Enjoy Some Jazz Tonight At The Mob Museum

Museum After Dark Experiences to Take Place April 8, 15, 22 and 29

As part of Jazz Appreciation Month, a speakeasy mood will fill the Museum on Friday nights in April. From sultry blues and mellow harmonies to hard-hitting jazz and high-steppin’ swing, enjoy music and half-price drinks—no need for a password.

Prohibition created the Jazz Age of the 1920s, when gangsters owned the illegal booze trade and competed with each other to offer their patrons the best party music, from small private speakeasies to elaborate nightclubs with integrated crowds. Meanwhile, the police—who were paid off—looked the other way.

An atmosphere of illicit fun surrounded Jazz Age bands, which inspired dance crazes such as the Tango and Charleston. The popularity of jazz grew throughout the decade, popularized via 78 rpm phonograph recordings played in jukeboxes and on the radio.

The Las Vegas Jazz Trio
The Las Vegas Jazz Trio features Kai Brant on vocals, Martin Motnik on bass, Moises Sol on piano and T. G. LaFredo on drums.

Pianist Moises Sol studied at the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico City and has performed with The Buck Ram’s Platters, Jon Secada, and Niccola de Bari, and conducted recording sessions and concert tours for the Mexican Icon Grammy nominee Juan Gabriel. Bassist Martin Motnik is a seasoned musician, performing guitar and bass for audiences worldwide for the past 20 years. Drummer T. G. LaFredo’s studied at Boston’s Berklee College of Music and has recorded and performed in numerous styles, including jazz, rock, fusion, pop, country, and Irish.
