CSI: The Experience to Host Spring Blood Drive!! Give Blood - Free Admission!

CSI: The Experience to Host Spring Blood Drive in Partnership with United Blood Services on March 26 at MGM

All Donors Receive Free Admission to CSI: The Experience

Did you know that more than 250 donors are needed every day to meet the needs of hospital patients throughout Southern Nevada? As part of an incentive to encourage communities to donate and make a positive difference, CSI: The Experience is partnering with United Blood Services to host a blood drive Saturday, March 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at MGM Grand.  All donors will receive a complimentary ticket to check out the intriguing and hands-on exhibit, CSI: The Experience between March 26 and April 9, 2011.

“We hope that this partnership will help encourage the community to donate,” says Jeff Pluth, General Manager of CSI: The Experience. “In return, donors will be given an opportunity to play the role of crime scene investigator as they crack the case in our fascinating and interactive exhibit.”

According to United Blood Services, over 200 pints of blood must be collected from donors each day to meet patient needs in Las Vegas alone.

Las Vegas Blood Collection Statistics:
·         The national average for blood collection is 5%; Las Vegas average is 2.5%

    * United Blood Services is the only blood collection organization in Las Vegas and serves more than 21 hospitals in Southern Nevada and Northern Arizona
    * Less than 2% of the Las Vegas population gives blood on a regular basis, although it is estimated that 72% are eligible to donate
    * Most donors can give up to six times a year, but 65% of existing donors give only once a year

Based on the hit CBS show, CSI: The Experience displays true-to-life mysteries inviting guests to crack the case in a thrilling and engaging environment. Through hands-on activities and using real equipment, patrons are given the tools to gather the evidence, investigate the scene and solve the crime.  Spanning 12,000 square feet and featuring thousands of hand-made props, CSI: The Experience places guests in the role of crime scene investigator as they solve one of three intriguing crime scenes.

Located along MGM Grand’s Studio Walk, CSI: The Experience is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with the last tour happening at 9 p.m. General admission is $30 per person and special group pricing is available for parties of 15 or more.  Advance ticket purchases are recommended. CSI: The Experience is designed for guests 12 years of age or older.  For more information, call MGM Grand at (702) 891-1111 or go online to www.mgmgrand.com or www.csiexhibit.com.

Snoop Dog shakes Studio 54 up!! Only in Las Vegas!

Rapping superstar Snoop Dogg took to the stage at Studio 54 in MGM Grand for a special performance. The casino floor was abuzz with excitement for the icon’s arrival; Studio 54’s line wrapped out the door as the crowd gathered hoping to catch a glimpse of the Doggfather.

Cheers erupted as a large entourage made its way to the red carpet outside Studio 54. Fans went wild snapping pictures of Snoop Dogg, who arrived looking fly in his signature shades and dripping in ice. Posing on the carpet, Snoop said, “I’m just here [at Studio 54] having a good time; you know to party, to celebrate. I heard [Studio 54] was popping so I’m going to see what it do.”

When asked about future projects, Snoop kept it on the sly, replying, “You know me, I’m spontaneous. I don’t really like to talk about it; I like to be about it. So [if anything] has Snoop Dogg on the project, you know you’re going to get it.”

Snoop D-O Double-G then made his way into the iconic nightclub, where DJ Kid Jay was warming up the crowd for the popping performance. The sexy party-goers went wild as the club went dark and DJ Kid Jay asked, “Are y’all ready for the King of the West Coast? Make some noise!”

“La Da Di Da” blared over the speakers as the rapping icon appeared and launched his performance. Snoop Dogg was loving the Studio 54 crowd and told the DJ to “Gimme some of that old school Snoop Dogg [stuff]” and “Gin and Juice” began.

Working the crowd, Snoop declared, “They told me to do three songs, but I’ve got to do more,” and launched into an impromptu hour-long performance for Studio 54 party-goers! Akon’s “I Wanna Love You” was up next, which the smooth-talker ended by serenading one of the sexy front-row ladies with “You can’t see me but I can see you” as he seductively removed his shades.

Ever the ladies man, Snoop continued his serenade with sexy hits “Drop It Like It’s Hot” and “Sensual Seduction.” Singling out one lucky lady, D-O Double G cooed, “I see you back there baby. There sure are some pretty [ladies] in here tonight. Wow-wee! Baby got goo-goo eyes. Studio 54 make some noise!”

The iconic club was exploding with energy as Snoop’s performance lasted well into the early morning. “This is my first time at Studio 54. Everyone’s lookin’ good and feelin’ good and I’m havin’ a really good time,” Snoop Doggy Dogg hollered at the crowd before wrapping up the show with “Mary Jane.”

Before leaving the stage to celebrate another amazing performance, Snoop yelled, “Studio 54…My name is Snoop. Keep lookin’ fine. Thank y’all. I’ll be up top, ladies come holler.”

DJ Kid Jay took back the turn tables and kept the party going with the appropriately chosen “Dog Catcher” by George Clinton while the Doggfather made his way to his VIP table overseeing the entire party.

First Preliminary Round of Miss Knockout at Studio 54! Lovely Ladies!

DJ Loczi and Miss Knockout Contestant on stage at Studio 54 Las Vegas

Excitement filled the air as Studio 54 inside MGM Grand kicked off the first preliminary round in search for MGM Grand’s 2011 boxing ring girls last night. Nine sexy, bikini-clad ladies entered the Miss Knockout competition, all with hopes of being selected as one of the finalists to move on to the grand finale competition March 31.

Passersby couldn’t help but stare as the hot contestants posed on the red carpet for photographers and fans. With their rock-hard bodies and sexy smiles, the ladies proved this competition was going to be fierce.

Inside the illustrious nightclub, the crowd anxiously awaited the competition as DJ Forbes kept the house bumping to hot beats like Enrique Iglesias’ “I Like It.” The always sexy Studio 54 dancers kicked off the competition with a red-hot routine to Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite,” and Studio 54’s own DJ Loczi rocked the mic as the competition’s fun and witty host. Loczi introduced the Miss Knockout contestants as they each took to the stage, strutting their stuff, dancing to the music and waving to fans in the crowd. The sexy vixens glowed with their long, batting eyelashes and glitter-covered bodies as the glamorous girls each answered a question asked by Loczi.

The final decision was not an easy one as special guest judges, including Vegas Minute’s Danielle Demski, tallied up their scores. The audience enthusiastically cast their votes for “People’s Choice.” Lucky ladies Donyelle Browne, Angela Shih, Mariah Nieslanik, Lindsay Grieshaber and Tracy Wilson were announced as the finalists to move on to Miss Knockout’s grand finale competition on March 31 where they will have the opportunity to compete for the official Miss Knockout title, a $5,000 prize, an official contract with MGM Grand and a VIP party  with their friends at Studio 54 after every boxing match. Shih took away the People’s Choice award and gave the crowd an ecstatic, cheerleader-like high-kick to display her excitement and gratitude.

All is not lost for the ladies who weren’t chosen to move on to the finals as they will have the opportunity to try again and enter next week’s preliminary round Thursday, March 10.
