Las Vegas Showcase Looking For Designers To Enter Competition

Soon to become one of the West Coast's premier design and show house events, the inaugural Las Vegas Showcase House is accepting submissions from local designers until June 24, 2016. Widely revered in the national design community, Showcase House events have occurred in major cities all over America, but this will be the first time Las Vegas joins the ranks.

Featuring the work of the region's top designers, Las Vegas Showcase House will serve as a fundraising event for Core Academy, powered by The Rogers Foundation. Core Academy is a local education and life-building nonprofit that works with Southern Nevada's most under-resourced youth by employing a "whatever it takes" approach to help students strengthen character, build brilliant minds and create brighter futures.

In addition to giving back to the community by supporting Core Academy, Las Vegas Showcase House will highlight historic neighborhoods and promote the city's unique diversity and history, while simultaneously fostering the future of talented designers. With a mission to re-establish Las Vegas as an incubator for world-class architecture and interior design, this initiative will use the best of today's technology and creative thinking while calling upon designers and sponsors in a multitude of areas.

Las Vegas Showcase House intends to tour and inspire tens of thousands of attendees. Available for locals and Las Vegas visitors alike, the final house - opening July 2017 inside the Scotch 80s neighborhood - will expose guests to exquisite and innovative interior designs, architecture, landscaping and more. The house will also feature an on-site cafe serving gourmet delights with wines and beers to complement the menu. Further enhancing the guest experience, visitors will be able to peruse The Shops at Showcase, a collection of boutiques with unique merchandise available for purchase.

All interested designers must submit a biography and portfolio by the June 24 deadline. The initial list of selected designers will be announced on July 15, at which point they will come up with three design concepts. With 18 total rooms available, plus a cabana and poolhouse, there are ample opportunities for designers to spotlight their talents and ideas. On Aug. 3, the selected designers will be notified about which room they will be overseeing and which of their concepts were chosen for that room. Work on the house will commence shortly after.

To submit design concepts or to learn about sponsorship opportunities, contact Cray Bauxmont-Flynn at info@lvshowcase.org or call 702-754-5565.
