In addition, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s Vice President of Marketing Philip Shalala threw out the first pitch at the Las Vegas 51’s “Baldy Summer Classic” at Cashman Field. “Baldy Summer Classic” is a lead up to the Eighth Annual Baldy Bash, which raises money for Nevada PEP and will be held on Sunday, Sept. 27 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Michael Jackson Tribute at the Pearl at the Palms!

The star studded Michael Jackson tribute event was held at The Pearl inside the Palms Casino Resort on Saturday, Aug 29th. The event hit its mark and raised more than $100,000 for Clark County schools. Performers included casts of The Jersey Boys and Lion King, and acts such as Peepshow, Mosaic and The Higher performed their favorite Michael Jackson songs to a packed house. Tribute to DJ AM

On Friday night, the Palms Resort Casino and Rain Nightclub held a special tribute for turntable phenom DJ AM (Adam Goldstein). DJ AM served as resident DJ for Rain Nightclub and hosted the weekly event called “AM Fridays” where he spun his famous hip-hop mash-up on select Friday nights and featured world-renowned DJ friends. The staff inside the nightclub each wore DJ AM t-shirts and Nike sneakers while Greg Lopez and DJ R.O.B.(Robert Hathcock) took the stage. At midnight, DJ R.O.B., who usually opens for DJ AM, stopped the music to say a few words and called for 60 seconds of silence in remembrance of him. The crowd then raised their lighters and cell phones as P. Diddy’s remake of “Every Breath You Take” titled "I'll Be Missing You," created as a tribute to Biggie Smalls aka Notorious B.I.G., was played during a photo montage of DJ AM that appeared on the video screens throughout the club. Earlier in the evening the Palms Casino Resort sign darkened the exterior letters so that only the A and M were illuminated. A table at the entrance of Rain served as a memorial for guests who left flowers and personal tokens of DJ AM.

Bill Maher, Emmy-nominated host of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, visited BODIES… The Exhibition inside Luxor Hotel & Casino Friday, August 28. Maher was accompanied by an well-informed young woman who said she had a medical background. The two spent the most time in the circulatory and reproductive rooms discussing the specimens and human anatomy extensively. The couple remained discreet while inside BODIES but were seen holding hands as they left the Exhibition.
