LV Philharmonic Performances To Be Re-Broadcast On KCNV 89.7 FM


The Las Vegas Philharmonic has partnered with  Nevada Public Radio to broadcast performances from its current 2015-16 season on KCNV 89.7 FM, Sundays at 2pm and Mondays at 9pm starting April 24. Each broadcast, will be 90 minutes - two hours in length and will include conversation with Music Director, Donato Cabrera and Nevada Public Radio’s Dave Becker as well as full length performances by Your Symphony Orchestra.  The programs featured on air will include the following Las Vegas Philharmonic concerts:

Apr. 24-25: Opening Night – Beethoven & Brahms (performed 9/12/15)

May 1-2: Passport to the World (performed 10/24/15)

May 8-9: Cabrera Celebrates Sibelius (performed 11/21/15)

May 15-16: Cabrera Conducts Rachmaninov (performed 1/9-10)

May 22-23: Cabrera Conducts Mozart (performed 3/5)

Jun. 5-6: Gershwin: Music of the Jazz Age (performed 4/2-3)

Jun. 12-13: Cabrera Conducts Tchaikovsky (performed 5/21-22)

“Nevada Public Radio’s broadcasts of the Las Vegas Philharmonic performing to a rapt audience in the glorious acoustics of the Reynolds Hall at The Smith Center will give a glimpse of the incredible virtuosity of ”Your Symphony Orchestra" to those that haven’t yet attended one of our concerts,” said Donato Cabrera, music director of the Las Vegas Philharmonic.  “It will also be a wonderful opportunity for our fantastic audience and supporters to hear and re-live these exciting concerts again, confirming what can only be experienced by attending a live performance.”

The Las Vegas Philharmonic, led by Music Director, Donato Cabrera, established its presence in Southern Nevada in 1998. The mission of the organization is to perform music that enriches and educates, helping to build a vibrant, culturally rich community.  A proud resident company of The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, the Las Vegas Philharmonic brings a valued cultural dimension to the city, providing over 16,000 children each year with vital access to a music education program and showcasing local talents alongside stellar nationally and internationally known guest artists on the magnificent Reynolds Hall stage.  At the orchestra’s core are 76 contracted professional musicians, many of whom are esteemed educators who also perform in other professional productions in Las Vegas, bringing depth and variety to the organization.
