What Celebrities are up to...N9NE Group!
Ken Norton, Jr., former NFL star and current assistant head coach for defense and linebacker coach for USC, was spotted with two guests at ghostbar, inside the Palms Casino Resort, last night (5.21.09). The trio sat on the patio enjoying the Strip view until nearly 3 a.m.
At N9NE Steakhouse, Larry Johnson aka L.J., NFL Running Back for the Kansas City Chiefs, was joined by a group of ten guests for dinner.
At Moon Nightclub, Hermes Franca, a Brazilian mixed martial artist and lightweight UFC contender, along with Jeremy Stephens, mixed martial arts fighter, were both in town for the fight this Saturday. They were joined by a group of eight friends and danced and talked for most of the night while drinking Ketel One Vodka.

Fremont Street Experience takes Las Vegas back 40 years this summer with the “Summer of ’69: Vegas or Bust” festival and concert series.
The summer-long celebration of the year 1969 begins Memorial Day weekend and runs through Labor Day weekend. The weekend will be highlighted by free concerts by The Guess Who on Saturday, May 23 and by Blood, Sweat & Tears on Sunday, May 24.
“Memorial Day Weekend: Celebrate & Remember” brings a military tribute to Fremont Street Experience. The event begins Saturday, May 23 and goes through Monday, May 25 and will honor past and current members of the military who have served the United States. Special guest performers include The Guess Who on Saturday, May 23 and Blood, Sweat & Tears on Sunday, May 24.

MMA Fighters Jay Hieron and Martin Kampman as well as Joe Thornton (NHL player from the San Jose Sharks) are scheduled guests to be interviewed live at this event by Between Rounds.

Noted as one of the primary figures associated with Motown Records, Smokey Robinson will perform at Buffalo Bill’s in the Star of the Desert Arena 8 p.m. Saturday, May 23.
Robinson's countless hits and consistent contributions to the Motown label earned him the title of the “King of Motown.” As both a member of Motown group The Miracles and a solo artist, Robinson recorded 37 Top 40 hits for Motown between 1960 and 1987 including “Shop Around,” “You’ve Really Got a Hold on Me” and “Baby Baby Don’t Cry.” Robinson also served as the company's vice president from 1961 to 1988.
Robinson will present Australia’s vocal group Human Nature in The Ultimate Celebration of Motown. Robinson has signed a one-year deal for the group to headline at the remodeled 653-seat showroom at the Imperial Palace starting May 23.

Free Day Features Family Activities and Fun for All
The Clark County Museum, 1830 S Boulder Hwy, Henderson, will celebrate County Centennial Day on May 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with activities for the whole family. Admission is free on that day.
Demonstrators will show how to make horse hair-braided ropes, churn butter, plant a victory garden, quilt and many other skills from earlier in the century. A craft tent and a games tent will feature old time activities, including make-and-take craft projects. Allstar Snacks will be on site with hamburgers, hotdogs, other sandwiches, snacks and drinks available for purchase.
A new exhibit of a hand-made model train display will open at 10 a.m. This display, the work of master carpenter Norman “Gus” Gardiner, will be in the 1931 Union Pacific Boulder City Depot. The Museum Guild will offer free popcorn, also in the Depot.
Authors Lynn Zook and Carey Burke will autograph copies of their new book, which will be available for purchase. Called “ Las Vegas : 1905-1965,” the book is part of the Postcard History Series published by Arcadia Press.
