Aliante Casino + Hotel + Spa, a AAA Four Diamond resort, will partner with Duckhorn Vineyards of Napa Valley, Calif., to host an exclusive wine pairing dinner in the Grand Ballroom at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18.The three-course dinner will be priced at $95 per person and begin with imported and domestic cheeses, a grilled vegetable display and passed hors d’oeuvres including Scottish salmon rolls, caprese skewers and coconut shrimp; paired with a 2014 Decoy Sauvignon Blanc Sonoma Valley. For the first course, guests will enjoy a baby arugula salad with golden beets, duck confit and roasted peppers, tossed in a candied pecan vinaigrette, and served with a 2013 Migration Chardonnay Russian River.
The entrée course will consist of dry aged ‘1855’ New York striploin, portobello mushroom risotto, California asparagus and Casco Bay truffle butter, paired with a 2012 Duckhorn Merlot Napa Valley. The meal will conclude with chocolate fudge icebox cake with bourbon macerated cherries and fresh blackberries, paired with a 2012 Goldeneye Pinot Noir Anderson Valley.
John Kapranopoulos, the Western Sales Manager for Duckhorn Wine Company, will also be attending the dinner to discuss the history of the vineyards, the chosen wine selections, and answer any questions.
