#CES2017 & Las Vegas Monorail Team Up For Convention Transportation

For the first time, the Las Vegas Monorail is partnering with technology innovator NXP® Semiconductors to offer attendees of CES, being held in Las Vegas January 5-8, 2017, the ability to use their registration badges as their Monorail ticket. This brand-new, convenient option was made available to CES attendees who purchased Monorail tickets online using a customized link provided to them by tradeshow management.  Throughout the show, attendees can also add a Monorail ticket to their badge through the NXP AppXplorer mobile application from the Google Play store, or by visiting the NXP tent at the Las Vegas Convention Center. NXP then embedded the fare into attendees’ MIFARE® DESFire® EV2 based registration badges with the help of event solution provider ITN International.

“To offer a seamless customer experience, we’re pleased to partner with NXP to make the transportation experience on the Monorail even more hassle-free for attendees,” said Ingrid Reisman, vice president and chief marketing officer, Las Vegas Monorail. “No more need to hunt through wallets and handbags for Monorail tickets—their CES badges enables them to scan their badge and ride the Monorail.”

“Our cooperation with Las Vegas Monorail and ITN International allows us to provide 2017 CES visitors with an extraordinary experience of how true multi-application works” said Markus Staeblein, Vice President and General Manager, Secure Mobility & Retail at NXP. “Monorail tickets can simply be loaded to the CES badge for fast and convenient access to public transport and the venue.”

More and more tradeshow organizers are partnering with the Monorail to offer their attendees a seamless transportation option. In March 2017, attendees of CONEXPO-CON/AGG will be the first to have Monorail fare integrated into the cost of registration. Attendees will receive a 3-day pass and exhibitors will receive a 7-day pass, with the fare built right into their badges.

Hours of operation are Mondays, 7 a.m. to midnight; Tuesday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 2 a.m.; Friday through Sunday, 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. For more information on the Las Vegas Monorail or where to purchase tickets, call 866-4-MONORAIL (866-466-6672); visit www.LVMonorail.com or pick up a Monorail Magazine, available at all Monorail stations.
