First Friday Brings You "Power Of Intentions" For April


First Friday Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization,, announces it will feature “(Power of) Intentions” for the April 1 First Friday event, including a Farmer’s Market curated by the Intuitive Forager.

Other new elements for this month include:
·       Three artists live painting (in theme) on three mini Life Cubes
o   Ashley Peek – local artist and body painter (Attending art institute for media arts & animation)
o   LUISMS – local NY-graffiti-style artist (BA in Animation)
o   Clifford Morris – local air brush painter and part of the ISI group
·       Flameology – a dance troupe with fire – performance at 8:30 pm at Art Way and Boulder
·       Dignity Health booth – create a piece of art that will be part of a larger piece and put on display at the new Dignity Health North Las Vegas location in 2017
·       Cowabunga Bay offers creative art projects for the crowd at their booth
·       Special guest, Wee Souls Wellness Sanctuary for Children brings in sound healing, meditation and yoga to First Friday

The First Friday Foundation will post updates on scheduled First Friday events and other programming through its social media channels on Facebook at www.facebook.com/firstfridaylasvegas and Twitter @FirstFridayLV.  The new website, www.firstfridaylasvegas.com, is now active, and applications for artists and vendors are currently being accepted for the February event.


APRIL 1ST FIRST FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS:
 ARTS DISTRICT
Location: Casino Center / Art Way
Art Style: Emerging and established artists, arts, crafts
ArtWalk 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. showcases works by emerging Las Vegas artists. This is the perfect place to find locally-made, handcrafted and unique gifts made by skilled artisans.  Be sure to stop into the Arts Factory and Art Square, and visit the many art galleries and studios. Guerrilla Kages will be displayed with live painting.

First Friday Farmer’s Market: Edible Art 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. curated by Intuitive Forager (who also produces the Downtown Farmer’s Market and the Downtown Summerlin Farmer’s Market) and sponsored by Land Rover.

Chef Demos 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. Join Kerry Clasby as she hosts Executive Chef Shawn Giordano of PublicUs. Chef Shawn hails from Spago, Spago Beverly Hills, Marco Pierre White of London, and David Bouley of New York. On the Land Rover stage.

Welcome Tent 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. Featuring visiting artist Terrill Kevyn Johnson from Philadelphia, PA. Specializing in live art performance painting.

The Sandbox: A Place to Dream & Play (formerly KidZone) 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. and 8 p.m. – 11 p.m. presented by Unified Outreach LV. There are age-appropriate activities during the 2 time slots. From 5 – 8 p.m. will be geared toward toddlers to preteen children and from 8-11 p.m. toward teens and young adults. All at Boulder Plaza, East of the intersection of Boulder Ave. and 1st Street.

Dance DepARTment 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. is where First Friday patrons can learn about a variety of dance forms, listen to music, and make new friends all while getting good exercise. A new location for the Dance DepARTment, on 1st Street just north of Coolidge, coincides with the new format and programming options provided by Epyk Entertainment and Molodi.

Food & Drink 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. Explore the many options for your taste buds as the First Friday Culinary experience is back in full force with delicious options from a wide variety of food trucks and artisan food vendors – over 30 in total!. Don Julio is back with their Don Julio Tasting Lounge.  Magical meals are happening at Justin Kingsley Halls’ gourmet kiosk, Slo-boy! He debuts at First Friday and samples his famous confit, smoked and deep fried organic German butterball potatoes. There are also many brick and mortar options in the Arts District, as well as the Fremont District, with new restaurants and bars opening regularly.
