The oversized and impressive 852-page book is a first edition that was published in 2006 by Opus Media Group of Silverstone, England.  It is signed by Sir Jack Brabham, Phil Hill, John Surtees, Sir Jackie Stewart, Emerson Fittipaldi, Niki Lauda, Mario Andretti, Jody Scheckter, Alan Jones, Nelson Piquet, Keke Rosberg, Alain Prost, Nigel Mansell, Michael Schumacher, Damon Hill, Jacques Villeneuve, Mika Hakkinen, Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen, Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, and Sebastian Vettel, among others.

The massive volume charts the history of F1 beginning with the 1950 World Driver's Championship. Lavishly illustrated, the opus features previously unpublished photographs by the sport’s leading photographers, as well as iconic images from the history of Formula 1. Each circuit is explored in detail while proving insights into the drivers who have awed fans world-wide, from the Argentinean Juan Manuel Fangio who dominated the first decade of Formula One racing to the four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel.

“The Official Formula One Opus Champions Edition” is housed in a black carbon fiber clamshell presentation case featuring the Formula One logo and includes the original cardboard shipping carton. The case is handmade by Hyptex, the leading manufacturers of carbon fiber for Formula One race cars.  It is priced at $30,000.

Two Lose Hair On St. Baldrick's Day! Chef Moonen & Al Mancini

Chef Moonen Shaves Al Mancini

Al Mancini Shaves Chef Moonen

On Saturday, March 1, Rí Rá Las Vegas raised more than $21,000 at its third-annual head-shaving fundraiser for St. Baldrick’s Foundation, which funds the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and help survivors lead long and healthy lives.

During the signature fundraiser, celebrated seafood Chef Rick Moonen and local food critic Al Mancini both braved a shave after raising more than $6,000 combined. Chef Moonen, founder of rm seafood and Rx Boiler Room, took his turn under the clippers first with Mancini serving as the celebrity shaver. Next, Mancini watched his mohawk of 15 years go down with Chef Moonen manning the clippers.

All day, participants shed their locks at Rí Rá to support the fight against childhood cancer. Local barbers from The Art of Shaving volunteered their time, shaving more than 50 heads in total. Guests enjoyed commentary from emcee and popular Rí Rá bartender Paul “JNR” Walsh, who also braved the shave during the event.

In its first three years participating in the event, Rí Rá raised $60,000 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and lifesaving childhood cancer research.

About St. Baldrick’s Foundation:

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. St. Baldrick’s coordinates its signature head-shaving events worldwide where participants collect pledges to shave their heads in solidarity with kids with cancer, raising money to fund research. Since 2005, St. Baldrick’s has awarded more than $127 million to support lifesaving research, making the Foundation the largest private funder of childhood cancer research grants. St. Baldrick’s funds are granted to some of the most brilliant childhood cancer research experts in the world and to younger professionals who will be the experts of tomorrow. Funds awarded also enable hundreds of local institutions to participate in national pediatric cancer clinical trials, and the new International Scholar grants train researchers to work in developing countries.
