It’s the arrival Las Vegas and fans worldwide have been waiting for  - Celine Dion makes her triumphant return to Caesars Palace to begin rehearsals for her brand new show at The Colosseum.  The new show begins March 15 and kicks off Celine’s three-year engagement.

When Celine arrived in Las Vegas, she headed directly to Caesars Palace from the airport.  This comes hot off of a live in studio chat in New York City with Oprah! It was rumored that Oprah gave away Celine tickets to her audience! Caesars Palace President Gary Selesner and AEG Live/Concerts West’s Co-CEO/President John Meglen along with more than 200 Caesars Entertainment and AEG Live employees welcomed Celine.

This was the first photo opportunity to see Celine and family since the birth of her twin sons, Eddy and Nelson, along with husband René Angélil and son René-Charles.

The new show will feature 31 musicians, consisting of a full orchestra and band.  Celine will continue her record of creating groundbreaking concert performances with this next adventure promising to be the most spectacular yet.  The new show will include her biggest hits performed with a stunning visual presentation.

Judging the hot salsa contest at Hussong's Cantina

Hussong’s Cantina at The Shoppes at Mandalay Place had a solution for those who didn’t have a great Valentine’s Day with the Burn a Hole in My Heart hot salsa contest held Tuesday night.  Hussong’s own Executive Chef Noe Alcala went up again local chefs Tino Guzman and Michael Vargas to see who could create the hottest salsa.

The contest started off with the chefs and judges taking a shot of Patron Silver tequila and then the chefs went to work, creating their masterpiece from more than twenty available ingredients.  The judges, including journalist E.C. Gladstone, Jay McCarthy from The Original Las Vegas Hot Sauce Company, Christian Struck and Rachel Seib from the soon to open Ri Ra Irish Pub and loyal Hussong’s customer Cortney Salazar, donned blindfolds as they set about tasting the entries.  Pitchers of Hussong’s Original Margaritas were downed to help cool the heat and the judges marked down the scores and notes.

The judges shared that each salsa had unique tastes and varying degrees of hotness, but ultimately when the blind tasting scores were added up the winner was revealed to be Hussong’s Chef Noe, who added significant amounts of the spicy habanero chili peppers to bring the heat.

Chef Noe received his award, a gold fire hydrant, and everyone had another shot of tequila to celebrate.

Featuring a special performance by Travis Barker, the Famous Stars and Straps party at XS Nightclub was the hot spot for celebrities and glitterati alike last night in Las Vegas. The award-winning venue opened up on a special night to celebrate the MAGIC Convention and fashion executives and fans in town for the week.

Celebrities came in packs to check out the exclusive live performance including Twilight’s Kellan Lutz, Run’s House reality star Vanessa Simmons, plus Holly’s World stars Holly Madison and Angel Porrino. Lutz was spotted standing on top of his VIP booth to get a better view of the show throughout the night, while Madison and Porrino enjoyed the acts from their exclusive seating right on the dance floor.

Barker walked the carpet in a cut-off t-shirt, baggy shorts, and drum sticks in hand. It was clear that he was in the zone as he rushed inside to get on the drums, performing to thousands within the nightclub. Fresh off a recent TFC (Triangular Fibro cartilage Complex) injury, the artist tweeted three days ago that doctor’s orders had asked him to stay off the drums, but always a rebel, he played an intense 30 minute set with numerous special guests taking to the stage to add to the performance. With a mixed tape dropping February 21, a solo album debut on March 15 titled “Give The Drummer Some”, plus a new Blink-182 album dropping in April or May, there is no time for rest for the talented musician.

Barker, famously known for his sets with the late DJ AM, was accompanied by DJ Spider throughout the night. Spider, a protégé of DJ AM, spoke on the carpet about how special it was to be reunited with the drummer for the event. Still remembering his lost friend, the drum sets adorned a DJ AM logo in his memory.

While Travis hammered on his drum set, the mic continued to be passed on from one talented act after another, including Alicia Keys’ better half Swizz Beatz, who did an additional 45 minute set for the crowd, performing nearly 20 songs. Also jumping on stage was infamous DJ Samantha Ronson, adding her own spin to the mix, plus additional performances by rappers Yelawolf, Bun B, and Lil B the Based God.

The event, co-hosted by UFC, drew in several fighters and executives of the organization including Dana White, Stephan Bonnar, Josh Koscheck, Cain Velaszquez, and Dominick Cruz.

Tom Arnold performs!! Funnyman and Wild Character brings act to The Orleans!

Writer, producer, actor and host Tom Arnold returns to his roots as a stand-up comic, performing at The Orleans Showroom February 19 and 20, each evening at 8 p.m. 

In his stand-up act Arnold pokes fun at his Midwest past, marital follies and absurd Hollywood stories. He began his career in comedy at the University of Iowa before moving to Minneapolis where he won the Minneapolis Comedy Competition in 1988. He then moved to Los Angeles to write for the successful television series Roseanne, where he went on to serve as executive producer. He appeared in his own HBO special, Tom Arnold: The Naked Truth, and wrote, produced and started in his own television series’ The Jackie Thomas Show, Tom and The Tom Show.

Recipient of a Peabody Award and Golden Globe Award, Arnold has appeared as the resident comic relief character in films including Nine Months, True Lies, Hero and Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. In the upcoming feature, Grassroots, Arnold stars along side Cobie Smulders, Lauren Ambrose, Joel David Moore and Jason Biggs.

While known for his hilarious and wild characters, Arnold has also received critical praise for several mature and dramatic roles in films, including Gardens of the Night, The Great Buck Howard, Good Dick, The Year of Getting to Know Us and Happy Endings.

Will Smith Wax Likeness Unveiled at Madame Tussauds! Looks just like him!

 The Black History Celebration at Madame Tussauds will kick off Wednesday, February 16 with the unveil of the newly created Will Smith figure and will continue throughout the end of February.

Twenty-five outstanding wax figures will be featured throughout the attraction, from the historical “Martin Luther King, Jr.” to the hysterical “Whoopi Goldberg.”

The “President Barack Obama” figure and Oval Office Replica will also be included, as will the soon-to-retire from daytime TV, “Oprah Winfrey.”

Human Nature to Serenade Sports Illustrated Models

Public performance and photo opportunity followed by autograph signing event at Rao’s Caesars Palace

Members of the hit show “Smokey Robinson Presents Australia's Human Nature – The Ultimate Celebration of the Motown Sound” will be keeping good company this week. The cast is preparing to meet up with some of the world’s most beautiful women, the models featured in the pages of the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.

Human Nature will have the opportunity to serenade three of the lovely SI models while they are in Las Vegas to promote the launch of the annual swimsuit issue. The cast is planning a special rendition of “My Girl” that they’ll sing to the girls in a public performance held on the indoor patio of Rao’s at Caesars Palace.

Following the performance, an autograph signing will be held with the models and cast of Human Nature. Rao’s will host a special happy hour for those who attend the performance and participate in the autograph signing.
