Rí Rá Las Vegas Break Records With It's St. Baldrick’s Shaving Event

Rí Rá Las Vegas held its annual St. Baldrick’s shaving event on Saturday March 4 in an effort to raise funds for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, an organization that is dedicated to treating and finding a cure for childhood cancers. This year, Rí Rá broke its record, raising more than $8,000 for the organization. Twenty-two people went under the buzzer, including women shaving off a full head of hair, men shaving their beards – or just half a beard – and more.

KLUC 98.5 host, Chet Buchanan, joined in on the fight against cancer and served as the event’s host, donating his time and expertise. In addition, cast members from Aussie Heat served as Rí Rá’s celebrity shavers and The Black Donnellys provided entertainment all afternoon long.

If guests did not want to lose their hair, they had multiple ways to donate money, including a raffle contest where they could purchase a ticket for just $1 to be entered for a chance to win a variety of prizes, donating to someone else’s head shave and through purchasing food from a special menu.
