The Epicurean Charitable Foundation Is Looking For Scholarship Applications

Epicurean Charitable Foundation (ECF) is inviting Clark County high school seniors to apply for its scholarship, providing full-ride scholarships for those who attend UNLV, or up to $48,000 per year, for those attending an out of state accredited post-secondary institution. All students must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in hospitality, food and beverage, or culinary. The application can be found at ecflv.org and must be received by March 13, 2017.

Since inception in 2001, ECF has given $1.62 million in scholarships to Clark County students. The nonprofit organization goes beyond just funding by providing each student unique mentorship opportunities with top food & beverage and hospitality executives, along with educational trips, networking and internships.

Scholarship applicants must plan to obtain a bachelor's degree and be enrolled on a full-time basis with a major in hotel management, food & beverage, culinary or related programs. Other qualifications include demonstration of financial need and a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

"Most students never meet those behind their scholarship money," said ECF Chair Michael Kennedy. "Our recipients not only receive the funds for schooling, they get mentorship and guidance from industry professionals who take a personal interest in helping them on their journey to starting their hospitality careers. Our goal is for our students to have the network and experience outside the classroom to receive job offers upon graduation."

The application and more information about the scholarship can be found at ecflv.org. Get social and follow ECF on Instagram and Twitter - twitter.com/epicureanlv and Facebook facebook.com/epicureanlv/.
