M Resort to Celebrate Hannukah! Lighting of the Menorah!

M Resort Spa Casino Celebrates Hannukkah with Menorah Lighting today at 4 P.M.

A giant indoor menorah lighting will be held at the M Resort Spa Casino to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, the “Festival of Lights” on
Wednesday, Dec. 1. The community is invited to come together to mark this 8-day Jewish holiday. One light is kindled on the first night of the festival and an additional light is added on each of the successive seven nights. An extra light, called the “shamash,” which means “guard” is used to light all the other lights on the menorah.

Children will receive chocolate coins and toy dreidels at the lighting.

The community is also invited to bring non-perishable food items to the lighting. The items will be donated to Jewish Family Services, a local charitable organization with a number of programs designed to support those in need including a food pantry, which provides nutritious food and hygiene products to more than 19,000 individuals in Clark County including the elderly, families and homeless adults and adolescents.

Assistant Rabbi Zukrow of Congregation Ner Tamid will lead the lighting and prayer.

The menorah will be displayed from Wednesday, the start of Hanukkah, to its end on Thursday, Dec. 9

Speedway offers Charitable Opportunities to help Children! Celebs and Fans!

Speedway Children’s Charities offers fans many opportunities to help the children of Southern Nevada at Dec. 1 Chasers For Charity Fanfest

The Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities will be giving fans many opportunities to help the children of Southern Nevada during the annual Chasers for Charity Fanfest on Wednesday, Dec. 1 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

SCC is offering fans a once-in-a lifetime opportunity to play the Fast Money Round in a Family Feud-style game show with their favorite NASCAR Sprint Cup Chase-for-the-Championship drivers. The highest bidder in SCC’s online auction will compete in the final round of Speedway Feud with the driver of their choice and will win prizes. Fans may bid on the fast-money round position by going to www.speedwaycharities.org/lasvegas.

Chasers for Charity Fanfest t-shirts will be on sale at the event for $10, with all proceeds going to SCC. Fans who donate a new, unwrapped toy will receive 50-percent discount on the limited-edition shirts.

SCC also will host its first-ever Punch-and-Lunch. Fans can dine to support the charity by purchasing a $10 punch card that will allow them to sample food from local restaurants at the track, including Margaritaville and Famous Dave’s Barbeque.

The Chasers for Charity Fanfest kicks off NASCAR Champion’s Week in Las Vegas. In addition to appearances by all 12 Chase drivers, the event also will include track tours, a celebrity go-kart race, NASCAR show cars, the Sprint Experience, live music, Richard Petty Driving Experience rides and a question-and-answer session with SPEED TV personalities Krista Voda and Larry McReynolds. Admission is free and the festival will be held in the Neon Garage at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Shuttle bus transportation from the Las Vegas Strip to LVMS is available through Coach
America.

Speedway Children's Charities is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit, tax ID# 56-1331429. Making a difference in a child's life is the focus of Speedway Children's Charities. SCC strives to do this in collaboration with the non-profit organizations it supports nationwide. Individually, SCC's local chapters identify the needs of children in their communities and award grants to organizations that address them. Last December, the Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities granted $275,000 to 78 local children's causes during its annual grant distribution ceremony.

Show your support! The First Annual B&D Senior Pet Food Drive is ALMOST HERE!

Bo &DeeMo http://www.boanddeemo.com is AMERICAN BULLY COUTURE catering to bully breeds! English-French-American-Boston Bulldogs, Pugs, Boxers, Mastiffs, Bull Terrier & Pitbulls! The partnership with well known local charity Helping Hands of Vegas Valley is to insure that low income seniors can provide food for their best friends for the holidays! Many low-income seniors have a challenging time feeding themselves not to mention their four legged pals.

A direct quote from Dana who deals firsthand with the seniors: “Many of our low-income seniors live alone with pets as their only family,” said Dana Serrata, executive director of Helping Hands of Vegas Valley. “Our clients are unable to afford food for themselves, much less their pets. They don’t have the resources to feed their pets properly, so they share their own meals.”

They are delighted and grateful that Comedian/Actor Bobby Slayton who has starred in films “Dreamgirls, Get Shorty, Ed Wood” to name a few and Author/Adult Actress Sunset Thomas will be on hand to sign autographs and greet fans.

Bobby “The Pitbull of Comedy” Slayton is a well known animal supporter and you may not be aware but his own “best friend” is an adorable “Min Pin. – Gizmo.”  He will be available from 2 pm – 4 pm at the Main Location for interviews and will be returning soon to Las Vegas for an exciting new limited run performance! Bobby also voiced the PSA’s which are currently running on the Kemp Broadcasting Stations KVEG 97.5FM, KVGQ 106.9 FM and KMZQ 670 AM and CBS Radio Stations KLUC 98.5 FM, KXTE 107.5 FM, KXNT 840 AM and KMXB 94.1 FM and promises “I will personally be on hand to meet and greet all of you, but don’t let that stop you!!”

Sunset Thomas who has a worldwide fan base was informed about the event and she was more than happy to lend a hand to the community that has welcomed her. She has starred on HBO’S top rated series Cathouse and said “Bobby and I are both animals in our own way,” cracked Sunset, “we’re both pet owners and pet lovers. I’m honored to be able to do something for the community I love and for folks who could really use a hand with their pawed pals!”

Zen Kingston, English Bulldog and event model for Bo & DeeMo will on all “paws” meeting and greeting new pals and showing off his skateboarding skills for the crowd from 1-2pm!

You can help alleviate some of their hardship during the holidays. What we are asking the public for are donations of 2-5 or 6-8 lb. bags of either cat food or dog food which will be packed up and delivered on December 18th. All of the seniors are registered and pre-screened thru HHOVV.

Food donations will be accepted at all three Bogart’s Bone Appetit starting now and will continue until December 11th. There will be an ULTIMATE LUXURY PRIZE for the individual who drops off the most food on December 4th. The prize consists of a round of golf for four (including cart and balls) at the prestigious Canyon Gate Country Club!

Las Vegas is a community that gives back! We currently have several wonderful food/toy drives that take place annually. However it is our goal to draw attention to a group that is sometimes overlooked.  Several low income Senior citizens rely upon Helping Hands of Vegas Valley to deliver their food and to take them to important Doctors appointments etc. We are hoping to help these seniors feed their pets who are their companions during the holidays and all year!  When you are alone in the world and you have a companion such as your dog or cat and you have a specific amount of food each month ultimately some of the food will be shared and you have seniors not receiving enough nutrition. Of course this affects the nutrition for their pets also.

The event will take place on December 4th at the Main location at Bogart’s Bone Appetit in the parking lot. From 1 PM -4 PM.

Bogart’s Bone Appetit has three locations throughout Las VegasA one stop charity drop!  that you can stop by and drop off your donations today! Plus they also have several wonderful food products for you to choose from!
