divisions, including Super Late Model, where four-time track champion Scott Gafforini of Henderson holds a narrow seven-point lead over North Las Vegas’ David Anderson. Anderson won the season opener but Gafforini responded by winning both 35-lap feature races on April 12. Saturday’s Super Late Model main event is scheduled for 40 laps.
Vinny Raucci Jr. of Las Vegas has finishes of third and second this season and leads the NASCAR Super Stock division by seven points over fellow Las Vegan James Wingard.

Aaron McMorran of Las Vegas has won two of the three NASCAR Bomber features this season and leads Don Sargent by seven points going into Saturday’s night’s 25-lap main.

Other drivers with multiple feature wins this season include Jason Irwin, with two victories in Legend Car, Ian Anderson, with two wins in Thunder Car, and Mason Sargent, who is a perfect 3-for-3 in the Bandolero Bandits class.

Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. Saturday, qualifying will begin at 5:50 p.m. and heat races and features will start at 7 p.m.

The Bullring is one of the best entertainment values in Southern Nevada with affordable ticket prices and family-friendly concession prices including $1 hot dogs, $1 Coca-Cola products and $2 Budweiser beer. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or in advance by visiting or calling the LVMS ticket office at (702) 644-4444 or online at www.lvms.com. Discounted tickets are available with an advance purchase.

For more information, please call LVMS at (702) 644-4444 or visit www.LVMS.com.

Serendipity 3 At Caesars Palace To Undergo Some Whimsical Changes & Enhanced Menu

Five years and more than 500,000 signature Frrrozen Hot Chocolates later, Serendipity 3 at Caesars Palace, has become a must-see dining destination, much like the original New York City location. Changes at the popular eatery are currently underway, set to elevate the indoor and outdoor dining experience.

Exciting new features include a whimsical 26-ft. tall Tiffany-style lamp flanking the expanded outdoor patio, featuring vibrant pinks and oranges, color staples of the Serendipity 3 brand. The expanded strip facing patio now features a full bar complete with counter seating and several high definition televisions, providing guests a front-row view of the world-famous Las Vegas Strip and iconic Caesars Palace fountains.

The expanded interior space will now feature additional tables and seating, as well as floor to ceiling windows overlooking the beautiful scenery.  The imaginative décor features the well-known oversized lighting fixtures and a rainbow of colors to accent the interior. The inside of the restaurant now seats 148 patrons in classic white chairs with colorful adornments, reminiscent of the original shop.

Serendipity 3’s enhanced menu is the perfect blend of savory dishes to balance the indulgent dessert selections. Signature dishes such as “The One & Only Las Vegas Strip Steak Sandwich,” “Las Vegas Chicken Strips,” “All In Nachos” and “Deep Fried Oreos & Ice Cream” will remain as menu staples, while new additions add a twist to the classics, with unique ingredients and elevated presentation, all while keeping with the whimsical Serendipity 3 personality.

New and reimagined items include “Three Amigos Tacos,” chicken, beef or fish tacos accompanied with S3 signature garnishes and “Teenie Weenies,” a trio of Sabrett hot dog sliders, featuring one each of a Coney Island, Chicago and California style topped dog. The new seared salmon dish is vibrant and attractive, with fresh and crisp flavors composed of lavish cucumber laces, perfectly seared Atlantic salmon, complemented by an heirloom cherry tomato salad and a light horseradish dill cream sauce. The Fried Twinkie Sundae evokes nostalgic joy at first sight, drizzled in chocolate, butterscotch and marshmallow sauce, so be sure to save room for dessert!

Serendipity 3 is open Sunday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 8 a.m. to midnight. For reservations please call 702.731.7373.

Season Finale Of Life Is A Beach Party At Hyde Bellagio On Sunday 4/27! Bikini's Galore!

Surf’s up on the Las Vegas Strip! Hyde Bellagio will throw a sun-kissed Life Is A Beach-themed XIV Vegas Sessions season finale Sunday, April 27 at 6 p.m.

The costume-encouraged bash invites bikini-clad babes and buff bros to don their flashiest shades for an epic night of revelry. When the sun sets over Bellagio’s famed fountains, the night will heat up as sand and surf transform Hyde into the sexiest waterfront property in Las Vegas. Guests should come prepared for the elements as the weather forecast predicts frequent champagne showers, storms of confetti and electrifying house music that will keep the party going all night.

The event marks XIV Vegas Sessions’ annual summer hiatus and celebrates the exhilarating second season which has been rocking the Las Vegas Strip with popular monthly parties since October 2013. Since 2012, Hyde Bellagio has reincarnated the notorious day-to-night party, which began as XIV Summer Sessions in Los Angeles, with Vegas-sized proportions. Awarded Vegas’ Top Ongoing Promotion of the Year by Nightclub & Bar Magazine, XIV’s themes vary, but neon is ubiquitous, signature champagne showers flow freely and crazy costumes are encouraged.

XIV fanatics longing for the uninhibited atmosphere and outrageous creativity of XIV Vegas Sessions can still get their fix this summer. Now a coast-to-coast phenomenon, the unmistakable energy of XIV lives on all summer long with XIV Summer Sessions in Los Angeles and XIV Miami Sessions at SLS South Beach.

Famed Chef Daniel Boulud's db Brasserie Now Open At The Venetian Las Vegas

Chef Daniel Boulud’s db Brasserie s officially now open  inside The Venetian® Las Vegas. The restaurant, which Boulud calls his ‘ideal brasserie’, is an updated version of French brasserie, with a contemporary twist and international appeal.  The opening marks one of the most anticipated culinary events of the year – Boulud’s return to the Las Vegas Strip.

“Like me, ‘the brasserie’ was born in France but has traveled the world,” says Boulud. “I wanted to create a menu with my favorite French dishes, charcuterie, shellfish—all the ‘brasserie staples’—and international flavors from my travels that are a bit exotic and transporting.”

Created in collaboration with Executive Chef David Middleton, the menu features Boulud’s version of Escargots Spätzle, Burgundy snail fricassée, chicken ‘oysters’, mushrooms, parsley coulis and hazelnut, Poissons Fumés, Balik smoked salmon, smoked sable rillettes, potato dauphine, salmon roe, preserved cucumber, dill, Crispy Duck Confit, swiss chard, turnip, trumpet royale mushrooms, onion rings, and of course Steak Frites ‘From the Grill.’ The classics fit seamlessly with newly-created dishes showcasing international flavors, found in dishes like Hamachi Cru, eggplant-cumin aigre doux, finger lime, harissa, shallots and Tunisian Lamb, roasted chop, merguez sausage, couscous, lemon braised spinach and chickpeas, red pepper tagine. Burger-lovers will delight in three of Boulud’s gourmet burgers: The Yankee, The Frenchie, and The Piggie, adapted from Boulud’s New York City-based restaurant, DBGB. Elegant desserts including “Le Président,” a chocolate-hazelnut mousse tart with coffee Chantilly and crunchy feuilletine and a Calisson-Strawberry ‘Sundae’  of melon sorbet, strawberries, and orange blossom-almond sablés provide the essential sweet finish.

db Brasserie boasts a wine list of approximately 300 international selections, curated by Boulud’s group Wine Director Daniel Johnnes and db Brasserie Sommelier Devin Zendel. The list pays special tribute to the glories of American Wine, which are presented in three categories: PIONEERS ‘the first to prove the quality of American terroir’; NEW FRONTIER ‘young wineries inspired by their old-world counterparts’; and CLASSICS ‘next generation American winemaking, classics in their own right’. Keeping with the tradition of Daniel Boulud’s restaurants, the list also features the best French producers from the storied regions of the Rhone Valley, Burgundy, Bordeaux, Alsace, the Loire Valley and the great Southern regions of Provence, the Languedoc and Roussillon. The list’s old world wines –French and ‘LeVoyage’ – are organized by region in the traditional fashion. db Brasserie also features a full cocktail list, with creations ranging from classic (Le Boulevardier, Bulleit Rye, Aperol, Carpano Antica Formula) to floral (The Peruvian Love, Barsol Pisco, Cointreau, Lime, Cranberry, Lavender Soda) to bubbly (Ménage À Trois, a tasting of three Champagne cocktails).

The spacious restaurant seats 280 diners, including two private dining rooms, as well as a casual bar and lounge. Designed by Jeffrey Beers International (JBI), the group took inspiration from classic brasseries in France to create a welcoming and convivial atmosphere. The exterior façade of db Brasserie has been clad in travertine limestone panels, a reference to the public buildings that house some of France’s classic brasseries from past centuries. The restaurant's centerpiece is an expansive faux-skylight reminiscent of those in classic Beaux-Arts train stations and restaurants. The design elements extend throughout the bar and lounge, as well as the private dining areas.

Located at the start of Restaurant Row, just off the casino floor, db Brasserie is accessible from both The Venetian and The Palazzo, with easy access from The Palazzo parking garage. db Brasserie is open seven days a week for dinner from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m., bar until 12 p.m. The restaurant will soon operate from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling 702-430-1235. Follow db Brasserie on Twitter and Instagram at @dbBrasserie.
