Fast Cars! The Annual Championship Night Takes Place At The Bullring On 9/24

A season of short-track battles comes to a conclusion this Saturday when The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway hosts its annual Championship Night.

Twelve divisions will crown champions on the special night, which will include 10 feature races, free prizes and all the drama racing fans can handle. The USAC HPD Midget Series is in town for a 30-lap feature as well on the final night of the regular season.

Each driver’s worst performance from the 2016 season will be dropped on Championship Night, adding suspense to some close points races at the 3/8-mile paved oval. Some drivers have already mathematically clinched their titles, but a number of them will go down to the last lap.

Travis Boyle and Chris Bosley are locked in a tight battle in the USLCI Thunder Cars division, with Boyle holding a 225-223 advantage heading into Saturday. Four-time track champion Caden Carlin is tied with Dezel West atop the USLCI Legends-Young Lions standings with 185 points apiece, and Kayla Eshleman holds a 203-199 lead over Camden Larsen in the USLCI Bandolero Outlaws class going into the final race.

Justin Johnson (NASCAR Super Late Models), Don Sargent (NASCAR Super Stocks), Sam Jacks (NASCAR Bombers), Vinny Raucci Jr. (NASCAR Grand American Modifieds), Cameron Morga (USLCI Legends-Pro), Michael Todd Glazier (USLCI Legends-Masters), Brian Williams (USLCI Legends-Semi-Pro), R.J. Smotherman (USLCI Bandolero Bandits) and Robert Smotherman (Skid plate cars) lead their respective divisions and are in the driver’s seat for season titles.

The racing schedule will include all eight types of cars that run regularly at the short track – NASCAR Super Late Models, Bombers, Grand American Modifieds and Super Stocks, as well as USLCI Legend Cars, Thunder Cars, Bandoleros and skid plate cars.

Gates open at 5 p.m. Pacific Time on Saturday, opening ceremonies are set for 6:55 p.m. and racing follows immediately. Fans can order tickets by calling 702.644.4444 or on LVMS.com, and everyone attending the race will receive free tickets to the Oct. 1 DC Solar 350 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at LVMS.
