While adoring fans of “Guiding Light” are tearful that the longest running show in history has been cancelled, the "Guiding LIGHT” still shines on. The final episode has aired…and now the most beloved actors from “Guiding Light” are hitting the road, and making their only West Coast stop to personally thank and say goodbye to the loyal followers of the show. With sold out stops in both Pittsburgh and Atlanta , these engaging events are completely unprecedented and unique, allowing fans to see the stars they’ve watched for decades in ways they never dreamed possible. The Las Vegas extravaganza will take place in the convention center of the Rio on Saturday, Dec. 5 with a daytime session from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and an evening session that runs 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The daytime session includes an insightful question & answer session, a photo op with several actors, a behind-the-scenes presentation from a “Guiding Light” director and a hilarious, high-energy scene acting portion where randomly selected fans have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to act out real scenes with the actors using actual scripts. The evening session begins with light hors d’oeuvres, followed by a musical interlude of vocal performances by the stars, where attendees are again, seeing the actors as never before. The “magic” continues as the actors reveal and expose feelings and stories that many have never shared with each other.

Throughout the day, fans will have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction with 100% of the proceeds benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Southern Nevada. Items being auctioned are priceless to “Guiding Light” fans, as these treasures are straight from the sets and dressing rooms of the show. Items include a beaded gown gown by “Reva,” a stunning faux pearl and diamond necklace worn by “Dinah,” decorative items from the yearly Bauer barbeque and the granite Spaulding tombstone. This silent auction opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 7:45 p.m. Winners must be present to win.

Gala Event At City Center - Opening of Vdara! Is Las Vegas Ready?

Vdara opened with a flurry of excitement and anticipation on Tuesday night. Vanity Fair co-hosted the event and Orlando Bloom and Rosario Dawson added their star wattage to the event. With Orlando was girl-friend Miranda Kerr and Rosario's boyfriend DJ Mathieu Schreyer was spinning at the party. On hand to celebrate were also Las Vegas notables such as Joe Brown, Jones Vargas and Robin Greenspun. Spotted in the crowd Jake Saady looking handsome and dapper and Luxury's Managing Eitor Beth Schwartz. Writer's Norm Clark and Doug Elfman were also in attendance! On Wednesday, December 2nd Louis Vuitton will illuminate the special light display at Louis Vuitton CityCenter signifying the opening of the new store at Crystals. Inspired by the vibrant, ever changing nature of the Las Vegas. “strip”, the façade comes alive at night with a dazzling light show made by over 4,000 LEDs

“Louis Vuitton has been present in the United States since 1898 and we are proud to open the 134th store in North America at CityCenter in Las Vegas,” said Daniel Lalonde, President and CEO of Louis Vuitton North America. “The CityCenter store is very special as it reflects the spirit of Las Vegas and the architecture of CityCenter, yet still remains true to the heritage of Louis Vuitton. This will be our first location on Las Vegas Boulevard; the first store in Las Vegas opened in 1988.”

This will be the largest store in North America and the 5th largest location worldwide. On the evening of December 2nd, Daniel Lalonde will first light the facade, which will run for 5 minutes at 11:00 pm, following the private dinner in the store to celebrate the opening. The illuminated facade will begin again at midnight that evening and will run every night from sunset to sunrise.
