Ross has always had an affinity for Hollywood gloss. It is evident in his work that he is especially enamored of the Technicolor movies produced by 20th Century Fox during the 1940s. Ross attempts to capture the feeling and look of Technicolor, a color process Hollywood used during the 1940's and 50's (an art form now sadly lost) which, with it's garishly unreal hues, brought us a view of the world as we would like it to appear... but not as it truly does.

Working primarily in colored pencil, his drawings are mounted on foam core, and then arranged inside box frames to form a tableau. No photographs are used in the finished work. The subject matter varies with humor, pop culture and eroticism as recurring themes, but frequently masking darker, more subversive content.

The style is photo-realism. The finished art more closely resembles a 3-D movie still of the scene rather than a realistic depiction of the event itself.

The Sin Sity Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence will be curating the gallery these two special nights. A portion of the sales for the evening will be donated to Sisters Aid Drug Assistance Program.

Our opening show is featuring the amazing art works by Ma...rk T. Zeilman and with special guest Louis Tinoco. And of course artists of PLACE, Mike Arthurholtz, Gia Ray, Jesse Smigel, everyone’s favorite Gallerina Gina Quaranto, and also introducing our newest studio artist Lynne Adamson!

Also if you have read any of PLACE Galleries last Facebook posts, we have decided to change the name of PLACE Gallery. So again, 18b we are asking for your help to rename our gallery. Please see rules:

1. We want "Studios" in the name. not "gallery".

2. At no time is the word "place" to be used. Not displaced, replace, g's place, etc.

Jersey Boys Collect Shoes! 3000 Pairs for Boys & Girls Club!

Oh What A Night! Jersey Boys Collects Nearly 3.000 Pairs of Children’s Shoes in Honor of 1000th Performance!

The Stars of Jersey Boys Delivered Shoes to the Children of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas on Thursday, September 2

JERSEY BOYS cast members made a special delivery to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas on Thursday, September 2 bringing nearly 3,000 pairs of shoes which were collected during the very successful “Walk Like a Man” shoe drive in honor of their 1,000th show on August 28. The cast presented the shoes and spent time meeting the children of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas. In addition to the shoe donation, the Jersey Boys producers donated 1,000 pairs of socks to accompany to the shoes.

Fans were asked to bring a pair of children’s shoes to The JERSEY BOYS Theatre at the Palazzo Resort-Hotel-Casino in exchange for a complimentary ticket to the 1000th show at 6:30 p.m. on August 28. The original goal was to collect 1,000 pairs of children’s shoes but close to 3,000 fans came down to show their support for this great cause—some as early as 4:30 a.m. When the drive began at noon, fans were lined up throughout the property to donate shoes and in exchange, see one of the best shows in town. The original 1,000 tickets were gone by the first hour but thanks to the Jersey Boys producers everyone who brought a pair of shoes received a ticket to an upcoming performance.
