Former Churchill Downs and NFL Executive to head LVMS sales team Mike Mossholder has been named Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Mossholder comes to LVMS from his post as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky. Prior to working at the famed horse-racing facility, Mossholder spent five years as Director of Marketing partnerships for the Miami Dolphins and Dolphin Stadium (now Landshark Stadium). While with the Dolphins, he was instrumental in securing corporate partnerships for the NFL team as well as for the 2007 and 2010 Super Bowls, the 2009 BCS Championship game and the Florida Marlins. “We’re very happy to have Mike joining our management team here at Las Vegas Motor Speedway,” said LVMS President Chris Powell. “Mike brings a wealth of experience in professional sports and sports-venue sales and marketing to LVMS. He’s coming from the most famous horse-racing facility in the world to one of the world’s most popular motorsports facilities. “Mike will be a key addition to an already strong staff here at LVMS. We’re glad he’s decided to exchange horses for horsepower.”

Las Vegas Movie! Rachel Grubbs in new Zombie Project

Haunting Kira Gives Horror Movie Actress Something To Scream About Rachel Grubb looks forward to new female-directed zombie project being shot in Las Vegas Scream Queen Rachel Grubb has nabbed the lead role in the upcoming Teresa Fahs' film "Haunting Kira," which will shoot in Las Vegas in early 2010. The official announcement was made the day after Comic Con International in San Diego wrapped. Grubb, the star of the indie horror films "Terror Overload," "Tales of the Dead," "13 Hours in a Warehouse," "Strip Club Slasher," "Camp Kill" and "Cave Women on Mars," said she can't wait to get started on the project. "I love the script," Grubb said. "It's funny and original with lots of gorey goodness." With close to 30 projects under her belt already and being a fan of the works of David Cronenberg, Dario Argento and Debbie Rochon, Grubb knows a thing or two about horror films. So fans can trust her when she says "Haunting Kira" is unlike any other zombie feature. "Seriously, it's nothing like the majority of zombie movies," Grubb said. "Most zombie movies are about the world being chased by animated corpses, and the living having to fight to stay alive. This is only about one zombie, and it's not an epidemic. Instead, it's about a spirit who's discovered a way to infiltrate a corpse. It's a zombie, but this time, the audience has this relationship with his mind. He feels what's happening to him in the rotting vessel and we experience that along with him." Already the film has been offered distribution and is getting quite a bit of buzz online, including genre site ArrowintheHead.com, which has said the film has "major potential." Toad the West Sprocket FREE at Voodoo Beach!

Toad the Wet Sprocket, an alternative rock band best known for their hits “All I Want” and “Walk on the Ocean.” First formed in 1986 their mellow, melodic folk-pop sound made them one of the most successful alternative rock bands of the early 1990s. Though officially broken up since 1998, the foursome has worked together off and on over the years. In May of 2009 they played a four show mini-tour. Positive crowd response brought them together for a second 12-stop mini tour this summer.

Kandy Vegas Lingerie Ball at The Palms! Snoop Dog and more!

Partygoers made their way to the Palms Pool & Bungalows inside Palms Casino Resort Saturday night (7.25.09) as the pool served as the official Kandy Vegas playground, transforming into a massive ultra-lounge for the Kandy Vegas Lingerie Ball. The evening featured a unique poolside performance by Grammy award-winning artist, Snoop Dogg, who is best known for, “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” “Sensual Seduction” and “Gin & Juice.” Joining him was Give Records sexiest new recording artist, s Following Snoop Dogg’s performance, he and eight of his friends hung out and enjoyed the scene from a VIP cabana where they sipped on mixed drinks. Celebrities spotted amongst the masses included: Portland Trail Blazers, Greg Oden, who was accompanied by five others; retired NFL athlete Jamie Sharper, who sat in a pool deck cabana with three friends; St. Louis Rams running back, Steven Jackson, who also enjoyed the party from a pool deck cabana with three others; singer and reality star, Ashley Parker Angel; and the cast of reality show, Sunset Tan- Ania Migdal, Devin Haman, Janelle Perry, Jeff Bozz, Jenae Alt, Molly Shea and Nick D’Anna.
