Drive For Charity Golf Tournament Takes Place June 10th At TPC Las Vegas! Still Time To Register!

The Las Vegas Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities will host its annual golf tournament, Drive For Charity Presented By Insomniac, on Monday, June 10, at TPC Las Vegas.

Registration begins at 7 a.m. followed by a shamble shotgun start at 8 a.m.

 Foursomes cost $800 and include a round of golf for four, golf cart, unlimited range balls, continental breakfast, awards lunch, golf shirt and gift bag.

Single registration is $200 and includes a golf cart, round of golf, unlimited range balls, continental breakfast, awards lunch, golf shirt and gift bag.

The tournament is sponsored by Las Vegas Motor Speedway, ESPN Radio, The Cannery Hotel & Casino, Vector Las Vegas and Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

Making a difference in a child’s life is the focus of Speedway Children’s Charities. SCC strives to do this in collaboration with the non-profit organizations it supports nationwide. Individually, SCC’s local chapters identify the needs of children in their communities and award grants to organizations that address them. Since its inception in 1999, Speedway Children’s Charities has granted more than $2.5 million to local children’s causes.

Viewing Party Of "Toddlers & Tiaras" With Diva Frank Marino! He Emceed!

Something fierce is brewing at Something’s Brewing Café, where the cast of  Divas Starring Frank Marino will join the mini divas from “Toddlers & Tiaras” for a special viewing party of the episode they star in together. The event will take place Wednesday, June 19 at 5:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

The episode, filmed on Jan. 10, finds Marino, Las Vegas’ longest running headliner, emceeing the Little Miss Nevada, LLC pageant, while his divas bring the glitz and glam from their show at The Quad Resort and Casino to the judging table.

“I felt like I was appearing in ‘Austin Powers’ with 20 mini-me’s surrounding me,” said Marino of the experience. “The kids and I had a lot in common, sharing the motto ‘too much is just enough.’ ”

Marino has been a Las Vegas headliner for more than 25 years. An accomplished author, newscaster, columnist, spokesperson and male actress, he stars in Divas Starring Frank Marino, produced by SPI Entertainment.

The bestselling author of HIS MAJESTY, THE QUEEN, Marino also appeared in “Miss Congeniality 2,” alongside Academy Award-winner Sandra Bullock. After performing for more than 10 million people, Guinness World Records bestowed him with the honor of most performances by a headliner on any Las Vegas stage.

“We wanted the cast of Divas Starring Frank Marino to be judges, because who knows perfect hair and makeup better?” said Tami Soudbakhsh, owner of Little Miss Nevada, LLC pageant. “As for judging a glitzy entertainment routine, we knew the divas, being such strong entertainers, could find the contestant with that special spark.”

Little Miss and Mr. Las Vegas Pageants delight the hearts of children all over.  With a pageant system that celebrates the wonder and joy of childhood in a decorated showroom with beautiful girls and handsome boys dressed up as if on their way to a royal ball. All contestants are crowned and each is winning royalty.

On Wednesday, June 5, The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas held an event in cooperation with Stop Hunger Now, reigning Miss USA Nana Meriwether, and 31 contestants from Miss USA 2013 to package meals for developing countries. Miss USA and the Miss USA 2013 contestants took time out of their schedules to join the fight to end world hunger. Alongside 100 Venetian|Palazzo Team Members, the group packaged almost 19,000 nutritious dehydrated meals comprised of rice, soy, vegetables, and 21 essential vitamins and minerals.

The night of festivities kicked off with comedian and host Dannon Green taking the stage to welcome the guests while acrobats entertained the crowd. Celebrities were all seen wearing their favorite Simon G. Jewelry to the event. Audrina and Katrina were spotted showing off their jewels and trying on each other’s diamonds.

Peta Murgatroyd was spotted sipping the crowd’s favorite Lychee Martini while making her way to the VIP lounge. Guests at the Simon G. Soiree enjoyed delicious cocktails throughout the night such as The 58th Street Manhattan, which is made with Collingwood, a unique Canadian whiskey, and named after TAO’s original location in Manhattan on 58th Street. Another popular favorite of the night was The Angry Mule, which is a twist on the conventional cocktail made with the Kentucky favorite bourbon, Woodford Reserve, and the 100% Agave premium Herradura tequila, for a unique flavor combination.

Performance painter David Garibaldi captivated the crowd by creating live paintings on stage including a portrait of creator and founder of Simon G., Simon Ghanimian, Frank Sinatra, and Elvis Pressley. The evening concluded with a celebratory finale as Village People performed their classic hit Y.M.C.A and celebrities and VIP guests were showered with confetti.
