Offer ALERT! Teachers Ride Free On The Linq In September

Next month, Nevada teachers can take a break from planning lessons to take a ride on the world's largest observation wheel. From Sept. 1 through Sept. 30, teachers* will receive a free ride on the High Roller. Friends and family members accompanying teachers will receive 50 percent off their ticket prices.

Topping out at 550 feet, the High Roller is the focal point of The LINQ Promenade, the open-air shopping, dining and entertainment district, that redefines the iconic Las Vegas skyline. Students can also get in on the action with field trips, behind-the-scenes tours and 50 percent off their ticket price with a valid ID.

The High Roller Field Trips
For the 2017-18 school year, teachers may also take their classes on a field trip the students will be sure to remember. The High Roller and the Clark County School District (CCSD) have created the opportunity for K-12 students to learn about critical science, technology, engineering arts and mathematics (STEAM) subjects in a thrilling way. In conjunction with the CCSD Community-Partnership Program, the High Roller field trip takes students behind the scenes while exploring the design and engineering behind the wheels of the world.

Age-appropriate lesson plans designed for grades K-2, grades 3-5, grades 6-8 and grades 9-12 combine classroom instruction with field trips to the High Roller, where STEAM subjects will be brought to life. K-2 students will describe and model their favorite kind of Ferris wheel during the classroom portion of the lesson plan. Students in grades 3-5 will be asked to design a new attraction for the Las Vegas Strip that is safe, cost-effective and energy efficient. Students in grades 6-8 will study the sum forces acting upon the Ferris wheel that enable it to rotate continuously. Finally, high school students will focus on the full design of a Ferris wheel by creating models, safety protocols and a full operation plan for the structure. Students in all grades will have the opportunity to ride the High Roller in person, after which they will have a chance to revise their classroom work based on observations made during the field trip.

To purchase tickets or to book a field trip, go to www.TheLINQ.com.

*Teachers must show Nevada teaching credentials to receive the complimentary ride. The free offer is limited to one ride per teacher. To receive 50 percent off, teachers' friends and family promotional code is HRTE50 and students must use HRWSTU. Offers are not valid with Happy Hour cabins. Limit four tickets per transaction.
