Are you coming to Las Vegas soon? If so one of the best shows on the Las Vegas strip is The Phantom of the Opera! This wonderful and exciting show celebrated its 2000^th performance on Tuesday Feb 1^st. It is easy to see why the house was packed! What could be said about this production? The lavishness of the sets, the intricate beautiful costumes, the magnificent chandelier, the extraordinary talented cast all is included in this show!

It was interesting to have lunch with the cast of The Phantom and then see them perform on stage, The Phantom who is played by Anthony Crivello is a method trained actor and his intense performance enhances the Phantom’s every move. To be able to portray such a tormented soul night after night takes extreme talent. When asked if he had seen the movie Crivello answered that he had not. Why? Because it might affect his performance in ways that he might not be aware of. That is dedication! He also spoke about before the show opened it was seven weeks of grueling rehearsals, plus the fact that he auditioned 4 times and took part in one rehearsal before being cast.

After the performance on Tuesday night he addressed the crowd and thanked them on behalf of the cast and stated that he was proud and fortunate to work with such a talented cast on all levels. He did mention that he has spent over 80 days total when added up in the make-up chair and compared it to Moses 40 days and nights on the ark! A comparison that the audience enjoyed!

The stagecraft and costumes are breathtaking! DETAIL, DETAIL, DETAIL! Nothing is overlooked. Sequins, feather, fur and brocade and silk! Every costume and especially the Masquerade scene will take your breath away.

Every actor from the leads to the chorus brings a special magic each night to the stage. The voices are pure and strong! So the recommendation? If you are an engineer you will marvel at the stagecraft, if you are an opera lover you will love the voices, if you are an actor you will appreciate the performances of each character, if you are none of the above and are a much appreciated tourist….SEE THE SHOW!

Tuesday night Lisa Marie Presley celebrated her 43^rd birthday at TAO Asian Bistro.  She was joined by a group including her husband Michael Lockwood, mother Priscilla and daughter Riley, as well as Ryan Cabrera and producer Nigel Lythgoe.  The group of 40 enjoyed a dinner of signature items from the chef and Presley’s family and friends surprised her with a birthday cake.

After attending Lisa Marie Presley’s birthday dinner at TAO on Tuesday, Ryan Cabrera was spotted at LAVO, where he celebrated the victory of Femme Fatale Football winners Chelsey and Danica at a VIP table stocked with Grey Goose.

This past week-end Slash hosted his after concert party at TAO.  After opening for Ozzy Osbourne, Slash, his wife Perla and a large group of friends gathered for a dinner of signature dishes at the Asian Bistro, including the rocker’s favorite, General Tso’s Chicken. 

On the red carpet he shared that he loves coming to Vegas because it is so close to Southern California and he has so much fun here.  He said he has some projects coming up for his movie production company, Slasher Films, but said there are no plans for him to get in front of the camera as he is only going to produce.

Slash and the group, including Laura Croft from Holly’s World, arrived upstairs in the club to great fanfare, taking over several tables on the dance floor as fans crowded to get pictures.  He joined DJ Ross One in the DJ booth, announcing to the crowd that he was going to play make shift DJ and, “and interrupt your regular programming for an hour or so.”  Slash started off his set with Sweet Child O’ Mine, Welcome to the Jungle and Crazy Train, setting the stage for the perfect night.  After getting the party started, Slash returned to his table to watch the crowd enjoy his specially selected play list.

Pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, Sergio Romo, dined at N9NE Steakhouse inside Palms Casino Resort Saturday night (1.29.11).  Accompanied by a party of five, Romo enjoyed the wontons to start and feasted on the NY steak with mashed potatoes for his main course.

Following dinner, Romo enjoyed the scene at Moon Nightclub with friends.  Official DJ of the San Francisco Giants, DJ E-Rock spun his beats on the turntables and kept the party going in the packed venue. Also spotted were: illusionist Criss Angel, actor Edwin Hodge with an entourage of 20 guests, MMA fighter Anthony Pettis and Jimbo of the hip-hop group, the HardNox.

New Shopping Area in Tivoli Village Coming Soon!!

Set to open in spring 2011, Tivoli Village at Queensridge announced today five new tenants, expanding the distinct mix of retailers and restaurants that will populate the 2 9 -acre mixed-use development in northwest Las Vegas.

As construction continues and Tivoli Village begins to come to life, several new venues will join the development’s premier collection of tenants including Charming Charlie, Tivoli Irish Pub, Petra Greek Restaurant, Roc of Republic Couture and Obika Optical & Sunglasses.

Named a “2010 Hot Retailer” by International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) earlier this year, Charming Charlie will open a 9 ,000-square-foot location inside Tivoli Village .  The fashion accessory boutique concept continues to expand with nearly 100 locations throughout the country since its inception in 2004.
