“Andy Williams – Moon River and Me!" Show Starring Jimmy Osmond Coming To The Suncoast

Jimmy Osmond brings his tribute special “Andy Williams – Moon River and Me!” to the Suncoast Showroom Sept. 17 and 18.

Osmond got his start in entertainment along with his brothers, who made their first national TV appearance on “The Andy Williams Show” in the 1960’s. They became regulars on the show and Williams became a lifelong friend and mentor to Jimmy Osmond. “Andy Williams – Moon River and Me!” is a celebration of the iconic entertainer’s distinguished career, featuring nostalgic videos of Williams as well as his chart-topping hits performed by Osmond.

Williams’ lengthy career in entertainment was established by his talents in acting and singing. He first rose to fame in the late 1930’s as a member of the Williams Brothers quartet with his older brothers Bob, Don and Dick Williams. In 1954, he landed a recurring role on “Tonight Starring Steve Allen” and recorded several Top 10 hits throughout the decade, including the classics “The Village of St. Bernadette,” “Lonely Street,” “Butterfly,” “Can’t Get Used to Losing You” and many more.

Williams performed the Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer-penned hit song “Moon River” at the 1962 Oscar Awards, a song that cast him even further into the national spotlight. “Moon River” became the theme song for his hit variety show “The Andy Williams Show,” which went on to garner three Emmy Awards.

Showtime is at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are available from $17.50 plus taxes and fees, and can be purchased at any Boyd Gaming box office, by calling 702.284.7777, or visiting www.suncoastcasino.com.
