A Fun, Sophisticated New Wine Line Has Emerged! Hello Wine of The Sea!

Soave Superiore
Wine, oh the exquisite elixir! Indulging in a glass of wine during lunch, or dinner, or simply unwinding from the demands of our fast-paced lives is a sheer delight. However, discovering an exceptional wine is the key to not just savoring, but elevating your overall experience. Personally, I used to relish a robust red wine alongside pasta and beef. As time passed, though, any sip of red wine would invariably lead to headaches and jaw pain, regardless of the price range. However, I was ready to savor all the wines at the tasting. Hopefully, I would not need it but I had my Tylenol in the car.

Before delving into the wines, let's explore what sets Wine of the Sea apart. Wine of the Sea, curated by the BZ Consortium based in Wisconsin, is a collection of wines aged beneath the Adriatic Sea, approximately 100 feet below the surface, where the temperature remains a constant 55-60 degrees. Submerged for one to two years, these bottles become adorned with stunning coral, while the underwater pressure imparts a gentle sway, intensifying the aging and cellaring process for 3-5 years, culminating in a distinctive final finish.

The concept of sea-aging wine has been experimented with worldwide over the years. Recently, the FDA granted approval to BZ Consortium as the first and only company allowed to sell ocean-aged wines in the United States. Despite initial safety concerns, they received the green light at the close of 2022 to introduce Wine of the Sea to the US market.

Equipped with a special composite cork and double layers of wax seal, ensuring the bottles remain impermeable during submersion, these bottles undergo a unique underwater experience:

  • Consistently cool temperatures throughout submersion.

  • Absolute protection from sunlight.

  • Intensified and accelerated aging under substantial pressure.

  • Gentle waves maintain bottle movement, promoting molecular breakdown for a continuous flow and refinement of the wine.

Rotation of varietals ranges from 13-16 different wines from across Europe.

Now, onto the wines! The journey begins with the Soave Superiore, a white wine boasting delightful Italian flavors, offering a hint of vanilla, intense stone fruit, and traces of banana and pineapple. Superbly balanced, it is perfect for lounging poolside or enjoying on a hot summer night.

Next up, the Deux Mers, a captivating blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot from Serbia. This red wine, both playful and sophisticated, rolls around the tongue with flavors of dark cherries, blackcurrant, pepper, wet leaves, and tobacco. Ideal for those who appreciate a bold red, it makes for a wonderful Valentine's gift. This was my favorite wine.
Deux Mers

Illasi Valpolicella Superiore

Following that was the Illasi Valpolicella Superiore, an elegant Italian wine with a blend of Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes. With intricate aromas of tobacco, sandalwood, and black cherries, it offers a velvety, juicy texture and pairs exceptionally well with a medium-rare steak. This was another wonderful surprise! This wine was exceptional and on this tasting journey so far no need for Tylenol!

Penina Gold Flakes 22K

The tasting journey proceeds to the Penina Gold Flakes 22K, a dry sparkling wine with decadent golden swirls, carrying floral notes of linden flowers, bread crust, and yeast—an ideal choice for special occasions.

Untouched by Light
Cheers to bubbles! A double toast to the intriguing Untouched by Light Sparkling wine, crafted entirely in darkness. Harvested at night, matured in lightless cellars, and sealed in black bottles, this sparkling wine never sees the light, creating a truly unique and mysterious experience. An intriguing gift for the Sparkling wine lover in your life! l

This wine line is not just a collection of beverages; it's an invitation to celebrate life's moments, big and small, with a touch of sophistication and a dash of fun. As these exceptional wines make their way to Las Vegas, get ready to explore a world of flavor, innovation, and sheer enjoyment.
Cheers to Wines of the Sea

So cheers to the emergence of a wine line that is as vibrant and dynamic as the moments it accompanies – a toast to sophistication, a toast to fun! (No Tylenol was harmed or used during this evening.)

URGENT! HELP These Pups Get Home Due to Drone Strike! Donate to Paws Of War

The drone strike in Middle East that left three American soldiers dead and over 30 others wounded has created a dire situation that Paws of War is helping with. Now on a critical mission, the rescue group is working quickly to get 6 dogs who are siblings rescued from Middle East to America so they can live with the American soldiers who currently care for them. With the situation being dangerous and unpredictable, this is a mission that Paws of War must act quickly on, creating an urgent need for public support.

“We are deeply saddened to learn that more soldiers died overseas. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their families,” says Robert Misseri, the co-founder of Paws of War. “Everyday our organization works to honor and serve the heroes that serve our country.”

While animal rescues of this nature often take weeks to plan and execute, they do not have such luxuries in this case. Following the drone attack, there is a dire need to get the pets moved immediately to safety. The day before the drone attack, the group rescued a cat named Narvy for an Army soldier stationed in Iraq. Little did they know that only 24 hours later, that rescue would not have been possible.

Paws of War has rescued many pets for deployed soldiers overseas, moving the dogs and cats to America to be with the soldier's families. Being deployed overseas is difficult for soldiers, who sometimes bond with a stray dog or cat. That bond helps fill the gap of being away from home, bringing the soldier comfort. Most of the pets have been rescued by the soldiers, and they have nursed them to health and created a strong and meaningful bond. Once it is time for deployment to be over, they cannot bear to leave the pet behind, and they ask Paws of War for help.

“Our troops serving overseas sacrifice so much and are under so much stress that for some, respite and therapy comes in the form of a stray cat or dog they see near the base,” adds Misseri. “The bonds formed with these animals become so strong so quickly. Together, we can give back to these soldiers by saving their pets and getting them out of a dangerous area.”

The rescues in the Middle East are becoming more complex and expensive for Paws of War. They can only continue to complete the missions with the support of those in the community. They currently need help getting 6 dogs rescued and into the arms of their soldiers in the U.S., including King, Hades, Socks, Shio, Ulfhednar, and Milo. To help make the mission successful by donating to support the cause, visit the site at: https://pawsofwar.org/?form=emergency

Paws of War also focuses on giving back to veterans in various ways. They have helped veterans with numerous issues, including suicide prevention, service and support dogs, companion cats and dogs, food insecurity, veterinary care, etc. Paws of War has a large loyal following of supporters and looks forward to working with new corporate sponsors to support these life-saving programs.
