Celebs In Vegas! Who? Where?

Last Sunday, Oct. 16, model and actor Nyle DiMarco dined at N9NE Steakhouse at Palms Casino Resort with a small group of friends prior to his final performance as guest host of Chippendales Las Vegas. The group enjoyed the rock shrimp appetizer with spicy Sriracha sauce, a 22-ounce prime Porterhouse steak and a side of summer corn, served family-style.

Nyle DiMarco is an American model, actor and deaf activist who is best known for winning cycle 22 of CW’s “America’s Next Top Model.” DiMarco is the only deaf contestant to compete on the show and his rise to fame earned him a coveted spot on season 22 of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” where he went on to win the famed Mirrorball trophy with his partner Peta Murgatroyd. DiMarco has been performing as the celebrity guest host of Chippendales since Sept. 22.

Al Pacino Spends A Night Onstage In Las Vegas

Actor, screenwriter, producer, and director Al Pacino brought "An Evening with Al Pacino" to the Opaline Theatre inside The Venetian® Las Vegas, Saturday, Oct. 15. The Oscar, Tony, and Emmy award-winning performer opened up to the audience about his five-decade career. Guests were given the opportunity to speak directly with the living legend in the venue's intimate and inviting setting.

The film star discussed how he got into acting - in spite of a childhood ambition to play baseball - and talked about his mentors who included Charlie Lung and Lee Strosberg. Among the revelations he gave were that Paramount Pictures did not want him cast as Michael Corleone in "The Godfather." When asked who his most difficult role was, he replied "Sonny Wortzik in 'Dog Day Afternoon'."

The stage and screen icon ended the evening with a monologue from "When God Looked Away," a play where Pacino portrays famed playwright Tennessee Williams. The play, adapted from Dotson Rader's 1985 Williams biography, is scheduled for Broadway during the 2016-17 season.

Pacino has starred in more than 40 films, including "The Godfather" trilogy, "Dog Day Afternoon," "Serpico," "Dick Tracy," "Heat," "Scarface," "Any Given Sunday," "Carlito's Way," and "Scent of a Woman," for which he won an Oscar for in 1992. In 2011, he was awarded a National Medal of Arts from President Obama.

Senator's Cup Fall Classic Comes To The Bullring At LVMS On 10/22

Visiting regional series racers, an appearance by a United States senator and a $15,000 first-place prize will be just some of the highlights of the Senator’s Cup Fall Classic at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend.

U.S. Senator Dean Heller (R-Nev.), himself a former Bullring racer, will be on-hand for Saturday night’s racing action that will include a $15,000 check to the winner of the 150-lap Super Late Models feature. Sen. Heller, the former Nevada Secretary of State (1995-2007) and representative for Nevada’s Second Congressional District (2007-11), raced at The Bullring in the early 2000s.

Sen. Heller, who got into racing through his father, Jack, who raced Super Stocks, will present the champion’s check in the Winner’s Circle for the 150-lap Super Late Models feature. Defending champion Linny White of Fontana, Calif., will be among the Super Late Models drivers competing, along with local stars Noah Gragson, Dustin Ash, Kayli Barker, Jay Beasley and Chris Trickle.

The 150-lap NASCAR Super Late Models 150 and the Late Models 100 highlight a full slate of features spread out over the course of the weekend at the 3/8-mile paved oval. Defending champion Trevor Huddleston of Agoura Hills, Calif., will be back to go for another trip to the Winner’s Circle.

Friday night kicks off the festivities with qualifying for the 24-car Super Late Models 150 and Late Models 100 features, along with various heat races and features for the USAC HPD Midgets, South West Tour Truck Series/Pro Trucks and U.S. Legends classes.

Then, on Saturday night, heat races and a qualifying session lead into features in the Bandolero, NASCAR Bombers, NASCAR Super Stocks, U.S. Legends, USAC HPD Midgets and South West Tour Truck Series/Pro Trucks divisions. The weekend’s lengthiest features – the Late Models 100 and Super Late Models 150 – will feature pit stops at their midway points where car crews can add fuel, but not tires, for the races’ second halves.

One of the most affordable entertainment options in Las Vegas, the Bullring’s annual series will feature family friendly concession prices that include $2 hot dogs and Coca-Cola products and $3 Budweiser beer. Spectators can also save money by purchasing admission tickets in advance by visiting or calling the LVMS ticket office at 702.644.4444 or online at LVMS.com.

6th Annual NF Hope Concert Coming Up At The Palazzo!

Las Vegas' most prominent entertainers will take the stage once again at the sixth annual "NF Hope Concert" October 23 at The Palazzo® Las Vegas.

Benefit organizer Jeff Leibow, formerly of JERSEY BOYS, has brought together a veritable who's who of Las Vegas performers, including Clint Holmes, Gordie Brown, Susan Anton and many others in an afternoon spectacular to raise money and awareness for the Neurofibromatosis Network, an organization dedicated to families and individuals suffering from Neurofibromatosis (NF), and the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation to support NF families in Southern Nevada.
“Every year, we are overwhelmed by the incredible generosity of this town’s headliners,” says Leibow. “There are no words to properly express our gratitude.”

Tickets start at $59 and are available at Palazzo.com or by calling The Palazzo box office at 702.414.9000 or 866.641.7469.

Since the inaugural event in 2011, the “NF Hope Concert” has grown by leaps and bounds and now raises close to $100,000 every year for Neurofibromatosis research and advocacy. This year’s all-star lineup includes: Award Winning Vegas Headliners Clint Holmes and Gordie Brown, Golden Globe nominated actress Susan Anton, American Idol Finalist Jasmine Trias, Ben Stone, newcomers Reckless in Vegas and These Guys, the stars of BAZ: Star Crossed Love as well as some surprise guests.  There will also be a final farewell to JERSEY BOYS, Las Vegas’ longest-running Broadway musical on the stage where it all started more than eight years ago.

NF is a genetic disorder of the nervous system that results in a mutation on a gene that normally suppresses tumor growth, which allows for tumors to grow on any nerve in the body without warning. Leibow’s young daughter, Emma, was diagnosed with this condition in 2010 when she was just nine months old. As Leibow and his wife, Melody, learned more about the disorder’s devastating effects, they conceived the idea for the concert with the realization that they had an obligation to both their family and the 140,000 people living with NF to educate others about the disorder. Although it is a common genetic disorder, most people are not aware that one in 2,500 people are born with it and that it is more common than cystic fibrosis, hereditary muscular dystrophy, Huntington’s disease, and Tay Sachs combined.

Every year, Emma has supplied Leibow and his wife all the inspiration they need to make this event a success, but this year, they have even more to fight for.

“In January, doctors discovered a fast growing tumor in Emma’s brain,” said Leibow.  “We have spent this year meeting with oncologists and a team of other doctors coming up with an action plan.  This new challenge has fueled our drive to make the Sixth Annual NF Concert an even bigger success for Emma and the tens of thousands living with NF in this country.”

A silent auction will be available with noteworthy items, including ticket packages to the top shows on the Strip, hotel stay packages, restaurant gift certificates, spa certificates and more. Participants can access the silent auction beginning Monday, Oct. 10 via NFHope.auction-bid.org. The auction will open for viewing at 11:30 a.m. on the day of the event. For more information on NF Hope, visit NFHope.org. You can follow NF hope on Facebook - www.facebook.com/nfhopeconcert/?fref=ts and Twitter -twitter.com/NFHopeConcert .
