ARRGH! Pirate Fest Begins On 4/8 At Lorenzi Park
The 4th Annual Pirate Fest returns to historic Lorenzi Park April 8-10. The must-see event is produced by R & J Production, the creators of the signature Halloween event at Meadows Mall.
Pirate Fest is sponsored by Councilman Ricki Barlow, the City of Las Vegas and Zappos. It’s a unique festival that includes pirates, steampunk and renaissance and faerie characters. The event boasts live entertainment, music, food, strolling characters, games, activities, a beer garden and the Zappos Cardboard Regatta! Kids will be able to follow a treasure map to complete tasks and win prizes. Activities include making a rope, walking the plank, hoisting sails, getting a pirate name and arts and crafts.
This year is the 3rd Annual Cardboard Regatta sponsored by Zappos. Guests can build a ship out of cardboard using their imagination, glue, duct tape and some paint, and then race it on the lake at Lorenzi Park, Sunday, April 10 at 12pm during Pirate Fest.
NEW THIS YEAR: The Zappos Pavilion! Boats can be brought to the Park on THURSDAY so that guests can work on boats and have them on display. Meadows Mall is one of over 30 organizations that will be competing by building and racing a boat. They are returning to defend their 2015 Most Creative Award! Feeling brave? Limited supplies will be available onsite so guests can build a boat Thursday and at the event Friday and Saturday to race it Sunday. There is no fee to enter your “ship” in the Regatta, so register today, start building tomorrow!
Want to be a real pirate? TWO lucky guests will register to win a trip for two aboard the historic tall ship S/V Mandalay from Sail Windjammer Cruises.
Pirate Fest is $15 for General Admission, $10 for kids (5 to11 years of age, under 4 free), $10 for seniors & Military w/ID. Coupons are available online.
