Mandarin
Bar’s Shanghai Nights will mirror an Asian-style speakeasy with era décor
including adorning Oriental lanterns, dramatic red hue lighting, intimate
seating and other elaborate touches. While getting lost in Mandarin Bar’s
striking views from the 23rd floor, guests also will enjoy the sounds of live
jazz and contemporary music from the Shaun DeGraff Trio.
“Just
as Shanghai developed a high-flying social scene in the 30s, Mandarin Bar
becomes the place to see and be seen every Tuesday night,” said Priscilla
Young, the new Manager of Mandarin Bar. Young previously was the Beverage
Manager and Mixologist at Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco.
In
addition, Ms. Young and Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas’ Executive Chef, David
Werly, have created special menus of small bites and cocktails reminiscent of
the glamorous Shanghai scene. The specialty drinks echo past times including
the Barrel down the Bund where gin is the star in this spirituous cocktail and
the French Concession which has a European feel combined with Chinese flavors
to showcase both cultures blending together post-war. On the menu, Chef
provides indulgent sushi including the Rice Pepper Roll with Alaskan King Crab
and Jelly Fish as well as a Shanghai Dim Sum selection.
Guests
must be 21 years of age and older. Mandarin Bar opens at 5 p.m.; live music is
6-10 p.m. For additional information or to make table reservations, please call
(888) 881-9367.
