Element Hotel by Westin will present An Evening of Hope to benefit Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada , a cocktail reception-style fundraiser to help raise money to provide support, education, hope and advocacy through programs and services for children and adolescents with cancer and their families.
An Evening of Hope will be a special night for Candlelighters to honor Speedway Children’s Charities for its work in the community, Conne Schettler for her countless hours of volunteer work and two special Candlelighters children, Ashlee Tunney and Adrian Fox.
The fundraiser will feature entertainment from The Frequency, complimentary cocktails and a taste of hors d’oeuvres from around the world from favorite local restaurants including Memphis Championship Barbeque, Paymon’s Mediterranean CafĂ© and Lounge, Ricardo’s of Las Vegas, Origin India Restaurant and Bar, Nora's Wine Bar and Osteria, Charlie Palmer Steak, Hash House A Go Go, Sedona Restaurant & Lounge, Hokkaido Japanese Steakhouse, Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, Chef Flemmings and Leopold Bakery have all graciously agreed to donate a wide selection of provisions for guests to enjoy.

Las Vegas Motor Speedway to host Corporate Challenge events
Las Vegas Motor Speedway will welcome local companies and more than 1,500 of their employees for the Las Vegas Corporate Challenge Walk and Bike Race, April 28-29. The walk will be held Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. and the bike race will take place on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Each event will feature participants from several major Las Vegas corporations.
Corporate Challenge provides a healthy way for local companies and their employees to stay active in the community while adding a social component for those that want to sit on the sidelines and cheer on their colleagues. The event brings the spirit of the Olympics to a local and more intimate playing field. Corporate Challenge offers 33 different events throughout the Las Vegas area during a 12-week period. Events began in March and will continue through the second week of June 2009.
“The City of Las Vegas is fortunate to have such partners as Las Vegas Motor Speedway to host the Corporate Challenge Walk and Bike Race,” said City of Las Vegas Corporate Challenge Coordinator Andrea Anzalone. “Through their generosity we are able to offer two events, have 1,500 participants and are able to improve the quality of life of professionals in the Las Vegas Valley.”

Most recently she moved back to New York City where she performed her one woman show “Tales of a PT&A Mom” at Gotham Comedy Club and the 45th St. Theatre. Montgomery is a regular performer at most New York comedy clubs including Dangerfield’s and the Laugh Factory. Meanwhile over at the Palms plenty was going on this week-end! Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather dined at N9NE Steakhouse inside Palms Casino Resort Sunday night (4.26.09). Dressed in jeans, a white shirt and a diamond necklace, he sat in the main dining room and feasted on a variety of appetizers, including the mini shellfish platter, the signature rock shrimp, steak fries and chicken nuggets made exclusively for his visit by Executive Chef Barry Dakake. Mayweather enjoyed the apple pie for dessert. Over at Playboy Club, Miss Playboy Alison Waite (May 2006) announced Victoria Moore as the winner of Miss Playboy Club April. Moore celebrated her new title alongside Waite and Kasey Unroe, Miss Playboy Club March. On Saturday night (4.25.09), boxing champion Ricky Hatton dined at Nove Italiano with a group of six. The party shared family-style appetizers sent out by Executive Chef Geno Bernardo. Hatton also made his way into the kitchen, said hello to the staff and signed Chef Geno’s door.
